I would give this agency zero stars.
For several weeks now, my mother has been in contact with their dispatchers. On multiple occasions, she requested a nurse to come evaluate my father’s health. Even though my father was discharged from LIJH — Queens with detailed discharge papers, Royal Health Care Services required an in-​house evaluation to determine what services he may qualify for. Each time they agreed on an appointment, and each time the nurse would NOT show up. My mother would be lucky if a dispatcher and/​or nurse called the next day to re-​schedule. If they did, they had the gall to call without so much as an apology or an explanation. Most of the time, my mother had to reach out to them again to schedule again…
This agency is so irritatingly unprofessional, it’s amazing they still exist.
After reading Lauren’s review dated December 3, 2012, I am extremely hesitant to have these people near my parents.
BEWARE!

My Father hired Royal Health Care Service to take care of my Mom. Most of the people did very little or as little as possible preferring just to sit around and watch TV or read a book. They did not engage my Mom is activities like puzzles or Dominos or having conversations.
No the only thing that they were very good at was snooping through her belongings and helping themselves whatever jewelry and other assorted items they found to be of interest. Or they would ask her for something knowing full well that since she was not in her right mind she would say yes.
The best was when the helper went to get a hat from the closet but stopped to open a purse. Let’s see hat — purse — hat — purse. No wait do hats look like purses? Well ah-​ah NO. And then she came running after me saying that all the jewelry on her fingers was given to her by her husband although one could see that the sizes, styles, ages, inscriptions were all different.
I suppose like myself people do buy second hand rings but it’s much easier to help yourself when your patient has Alzheimer disease. And then after my Mom passed finding out all of the other items that sprouted wings and flew away.
My brother assures me that this is normal after all the caretaker only makes $ 9 — $ 12 an hour. But to me it is not. It’s like inviting a guest into your home that robs you blind.
It’s not an innocuous item that has no family history, it’s not a pen that when people ask if they can borrow it, it somehow it ends up in their pocket — no it’s an heirloom, it belonged to your mother’s mother and her mother before that, it’s something you admired for years and was told that one day it would be yours only to have the caretaker walk away with it while no one was looking.
Pssted off, angry, you betcha.
So when hiring a team to take care of your elderly parents — make sure the agency reviews their staff well. Make sure the staff person leaves their personal belongings at home bringing only a small bag and no jewelry with them.
