Alright and WOW I have been to Café de Thai for 5 – 6 years since I moved here and cannot believe that I have some how forgot their review! I must begin by saying that I love the restaurant for multiple reasons. First, it is a great place and near my work. They have free wi-fi and I can sit either outside if it is nice or inside the adorable restaurant. Second, I love how fresh all the products are they use for their food and how they have some many healthy options! It just makes the food taste that much better. The variety is awesome! I have had multiple meals at the Café and think their fried rice veggie with their mixed mushrooms are crazy delicious! Definitely a must try if you are going for the first time. The home made Thai iced tea and Ginger ale are also good choices to check out! All fresh and made there. My husband also really enjoys their Cappuchino which makes it a great place to bring the family for lunch. As I mentioned previously they have wi-fi which makes it a popular place for me and my colleagues to be able to get some work done while having some great food. We will come back with some dinners with my papa and sisters!

I’ve always felt that Café De Thai was ahead of it’s time. From the prices I just couldn’t afford when I was younger and less interested in a higher end unique experience. To the modern building with it’s oddly satisfying angles and excellent use of natural light beaming onto the industrial surfaces on the interior. Café De Thai has always seemed like someone«transported» it right out of the not so distant future. But not anymore. The future is here, and it’s much more homey than I expected it to be. Contrasting the coolness of the metal and concrete lines is a family owned warmth to the service. Every time I have been we have received the friendliest and most welcoming service. Our names were remembered just the second time we returned to dine. We’ve gone mostly at lunch and at off times to avoid the busier periods. The food has been good and unique. My favorite dish by far has been the phở. For the broth alone it’s worth coming here. Check out my photos of the Phở. They will tell you all you need to know about that dish. The meats are all very traditional. Beef balls and such, but the star is the broth. One of the other things I have loved about Café is their unique drink creations that give them their own signature. Many times alcohol will just be a nice addition to the offerings. Here they step up the creative game and give you something different to experience off the menu every once in awhile. Now to get back in for dinner some time soon…

Passed through Reno and had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant. Overall very pleased with the food, our favorite was the Pork Belly Spring Rolls. They were made to perfection, just the right amount of contrasting textures and tons of flavor. You can tell the chef really puts in a lot of love into the meals, we loved every bit of it. Customer service was very attentive, we never had to ask for anything as they anticipated our needs. Definitely coming back to this spot!

I prefer their pan nang curry with soft tofu than veggie Pad Thai. Maybe the cold weather on that day excited me more curry with rice than noodles. Their curry is quite large meal paired with corn fritters and some jasmine rice. I can tell their steamed rice is way carefully cooked and different from other Asian restaurants in town. Softer and in more jasmine flavor. Different brand or more upscale rice?! Love the rice with the curry so bad. I just placed one more order to go over the phone before I wrote this review on Unilocal. Thank you for getting me another world of food choice.

This is my first time to get to know Thai food thou I heard it is healthy and spicy. I am not a fan of spice at all maybe personal preference or too scared to try. When I first sat down at the table of Café de Thai, I asked the server«please make sure not spicy on my pad thai and panang curry». I guessed his name is Conor«Here we adjust the spice based on the food cooked when you order because it is freshly cooked by the order and we will adapt to your spice level». Hit spot! It seems they do not have 1 – 5 spice scale which is really confusing for the Thai food beginner like me. I chose mild flavor. Good to taste right.

I was visiting Reno for football game last Sunday night from South Cal and recommended by my friend who live in Reno for years. Café de Thai has Phở soup — what’s the news. Why not to try. Their lunch was awesome and good at reasonable price. We ordered Pad Thai and Phở Bo with extra spice plus Sea Food salad(OFFTHEMENU).Yes we do love spiceeee. Their pad thai comes with a bunch of chicken and shrimps. Look really fresh on the plate. Not too sweet and a bit smoky. Different flavor. My boyfriend did love his soup in a kettle and the salad. He is way more different from other customers. Eat soup first and then salad. I know him pretty well. Will come back if we have time to visit RENO for sure.

First time visiting Reno. We are craving Asian cuisine. We want to try something new. We find this place on Unilocal.Reviews seem good — we decide to give it a try. I order«rad nar noodle chicken» with big noodles and organic Asian mustard green, and it melts in my mouth. I’m happy. I look over — my mates are enjoying their food as well. Food hits the spot. We all look at each other and nod — agreeing that the visit was worth it. Café de Thai — we will be back again

My office is just next their restaurant roughly 1 mile away but I never visited them until my local friends took me there for their birthday. The Café’ is fancy and elegant in one upscale modern ambience with the industrial set-up like a European cuisine. We love this because we have not seen something like it in one Asian restaurant before. Their food menu and drink options are not expensive though and I got shocked with that. Brilliant! I know the economy is still difficult and we need to take care of our budget for other expenses. We started to order some beers on tap and the asian server gave us 3 choices: Gose — Sierra Nevada IPA and one other lighter beer. Of course we ordered some local IPA. Also my birthday friend ordered his Mekong King and Maitai for his wife. The drinks are beautiful and the beer are good choice with some fresh spring roll plus chicken satay. We can tell because most of the appetizers went really fast after 15 mins. I forgot to say the restaurant at 2.15 pm was still packed. Holy cow. That was Friday lunch I think. I love to come here again because their pad thai and chicken egg noodles soup are so good. Not too spicy and not most of Thai/Asian restaurants have it. I also noticed they have a beautiful dessert for display and look tempting if we did not need to come back to work. I recommend Café de Thai and gave A plus to them

I visit Reno twice a month for my job and found out Café de Thai 2 years ago through my friend’s recommendation. Wow upscale Thai food in a beautiful restaurant off freeway 395, which is super convenient for me and my mates to hang out with some MaiTai — Chang beer and Pad Thai. Speaking of their pad thai, you guys won’t be disappointed because it is cooked fresh and so good with chicken and shrimp. I think the price is fair for one upscale restaurant. I think they have happy hours around 2 – 5 with free drinks. Unfortunately we missed it last trip. We have been their regular customer every time I am in town. Last trip was excellent with their service and Cornish Game Hen and Fresh Baked Salmon in Honey Sauce. We came in after their big party with 200 guests. All the menus were gone because the restaurant was packed. We did not mind to wait for the host to greet. We totally understand. Fast service later and good food were the ones what we expected. Here you go! Our Game Hen served in yellow curry paste and Baked Salmon dish came to catch our attention on the table. So good with sticky rice and their papaya salad. They were featured with some black sauce which I did not remember thou the server already told us. We will come back for sure. Just got noticed they have been local restaurant for 20 years. Enjoy Café de Thai you guys!

Love at first bite! Sat down in this restaurant for dinner with friends and found a new favorite! Love the décor with the ceiling to counter fountain, gives the atmosphere a very relaxing modern feel. We started off with drinks and onto the appetizer! Pork belly spring rolls… FATASTICAL! Usually I do not like fresh spring rolls because the consistency is never right… too much lettuce or not enough lettuce, but these were spot on! Served with 3 sauces Chili, peanut and mango, it was hard to pick a favorite. Next the main course… Mango Chicken! The plate was huge but I managed to eat half of it! The chicken was perfectly prepared with the right amount of sauce to give it the mango taste without saturating the dish. When we first walked in it was slow but then became very crowded so I suggest reservations. Our service was slow at first but when she got a little help everything was spot on and she was great about recommendations and friendly. Definitely a keeper!

Discovered some new things about Café de Thai recently. My hubby and I have ate there several times. During Reno Bites we went with friends. I love going out with friends, it takes you out of your usual box. Many times they have a better knowledge about a cuisine than I do. The portions that day for lunch were huge and full of flavor. The table ordered pad Thai, game hen and a curry dish. The owner sent out dishes of phở, that they had just added to their menu. He explained how it was made each morning from scratch with oz tail and other bones. On the next cold wintry day I will be returning to try a nice large steaming hot bowl of phở. I’ve seen the dessert cart but never really paid any attention to it. Today three luscious decadent desserts were ordered. The tart limoncello cakes was so fluffy. The banana pudding had wonderful flavors and texture. But my fav was the trio of sticky rices– a sticky rice, dark rice and tapioca each with a different sauce. Check them out– it’s a great spot.

What a hidden gem this Restaurant is … after years driving past a spur of the moment lunch brought us here. Atmosphere is clean and fresh, the service impeccable and that’s just to start. The cocktails are amazing, you literally want to start at the top and work your way down. Favorites are the Blackberry Thyme Margarita and Honey Ginger Limeade. The food? AMAZING !!! The flavors and textures are superb. Best of all their sauce are all made in house and some of the peppers will knock you on your butt if you are even a little heavy handed. Definitely a MUST eat place in Reno.
