Firstly I will say I live up the street from this place and only thought it was a bar with bar food until my friend got a $ 25 off certificate from a discount site from her job. We figured lets try it and I must say I was impressed! Didn’t really explore the appetizers we had the spring rolls they were nothing special probably frozen and just fried out of a box but we decided to get the filet mignon and shrimp over garlic mash with a scampi sauce and it was amazing! I couldn’t believe how tasty it was. Only complaint was for four bucks u add shrimp and they give u a measly 2 shrimp would’ve been nice if 4 were on the plate. Serving size was very small on my entrée I was expecting more but the presentation was very high scale considering I thought it was just a bar with bar food haha… we also had the chocolate lava cake which was amazing too I must say… and can’t forget the espresso martinis!!! Comes with little roasted coffee beans floating on top and the prices were very reasonable 8 bucks a piece… I wish I took pics but I was so hungry I wasted no time eating that food up!!! I will definitely be going back to try more of this menu

It’s all about context. If your looking for an authentic Irish Pub with an old time New York City outer borough vibe, Woodhaven House is perfect. Great service, and excellent food to go with outstanding service. Crowd is working to middle class ethnic white-some even a bit more upscale and always a very cheerful, nice low key energy. A neighborhood and borough institution on the Middle Village-Rego Park border. Excellent choice for small private office parties, baptism’s etc. Makes for an excellent local night out when nothing else is on the agenda. It also would be highly recommended as an excellent choice to meet a client when conducting business locally or in between for that Manhattan-Long Island business conduit.

Whenever I’m hungover on the weekend and am too lazy to cook breakfast I stroll over here and order the traditional Irish breakfast and my husband orders the steak and eggs. I will remain a loyal brunch customer.

Went here this evening on a busy Friday night. The service and staff were great and friendly, I happened to be by myself and felt comfortable. The food was well presented and looked great on the plate but every single thing tasted gross, the French fries had a bad after taste, the salad dressing had no flavor the vegetables had no flavor could have had a little salt pepper maybe some garlic? Also ordered the angus steak I don’t think the chef even salt and peppered it. I only went to woodhaven house because London lennies was so packed. Unfortunately I would never return the food was barley palatable.

It’s a nice place. The live music on weekends is a plus — though I wish they would have jazz combos now and then instead of so much rock, which the bands play too loud for the size of the place.

The brunch at Woodhaven House is perfect if you’re seeking out brunch without the hassle: great at sticking to the basics, reasonably priced, and free of long lines. The brunch menu offers choice of a drink and entrée for $ 15. Will the drinks or entrees blow your mind? Probably not, unless you’re combining champagne and OJ together for the first time in your life. The food is perfectly fine considering the price point, and it’s comparable to what you would get at any neighborhood diner. The place is cozy enough and even with a Jets game with playoff implications on, the atmosphere wasn’t crazy. There are enough screens in the place so you can catch a game, but not enough to give you a blaring headache, so it’s a win-win whether you’re watching or not. The perfect place for your starch and grease intake while nursing a hangover, or if you’re just in the mood for a low-key brunch.

Woodhaven house is a pub-like spot that posses a distinct old world Queens charm that you’ll find in this area. I’m talking about a beautiful façade, ornate old wood interior with intricate glass and a beautiful bar that wraps around the entire restaurant in the center, making a flowing C shape. We sat in the restaurant section which was slightly quieter and more pleasant than the bar. I was surprised to see a kale salad on the menu — thinking a place like this would stick to more classic and homey dishes(like the french onion soup that all 5 of my dinning companions got) but I was happy to take the dive, since, yunno — I’ve been eating everything in sight since Christmas. The salad was bright, lively with avocado and fruit. The Kale and spinach were soft and the citrus dressing wasn’t overwhelming. I haven’t ordered a chicken pot pie(while out) in years, and with my new-found confidence from the kale salad I opted, and was not disappointed. When it came out, a giant flaky almost Pillsbury biscuity-crust floated on top of a giant ramekin. It was super creamy with veggies and chicken leisurely floating around on the inside. It was such an uncomplicated homey dish that hit the spot on the first snowy(really, sleety) night of December! Brrr – mmmmh! I was unimpressed with the wine and beer selection. Judging by the other reviews I should have stuck to a stronger, mixed libation. My pinot was watery and I think the star of the beer selection was Bass ale or something. Yeah that’s old men’s beer, yick. One of the gals in our crowd excitedly downed two appletinis and turned a little #basic that night. Eh, its winter break, good for her.

Woodhaven House is just what the name says, except not only a House but a Home. Great staff, great owner, and amazing bartenders that really treat their regulars like family. The food is great, the beer is cold, and the drinks are always delicious. My favorite bar in all of Queens.

I used to go to this place years ago when I lived in the neighborhood and loved it for casual hang outs and romantic dates. Recently my aunt passed away so we had the funeral lunch there with a large party and it went so well. The staff is friendly and attentive and the food is delicious. So I just HAD to go back again, this time with my wife, and even she wouldn’t stop raving over the extensive menu and how good everything was. Thank you, John for our great experience — we look forward to our next visit!

Always drove past this restaurant going to and from work. The location is split into two sections with a bar and a a restaurant. They have two menus one that hold the typical selection for when you eat and the selection that hold the specials or what is best for the day. The menus also include a selection for a entry special. The special lets you select. The food is great i ended up ordering egg Fettuccine Alfredo with salmon, lobster pieces, and scallops. The pasta was delicious and the seafood that it came with was well cooked. When i mean well cooked i mean to say the salmon, the scallops, and the lobster that it came with was tender and moist. The sauce that comes with the disk is light and creamy not at all heavy. The mood of the location was calm but got progressively busier as the night went.

My husband and I had a great meal here on a Sunday evening. He got the fish and chips, I got the seafood fettuccine. Both dishes were delicious. They have a nice beer selection and our desert choice was a black and white chocolate decadence which was wonderful. Will definitely return.

Great meal. Fantastic sirloin cooked perfectly; highly recommended. Quality fresh salad to start. Cold, crisp lager. And a nice apple crumble and coffee for dessert. The staff is very courteous and service is prompt and professional. Plus the owners, the two Johns, are visible and accessible without being overbearing.

I was here back in March for a fund raiser, and it was overly crowded and many of the clientele seemed very pushy. It’s not a place I would go to often

If you live in the neighborhood, there is no doubt that you’ve passed by Woodhaven House many times. So, it’s always caught your eye as you trudge through your commute, but you can’t make up your mind on whether or not to go. Let me help you decide: GO. Food: my main squeeze and I got the following items. Bacon wrapped sea scallops($ 10) These were great, the glaze doesn’t fit though. Bbq rib appetizer($ 11) I wasn’t exactly enamored with these, but these are very popular. Ossobucco($ 23) Fantastic flavor, really meaty and rich. The fetuccini was probably my favorite part of the dish though and I would have stuffed it into my pockets if they refused to package it for me to take home. Moms spaghetti. Rack of lamb($ 32) Bomb ass dish. Could have done without the breadcrumbs but it was delicious. Service was attentive and warm, really stellar. Can’t say enough about how nice it was, and the owner came around to every table to help out and make conversation. Price: Wasnt overpriced but some of the portions were small. Anyway, the reason I took a star off is the food was great, but nothing really stood out(with the exception of the fetuccini side). Also my lamb was a little overcooked. But yeah, enough of my haterade, I had a great time and will definitely be back and you should check it out too.

This review is for Sunday brunch. For $ 15 you choose an entrée along with tea or coffee as well as an alcoholic beverage — they have a few to choose from and the mimosa was one of the best I’ve tried! They have a nice selection of entrees to satisfy any craving. I normally order french toast for brunch and these did not disappoint. My parents got the eggs benedict and crab benedict while my brother got the steak and eggs. We shared and enjoyed everything and got dessert as well. The chocolate lava cake with ice cream was amazing — we cleaned the plate. The crème brûlée looked amazing but was just okay. The consistency was off, it was too watery/not firm enough. Overall, we had a great experience. Our waitress was kind and adorable with a heavy Irish accent. She was very welcoming and didn’t rush us despite the restaurant being very crowded. With the excellent price and service, I’ll definitely be back here again.

I would like to preface this review with a few words. My fiancée and I come to this restaurant sometimes because they have a nice brunch selection. The food is good, and with the coupon, 2 brunch selection + 1 appetizer w/tip comes to around $ 20. That’s a good deal. But here is where the problem is. We went here on valentines day for brunch. We ordered food, ate it, whipped out our coupon and surprise! No bueno. Turns out they do not accept coupons on holidays(Valentine’s day is a holiday?). I was not informed of this. No problem, we paid, went and saw 50 shades of Grey, and subsequently went home with a newfound confusion of my own sexuality. So upon getting home, I dug up the ticket from , and started combing through the fine print. Now here’s the interesting thing. Here is a link to the coupon: Do you see anywhere on the coupon that states it is not valid on holidays or Valentine’s day? I couldn’t find it either. So here I am, left with a bitter taste in my mouth, feeling a bit cheated on my bill($ 25 to be exact). In summary: Positives: * food was good(not $ 50 good) * wait staff was courteous Negatives: * Owner business ethics are terrible. Would I come back? Not anytime soon.

Occasionally there is an unspoken sense of true professionalism one feels when entering a new food & beverage establishment. From the first time I entered Woodhaven House to the last time I exited, that sense remains strong. I have had the opportunity to spend many evening hours enjoying the live music of the heavy rock genre, on other evenings meeting up with a friend for some food, but it was a neighbors 50th Anniversary party I attended last week that spawned the need to write this review. A review of not a particular dish or a specific musical act, no, this is a review of an overall positive acclaim for a great local restaurant. It dawned on me as I sat among many familiar faces of all ages, smiling, laughing, eating & drinking just how appealing the private party area was it sit within, be served and enjoy pleasurable company. It was as cozy as a living room, the service was super human given that one server handled the entire group flawlessly. The food options were basically open menu, in that you did not have a fixed meal at a fixed price which I guess is a credit to the host but played out well in practicality. Kids eating chicken fingers, adults eating steaks & chops and the elders opting for softer options. To have such a fine establishment within a short distance from my home, no matter what brings me there is very fortunate indeed.

Nice Sunday brunch – good food, cozy atmosphere with outstanding service. For $ 15, I had a Bellini, eggs Benedict with roasted potatoes, and several cups of coffee. For an additional $ 8, I got a delicious crème brûlée. My friend and I sat for several a hours, chatting leisurely, and our waitress never once rushed us but checked to see if we needed anything and offered more coffee and water. Overall, a lovely experience.
