Formal costumes, free flowing booze, and thousands of chocolate desserts, what more can you ask for in a charity event!!! This is my favorite event of the year!!! every year they have a different theme, they usually have décor and entertainers to match the theme, then you can dress as themed, or formal as you like!!! This year the theme was bohemian circus, there were lion tamers dancing with people in ball gowns! You can let your imagination go as far, or as tame as you want!!! We never was dinner before we go to fantasies in chocolate 1. So I can look good in my dress, and more importantly, 2. So we can fill up on desserts!!! All the casinos go crazy on the desserts!!! Check them out!!! But all the little dessert shops in town offer some wonderful items at their booths!!! It’s a great time to try something new!!! Just make sure you wear comfortable shoes!!! There is really no seating(unless you are in vip), i always see girls walking around carrying their shoes, if only they knew! WEARCOMFORTABLESHOES!!! Trust me, this event is worth the hefty ticket price!!!

Had a great time last night at this awesome event. We volunteered for 2 hours pouring fine wines. Then got to enjoy all the booths and eat some fantastic chocolates.

A fund raising event that revolves around chocolate– so why not go… Each year the theme changes but it stays as a formal event. That can be a bit of a challenge for dressing. This year was bohemian circus. There were some fabulous and elaborate costumes– bearded ladies, lions, ring masters and snake charmers. $ 75 for general admission at 7:30. $ 150 got you a VIP table and in at 5:30 to leisurely enjoy the vendors with a less crowded floor. It also can with a nice dinner to balance a mostly sweet chocolate night and endless bottles of wine. We started the evening in the corner with one of my favorite spots, the Jungle and it’s delicious chocolate martini made with Tahoe Blue vodka. I admit I had several of these little guys. Icecycle and Winey Munkies both brought delicious alcohol chocolate ice cream concoctions. Tons of sweet chocolate bites. A few savory nibbles– I enjoyed them the most. I love my dark chocolate, for me it’s the richness not the sweet. There were many spots to get a glass of wine or other chocolate based mixed drinks from 1864 and the Depot. I lost count of the number of restaurants, bars, caterers, and other vendors that set up great booths to show off their creations. I enjoyed the theme and the GSR really did a fantastic job of turning the huge ballroom into a giant big top tent complete with acrobatic performers and stilt walkers. In one corner there was a wonderful photo booth set up with a green screen to choose a circus themed background and have it printed instantly for you. A decent dance space, with a dj after the general crowd came in. VIP had a great live band play for our two early hours. I recommend trying this elaborate event at least once and remember it’s for charity.
