Martha’s and Mary’s is closed down just an FYI I drive past it everyday to drop my little brother off. It’s sad that they closed but, I think it was because the quality of their food started to fall in my opinion.

Martha and Mary’s has been our go-to spot for breakfast every Saturday for the last three years. Price was right, always got the same thing, and we grew to know the staff and a couple of the owners. We knew there were some issues in the last several months, including an almost complete turnover in waitstaff on the weekends. We went last Saturday(9÷27÷14) and the place was closed and completely empty — not a chair, booth, or cash register in sight — or even a gone-out-of-business sign. We will miss M&Ms — the next best options are an IHOP a little further along Reisterstown Road and a fairly decent diner across from the Giant a little further than the IHOP — both of which cost about $ 5 – 7 more for both of us(will really miss our Frequent Diner discount!). Good Luck, Annie & Crew!

It use to be a great place, as soon as I walked in I was hit in the face with a bad odor. As I looked around I noticed it was filthy. This was after I received my wilted dirty salad. I won’t be returning. It was no place to enjoy food. Yuck

Great homestyle breakfasts at a great price. It gets very busy on weekend mornings which results in a lot of noise in this small restaurant. Try the breakfast pizza you will not be disappointed!

Sadly, this place isn’t what it used to be.

Need breakfast in Reisterstown? This is the perfect place. Two words: breakfast pizza. Seriously, very good food.

The family went there for breakfast. The pancakes were thick, the eggs were not fluffy and my husband prefers fluffy eggs, and the Oj(orange juice) was watery. The home fries were real and very good, and so was the bacon. And the price was right.

This is a very casual place. You order at counter and then sit. The pancakes were very big but I found the plain ones to be average in taste. The eggs were also average. Nothing special jumped out at me. The potatoes looked very nice but also had little flavor. Tea and coffee are served in styrofoam cups. The staff was friendly. Prices were not bad. The dessert menu looked great but I didn’t get a chance to try them. Not sure I would go back.

Four stars for breakfast, I haven’t tried anything else on their menu as there’s a lot of stuff I can’t eat(milk intolerance). Their red potatoes and omelettes are great and the prices are good for the portions. The girls at the front counter are pleasant, patient and helpful. Food usually comes out pretty fast. Be careful around 10am-12pm on weekends… it gets really packed!

Great variety of menu items. Home made Diner-esque selections in a family friendly atmosphere. Great breakfast and wonderful selection of comfort food! Friendly staff, too. I go there at least once a week and when they recognized me as a regular, I received a «regulars discount» — pretty cool :)

If this were just a breakfast joint: 4 stars. But lunch/dinner food is… hit or miss. I had a wrap from here once when I worked nearby and they make up for the kind of bland ingredients by covering it in dressings — not my thing. However, I also had chocolate chip pancakes from here too and they were BOMB. So, yeah, breakfast only, friends.

This place was really cute. The employees were nice and the place was clean. Ordering was easy — I had pot roast and a slice of pizza. Husband had the cheese steak and crab bread. The pot roast was very well cooked. The only change I’d make is next time to order the mashed potatoes on the side as I’m not a fan of them being soaked by the pot roast juice. But it was SOGOOD! And I was able to order the pizza by the slice. The dough was really good and if I had had room left I would have ordered another. I almost forgot to mention that my pot roast came with a piece of cornbread. It was cakelike and yummy. Husband enjoyed both his cheese steak and crab bread! We will be back. We would like to try their breakfast next time. Oh and the price was good — Drinks included it was less than $ 30.

For less than $ 5, I got a hefty cup of amazing cream of crab soup and a brownie as big as my face. Seriously, if you haven’t been here yet and you live nearby, go! Having independent businesses that serve inexpensive, yummy food is definitely a good thing for the area.

I went here on a Friday afternoon. The service was top notch(very friendly host/server) but the food is just OK(nothing special). I got a cheeseburger sub and the patties looked like they were frozen patties(not fresh). However, I’ll probably return here one day as they have a very thorough menu.

I’ve been here twice and am absolutely satisfied with the prices, level of service, and menu selection. You get so much for such affordable prices and the ambience is friendly and laid back. Good for a Mommy Me day and a chapter of 50 Shades of Gray!

Modern television’s «Survivor» purports to disdain modernity in a competition between«tribes». Contestants live not unlike early Paleoamerican tribes who subsisted as hunter/gatherers allowing streamlined simplicity of thought & execution to rule the day. Eating, sleeping, and making lil Paleoamericans was key to longevity & survival over competing tribes. Alas, Modern America with it’s science & multi-tiered ideas has complicated & convoluted such simplicity. So, often what you see ain’t always what you get. The equation F = MA looks simple. But when dissected it’s quite complicated. Mn + HNO3 = Mn(NO3)2 + H2 looks complicated. But it’s actually quite simple. Luckily there’s no such paradox with Martha & Mary’s. It looks simple and serves Americana concocted simply. It’s a throwback throwdown. Back to basics. I enjoyed my fat stack of 3 blueberry pancakes($ 4.25) hitting me with a refreshing blast of ripe blueberry in every bite. My choice of meats being sausage & scrapple($ 1 each) were ok. Not disappointing. My seasonal fruit cup($ 1.99) was more a fruit bowl filled with fresh pineapple, juicy grapefruit & orange, and grapes. Having yogurt as an add-on option would make this even better. The Creamed Chipped Beef($ 4.99) served with home fries had creamy smooth, lump-free gravy & loads of shredded beef that wasn’t morbidly salty as the chipped beef I’ve had too often elsewhere. Every breakfast served came with slices of fresh cantaloupe. Pricing is quite light on the wallet. The combo’s of Martha’s Breakfast,(2 eggs, home fries & toast), and Mary’s Breakfast,(2 eggs, home fries & buttermilk pancake), are $ 3.99 each. The employees are very upbeat, warm, engaging, and made me very comfortable. My commentary on this re-purposed former Friendly’s lunch & dinner menus would be hearsay as I’ve only tried the breakfasts. Regulars confirm breakfast is their forté. M&M’s doesn’t cater to connoisseurs. It’s equation is simple as 1 + 2 = 3. Whether those parameters parallel to a formula of continued survival amongst the breakfast bolting tribes of R-town over it’s comparable competition is undetermined. But it bears noting the weekend breakfast hours have been extended to 1:30 pm from noon by popular demand. Simple, uncomplicated breakfasts in a simple, uncomplicated setting unrefined by filigree, fusion, fission, fanfare or fluff. In complicated & convoluted Modern Times Modern Folk seem to like it that way. I like it too. It would appear the tribe has spoken.
