Pizza is pretty hard to f*** up. But I think this place gets the sauce wrong. It’s kind of… raunchy and sour. The NYC sanitation rating is also a B. Blech!

The pizza is average, you can get a much better slice in the area. The employees are on the rude side, at least to non-regulars like me. Ok in a pinch if it’s late and you need a bite on the way out of the subway.

Only giving three stars because the food is good. However the pizza sucks. It’s edible but bleh. Employees are nice too.

Good food. Only reason for the 4 star is the prices, not ridiculous, but definitely higher than other places

Best white slice with spinach I’ve had. Wasn’t sure what to expect going in but it was great for a quick lunch.

Love this place. Been going here for my local pizza for 20+ years. It was the place that introduced me to Pizza. Their pies are great, full of cheese. Chicken rolls are fantastic as well. I hate going to those chain pizza restaurants and much prefer the local, mom and pop, pizza shops. They serve great Italian good as well but to be honest when I come here 99.5% of the time it’s for the pizza. For me, the class plain cheese pie always wins it. Whether it’s the regular pie or Sicilian pie.

While I am so happy to have a work function every month at which they bring in Queens pizza, reminding me of the deliciousness from my youth, this is not the best example to take me back. Good crust and sauce is sweet and tangy, but the cheese is soft and stringy, never well back to enjoy fresh and hot. Probably would be better reheated at home or in the store.

I have to say the pizza was very tasty. I had to ask them to make the slice more crispy because sometimes it was too soggy. Try their spinach slice it is very good I highly recommend it. Their credit card min is $ 10. They are not getting the 5 stars because there is one worker who is a little rude. YOUHAVETOTRYTHEIRGARLICKNOTS.

Really liked both the pastas that we ordered. Pasta Arrabiatta is pretty spicy, which was refreshing for Italian food. Got the spaghetti with pesto sauce and that was a little on the greasy side but tasty nevertheless. My husband and I are vegetarians and we found something that we thought could be meat. Called up the restaurant and the person we spoke to was very polite and explained that it’s just eggplant. I am sure we will order from here again.

I’m all about quality not so much about quantity… and this lasagna is all about quantity and not about quantity… too bad… I’m really disappointed, the lentil soup it’s okay… it’s more like a vegetable soup but works … cannoli it’s not restaurant quality… more like any neighborhood pastry

I’ve lived in this area a while and both eat in and order delivery from here several times a month. Either way I give them five stars for a combination of food, attention and quick courteous delivery. I just ordered baked clams, veal parm and pasta, it arrived in about 25 minutes, hot and ready to eat. Big clams, fresh and tasty. Huge portion of tender veal cooked just right. Pasta with meat sauce($ 2 extra, well worth it) that will be lunch tomorrow. I’m more than happy to recommend both dining at Avellino or ordering delivery. Good food and good service either way.

This is a below average pizza by far. This pizzeria doesn’t smell like a pizzeria inside and it doesn’t smell like a pizzeria outside. Not from a far not from a close. That is a crime. any good pizzeria had to smell like it. I should have listed to my parents in law. The pepperoni wasn’t crispy on the sides. The sauce tasted like it was strait out the can. The chicken parm roll lacked sauce Abs chocked lacked flavor. But the dough wasn’t that bad. I will not be coming back.

Ordered to go the house salad with grilled chicken was their lunch special. With snapple and garlic knots. Salad was very good. Fresh ingredients and plenty in the salad. Garlic bread was good but I have had better in the neighborhood. The pizza selection looked very appreizting. Ill try that next time.

Best pizza you can find in Queens, hands down. The bigger pizzas usually feed 4 and every pizza is loaded with toppings. We usually get a large pizza and the slices are nice, big, New York-style slices. You have to get the pizza with some toppings(spinach and broccoli!) because they really load the toppings on. I like to think of this place as New York pizza with an Italian feel. YUM!

I cant tell you anything about anything other than the spinach pizza. That is literally the only thing I get here, with a side of sauce. It’s so freakin good! I’m always in the area, so I come here at least 3 times a month. Yummy.

The only reason i walked into this place was because i was starving & it is located in a neighborhood that is drowning in a sea of fast food franchises. Long story short i hold my NYC pizza slice to very high standards & if you are going to charge me $ 7 for two plain slices of pizza and that’s without a drink then it best blow my taste buds away which this very much did not. if anyone who knows how to make a solid, respectable slice were to open next-door to this hack pizza place they would be forced to closed down inside of a month. In summary; if you don’t mind paying way too much money for very sub par pizza(again two plain slices for $ 7) then this is your place however if you know your pizza avoid Avellino’s at all costs.

Came here twice last weekend with my boyfriend as he is a newbie to the neighborhood, and was highly disappointed as we have yet to find a good pizza joint in this area. First time i ordered sausage and peppers hero and although the taste wasn’t exactly to my liking, I was extremely hungry and ate most of the sandwich. The second time, I we ordered it to go and i gave a look at the menu as I had not yet figured out what to order. I chose the shrimp Caesar salad(thinking the shrimp would be grilled) and the buffalo wings. Bad call! Got the order wrong as they gave me cold shrimp(cocktail style) on my salad. Gross! Called from home to complain and the guy had the nerve to tell me, I did not specify?! I told him to open the menu, and pointed out that the only option to order the shrimp was grilled, nothing indicating otherwise. I felt his brain matter shatter all over the floor as his mind was blown with this discovery! He did send a new order to the place which was mediocre but I will no longer order from there. Really not worth a third strike. I still have yet to find a good pizza joint from this area.

LOVE their pizza — definitely one of the best in the area. The food varies by what you order. The young guy that works there is very attentive and friendly — the other guys are okay.
