Chowder was awesome. Tsunami Platter was a good choice to try everything out: cod, oysters, and shrimp were the best parts. It was perfect because it was only $ 27 between the three of us, and it had everything we wanted to try. We were eyein’ those desserts HARD! but we were pretty full so we ended up not getting any. Nice craft beer list of local Oregon beers. They even have butterbeer, which I didnt try because I was told it was too sweet. It’s not a huge place with a lot of seating, and I don’t know if that’s an issue because I’m not sure how crowded it gets. We didn’t have to wait because we get there late(at 8pm) which was only an hour before it closed. If you’re looking for a good meal, this is the place to stop.

Fantastic breakfast. The coffee was very good, and my pulled pork hash browns with poached easy eggs were perfectly executed. Lots of food for the price, a complete hit. Service was also very good, attentive and considerate.

Atmosphere is nice. Service was friendly. The clam chowder and beer selection were both decent. The reason for the okay review was our main meal — the tsunami. Everything fried here is overbattered and flavorless. I do NOT recommend any of their fried food.

A small Dining room and counter doesn’t stop me from making Harbor Light a regular put stop in Reedsport. Utilizing the best wild game and locally grown meats,(including wild boar!) seasonal bounty, beer, wine, and soda, the Light offers yumminess at every turn. Last night’s homemade pot pie and cioppino servings were too large to allow us to try he delicious looking cobbler. Comfort food at its finest. (Also locally harvested berries)

Had dinner here tonight. Started with the chowder and it was better than average with good clam content and creamy. Next was the dinner salad mew. Main course of sea food pot pie. Its is huge and tasty with no way to eat it all. Good beer selection. Little pricy. excellent service.

Simply put, it was the best hamburger I’ve ever had!!! we had driven a long while and were really hungry. It was right as we got off hwy 38 and it was a nice surprise. Clean, nice wood, rocks imbedded in. Big black chalkboard with all the drinks offered right up front in your face. Nice waitstaff, very attentive. We got a small lava cake to go that was scrumptious.

While on Vacation 2 years ago we visited this Restaurant. It is so nice to come back and see that the quality and quantity is still 5 stars. Nice friendly service. Great food in this small town. We are staying in Florence OR. well worth the drive. Don’t miss this great restaurant.

Amazing fish and chips. And the absolute best clam strips I have ever had.(Side note, this is probably the bazillionth place where I have tried the strips… So I may be the world’s foremost authority.) Special thanks to the wonderful staff for making it a memorable and tasty experience!

Great place. After reading the reviews while staying in Florence we decided to stop in on our way home to Grants Pass. This place is outstanding. A small diner/restaurant that is immaculate inside. My wife had the stuffed French toast after reading a Unilocal.I had a taste and it was unbelievable. I had to stick to a lighter fair due to not upsetting my cardiologist. Don’t miss out on this little gem on the coast!

Such a hidden little spot. You would drive right by it(and we did when we entered Reedsport heading to Winchester bay) but don’t pass it by… it’s the BOMB! Love their seafood pot pie and their clam chowder! Their food is made in house and the people are darling! Good service and worth your while to stop and enjoy!!! We grabbed our meal to go(so this is not their eat in presentation) but if you wish to cook the seafood pot pie at home you can! Super delicious and FULL of seafood! And don’t dismiss the salad that comes with the pot pie it was super fresh and loved their balsamic dressing!!!

Paul and I just enjoyed the most amazing breakfast at Harbor Light Family Restaurant. We arrived shortly after opening on a Monday morning and had the place to ourselves, with the exception of our server and the cook, the entire time. Our server was friendly and attentive, and she was gracious enough to tell us more about the area. In addition to great service, we appreciated the comfortable, casual atmosphere. Paul ordered the stuffed French toast with marionberry sauce, which was what I really wanted, but I opted for the omelette with shrimp, avocado, and Swiss cheese. My omelette was good, and the hash browns that came with it were even better, but Paul’s French toast stole the show. The contrast of the sweet berry sauce with the sourness of the lemon-flavored custard was truly heavenly. I told Paul that if I end up on death row, I want that French toast for my final meal. If you are anywhere near Reedsport, please do yourself a great big favor and dine here!

I can see if you like fried stuff, you might like this place. The fried onion ring I got is pretty good, however, the other stuff are bit disappointed. The clam fritter is way too much bread and lack of taste. Recommend the clam chouder

An ok place to take a break and have some lunch to get fueled up — but the food is far far away from greatness. The onion rings were good enough(but let’s face it — how hard is it to make onion rings). My wife’s Salmon burger was pretty dry and my turkey sandwich was untoasted and thus not that good either. So, I think a-ok really hits the spot on the Harbor Light Restaurant.

When planning our 2015 road trip, I thought back to our 2012 expedition to Seattle, during which the second day was spent cruising up the Oregon Coast, from Crescent City to Astoria. I remembered that the southern part of the state moved by quickly, the northern portion a bit slower. So, I figured that since we were coming in the opposite direction this time, we’d get the painful part out of the way first. That proved to be a mistake. In retrospect we should have taken US26 to Portland, cruised down I-5 to Eugene, and then returning to the coast via Oregon 126. Or we could’ve simply stayed on I-5 for most of the balance of the trip, spending the night in Ashland instead of Brookings. The first half of our day was spent dodging traffic lights, speed traps, slow«recreational» vehicles, cars backing out of random intersections, and an occasional view of the ocean. As anticipated, our speed wouldn’t really pick up until we left Florence in the rear view mirror. I did have other memories of Reedsport — it was in this town, way back in 2000, when I received my last speeding ticket. So, I made sure to slow down as we approached the Umpqua River Bridge. Given that there was construction going on, my actions on the matter proved to be unnecessary. By the time we entered Reedsport proper, we were ready to eat. Fortunately the Harbor Lights Restaurant appeared, its well-kept facilities shining like a beacon of light. Decision quickly made, we pulled into the parking lot. It was about 3PM, but there were about three other families eating and chatting away. A friendly waitress greeted us and took our orders in an expedient manner. I would have the Elk Burger, wife had a cheese sandwich which she described as «wonderful». To further satisfy our palettes, we purchased three chocolate chip cookies for a smacker afterwards, which were the proverbial cherry on the top. So, run, don’t walk to Harbor Lights. Just don’t drive too fast!

Great little stop off today. My husband and I were hungry and driving down the coast in Oregon. We went through Florence and found it way too touristy. When we spotted this wooden restaurant right off of highway 101 in Reedsport, we swerved quickly to the left and went on in. The place was cozy and friendly. Great local beer and cider selection along with local specialties. Boar burgers, Elk burgers, half-gallon clam chowder options, and cedar plank salmon that give you the taste of what’s caught around there. I had the best cheese sandwich with enormous onion rings perfectly battered while my husband had the elk burger. For dessert, for just a buck, we had three homemade cookies. A great stop to fill our bellies with delicious, heartwarming food.

We have been on the road all day and stopped to give the dogs a break at the city’s local dog park. Tired and hungry, we turned to the Unilocal app to find a place for dinner. Turns out we are almost right across the street from a spot that looks like it will fill the bill. We had no expectations and the outside façade of this restaurant didn’t do anything to encourage otherwise. It looks like a chain coffee shop(wonder if it was in the past?) on the outside. Once in the door and warmly greeted we marveled at how homey and friendly it was. Glancing at the specials, even before looking at the menu we knew we were in for a treat! We started with bbq’d oysters served with a garlic butter sauce, moved on to our entrees. Mr. S was delighted with his seafood pot pie. It disappeared so quickly that I had to be fast to sample the delectable pastry. My locally caught cedar plank salmon and spinach salad was perfect. Mr. S(who can never pass up dessert) truly enjoyed the homemade marionberry crisp to finish off the evening. I would have taken a photo of our food but it disappeared too quickly. Our server was friendly, fast and informative. We couldn’t have asked for more. We even enjoyed a nice conversation with a group of local folks at our next table. When I mentioned that I didn’t know what a razor clam was, one man gave me a piece of his to try! You sure wouldn’t find that kind of folksy kindness in the bay area!

This tiny place right off expressway 101 doesn’t look like anything special from the outside, but — its whats on the inside that counts right ? Service was wonderful & the food was fresh and came out quick! I had a special of theirs which had 2 pieces of cod, clam strips, coleslaw(which was soo good), deluxe chowder & garlic bread. My boyfriend had the grilled cheese with crab. We both enjoyed our meals and had to end it with a peanut butter pie which was outstanding. I love the fact that their tartar and cocktail sauce were homemade. These things make a huge difference, Great place with reasonable prices. Check it out
