This place is awesome. The amount of knowledge in this place is incredible and the selection is pretty vast. Like other ski shops, they carry some brands, not all. Their service is fantastic and they stand by their boot sales. My wife just bought boots there, and they were making her feet hurt. She went back and after squishing the tongue of the boots, and putting in some custom insoles, she is skiing much more enjoyably now. We also got her helmet and poles from here. We certainly could have gotten them elsewhere, but the service and helpfulness of this small business was just so outstanding. Most of the womens’ clothing is on the first floor, as are goggles, wax, gloves, hats, etc. Mens’ clothing, skis, boots, poles, helmets and snowboard stuff is on the 2nd floor. I didn’t go in the snowboard section, so I can’t tell you anything about it. There were signs on the skis for Sale of the Week, so if you know what you want and can wait/visit weekly, then you could get a deal! Parking is available in a lot in the back, but it’s a little janky to get into with the intersection being so close. Not unmanageable though. If you’re looking for ski gear, I would say to try this place for sure.

My husband bought me a pair of snowboots and a snowboard from ski shop for Christmas. After I tried them on and we finally got nice snow these weekends it turned out my shoes were too tight. So we decided to go in today and exchange or get other ones. When we walked in a sales representative named Kerri told us it is not a problem, she can try stretch them out for me if necessary. We went upstairs she told me to try them on and walk around. I told her they feel tight and I am not sure that is the way it is supposed to be. I was advised that before you buy boots that they should fit you perfectly and should match your size. I really wanted to keep the shoes if there is only a way to do it. She was not helpful at all. Told me that she can see that being a problem and she doesn’t want to loose money on sale. So Rude! Me and my husband were shocked how not helpful and rude she was. She took them off my feet immediately, packed them up, put the box away, and grab our receipt and said whenever we are ready she is waiting for us downstairs. Wow!! She was not interested in keeping a sale at all. There was no more discussion about stretching them or anything. You can return the shoes after use they say she just didn’t want to deal with it. ”She saw that all being a problem in the future”.What excellent customer service ! After that my husband went to the car and returned the board as well because of the poor service. On the way out the door Kerri the sales manager made a repulsive comment…“ugh the board too unbelievable” After the return my husband asked if we could get the appropriate size snow board boots ordered or when this size will be available, 71\2 only size 7 was available storewide ! At this very moment he was interrupted mid sentence by Kerri the manager I suppose uttering the words Nope ! Nope ! My husband was so ready to leave. He could not stay there any longer. If only the owners knew what kind of salesperson she is. All that rude behavior and not willing to help at all led to a loss of total $ 500 sale. Don’t get me wrong it is a very cute place. But we will never be back there. That is not how you treat your customers who are willing to buy things from you!

Went into the store for the first time to purchase gloves for my wife. We live 10 minutes from the store. The younger woman with blond hair was very patient and accommodating when assisting with the glove purchase. An older short overweight woman in her early 70s was highly abrasive and annoying. My wife was trying on a North Face jacket and she constantly interrupted and used very pushy sales tactics. Decent price for the end of season sale, but can get equivalent price on line. Nice selection of brand name quality gear. If approached by the pushy sales lady politely tell her to go away and take your time.

Its a snow day! Picked up my new skis last night form the Ski Shoppe. Cant wait to get on them today, Headed to liberty to try them out, The staff was amazing, helping me pick out the right ski for me, Taking the time to fit me the boots. The things they did to the boots was amazing, they heated them, molded them to my feet, to give me a perfect fit. I have been to several other ski shops an not one compares to the service they provide. Thanks to Van who helped me out, and the rest of the staff for getting my ski ready for me, Prices were very good, but the service was outstanding!!! Check them out for sure!

Talk about knowledgable staff! These guys are great and so willing to help or even just converse over the sport and swap stories. Van is the man to talk to, his ability to determine your skiing ability and match you with the perfect set up is incomparable to any other experiences I’ve had. Extremely happy with the business I’ve done here and plan to return for later purchases.

I went to the Ski Shoppe recently with my boyfriend and his family(who have been patrons here for years) to be fitted with new boots. Staff was fantastic and more than willing to help and answer any questions that I had. In person service definitely beats an online sale when you’re talking about comfort in the snow! I highly recommend the Ski Shoppe and will definitely be returning the next time I need to be outfitted.

The Ski Shoppe has that hometown feel to it. They really know their stuff as well. The staff is so helpful in finding just what you need and will spend as much time as you need fitting your boots. This kind of service cannot be found online. They are all snowboarders and skiers, so they really know how to help.

The ski shoppe is a fantastic source for skis and boots. For years, I rented skis and boots and really suffered. I might as well have been wearing jeans. Finally, I learned that boots mattered. The staff at the ski shoppe were soooo helpful in fitting boots for me. I’m still not the best on a mogul, but at least I feel good attempting them. Aside from the knowledgable staff(the main staff have been selling and servicing skis for more than 20 years a piece), the selection is great. Also, the building is historic(1779) and is reportedly haunted-love that! Lately, I have friends that tell me I can get better deals online. That really bothers me because it causes problems with sizes and bad fittings. Plus, online buying just isn’t nice to weather-dependent local businesses.

After 5 years, thousands of dollars spent and many referrals, I will never come back to this place again. Owner and one of the leading clerks(shorter older lady with long dark hair) are rude and do not acknowledge you loyalty to their store. You always feel as you have walked in there for the first time. They will become rude and obnoxious if you even try to ask them politely for a price match or a discount. Two of my friends experienced similar treatment and will not come back there as well. Change of ownership or attitude adjustment is strongly recommended. My girlfriend and I were just planning to buy new equipment, but I guess this sale will go to another store in the area.

My family and I have been going to the Ski Shoppe for 15 years. We would never think of going anywhere else for our ski and snowboarding equipment. I am a fearful skier and always feel comfortable when a recommendation is made with regard to my equipment. The people who work at the Ski Shoppe are truly professional and knowledgable about what they do. Van is awesome… he has never guided me in the wrong direction when I’ve needed new skiis, and as far as fitting comfortable and safe boots, Van is the only person I would go to for this. The Ski Shoppe is also a wonderful place to get clothing and accessories for snow sports. They have beautiful jackets and hats but also have funky and fun stuff! They’ve helped me out several times with regard to this and as a result, I am not only warm but also look good on the slopes! I have also been able to purchase great gifts for my son, who snowboards, as well as purchase him a seasonal lift ticket to one of our local ski resorts. Aside from the knowledge and professional service, there is also a trust formed when you purchase your ski equipment from a store as reputable as the Ski Shoppe. I trust them implicitly that my purchase is correct for the type of skier I am and it fits properly and I’m safe… this service you cannot get when purchasing equipment on the internet. I can pay competitive prices and get fabulous service at the Ski Shoppe, why would I go online or anywhere else?
