Love the vegetarian cold sandwich. I get all the veggies on my sandwich and it is huge! You can save half for a snack later. Haven’t tried any of the soups yet.

I figured out what it was that made Steve’s Smoker so great — it was the smoked cheddar cheese. For SURE. Of course everything else in it was good, but that smoked cheddar cheese is what makes it. If you’re thinking I’m an idiot because ‘smoker’ is in the name, smoked cheddar is in the sandwich description on the menu, and I still didn’t connect the dots… let me tell you how subtle the smoked cheddar is — I hate smoked cheeses, I love smoked meats and burnt popcorn and all that good stuff but this is on point. Seriously I am probably going to die from all of the smoked stuff that I eat, and this was so perfect with the other ingredients I didn’t even realize until today. Unless you specifically ate a piece of cheese from your sandwich or have a very refined palate, I don’t think you’d immediately notice. And cheese is one of my favorite hobbies, trust me. Like I said I would in my first review, I tried the tri-tip sandwich and yep it’s delicious as well. They have a mix of well-done and more rare pieces so just ask for whatever your preference is. A mix is probably best.

Solid lunch choice in the Redwood Shore area! They do get craaaaaazy busy during lunch, so plan accordingly. I usually take a later lunch around 1, and the line is still a little long, but bearable. Coming at noon is pointless, you’ll spend your entire break waiting. This doesn’t reflect on the staff — they’re all super quick and friendly. Especially considering the area, their prices can’t be beat. Huge sandwiches, with various vegetarian options. The sandwiches are pretty good, standard fare. They don’t skimp on the meat, and their dutch crunch and sourdough roll are both great options. They’ve got a ton of drinks and chips, and even salads and soups. I haven’t had the soup, but the salads are pretty lackluster here. so stick with their sandwich menu!

Last month I used Steve’s Café to cater an employee workshop that our company was holding. I placed the order with Steve who was very patient and kind. He answered all of my questions and was very cooperative when it came to completing some standard paperwork with our company. Our event was about 80 people so we decided to go with the business lunch for each person. This consistent of a croissant sandwich, chips, homemade cookie, drink(soda or water). Everything tasted great and our employees enjoyed their lunch. they were all raving about the homemade cookies! Steve’s café offers an assortment of everything and they even brought a tub with ice to keep the drinks cold. That was very much appreciated as the little things count the most for good business. They set up nicely and everything went very smooth. We will definitely be ordering from them again!

Love this place! The family that runs this place does a great job, very friendly and personable. I work in redwood city and will go out of my way to come get their sandwiches. If it is a Tuesday or Thursday you gotta get the crab cake sandwich. Its delicious! Get there before 2 as they sell out quick! If I come on a different day I will typically get my favorite sandwich, Hot Pastrami add Garlic Spread. I have an obsession with deli sandwiches, and I judge a deli on there Hot Pastramis for some reason. They make a great one. The Steve Smoker is also a favorite, along with the veggie on sliced bread. Clean, delicious, fresh. What more can you ask for in Redwood Shores, a place where its difficult to get a good eat. Lines out the door? You know they are doing it right.

Was studying at the redwood shores library and got hungry for lunch. Found this place nearby on Unilocal and I was super glad I did. Felt kinda awkward because we were probably the only people who didn’t work in or around the building at the café. Still a great and tasty place. Very busy at lunch time but maybe like a 10 minute wait in line and totally worth it.

Steve’s days are my favorite days at work. It’s a short walk from my office in Redwood Shores, which gives me time to get some fresh air in the middle of the day. The staff here is always friendly, and they have EIGHTEEN sandwich options! It’s almost like having an Ike’s on campus. I typically get the Steve’s Smoker(I’m a sucker for bacon), but they have choices like Sesame Thai Chicken and even«Raging Bull» — roast beef, red peppers, and pepperoncinis. Oh, and they offer Dutch Crunch here. I don’t know why you would get any other type of bread. As for soups, they have a couple options that rotate in and out, but they always have a delicious chili served with cheese and onions on top. This place also somewhat doubles as a convenience store, selling a number of items like cup ramen and ice cream bars. The line can be long especially around noon, but if you’re with a friend or two it moves pretty quickly. If you’re looking to dine in, there are plenty of tables available(with a TV in the corner if you get bored). TIP: DONOT — I REPEAT — DONOTTRYTHESPICYPICKLEDEGG. Ugh, even memories of that taste make me want to puke in my mouth a little. I do, however, highly recommend convincing one of your friends to try it. Please videotape their reaction and put it on YouTube.

Worked in the building for 2 years — ate lunch there at least once a week. Sandwiches are fresh, bread is fresh — dutch crunch roll is the bomb. I usually go for a Tuna Salad sandwich or one of the to-go salads with the spicy chicken, sometimes I’ll get breakfast sandwich on wheat with saussage — nice way to start the day.

I got a sandwich here everyday this past week because I was doing some job training in the building. The sandwiches are legit. Bread was always super fresh and soft. Veggies are super fresh and you get a big sandwich for a good price. They have their own specialties sandwiches but also sandwiches you can build and customize yourself. My boyfriend says this was one of the best sandwiches he has ever eaten in his life, and he eats a lot of sandwiches. Staff members are also legit. One of the days their credit card machine charged me twice and without hassle they just handed the money back to me. Unlike other places where it this kind of thing happened they go into a full investigation to make sure you are not trying to scam them.

I got the #18 turkey chipotle and it exceeded all my expectations! The food was well priced, delicious, and filling. I recommend going here on your lunch if you are in the area.

My son attends daycare within the building and one of the best parts of his day is visiting Steve and the staff. They are patient as he chooses his morning donut and always call him by name. Their prices are super reasonable and I see the same regulars each morning. Their food is fresh and yummy but the customer service is what I appreciate most, that is becoming less common in the world. Thanks Steve and crew!

Considering I worked a hop skip and a jump away from here I never got the tri tip. Just got coffee and other beverages which were ok. I guess I’ve totally missed out. In reading the reviews from when I worked in the area to present day seems like the trip tip is going strong with their other foods. Perhaps one of these days Ill hit on a tues/thurs and get that sando which has eluded me

Came here last week with my coworker and as we got to the front of the line to order a sandwich, we noticed that half of the employees were NOT wearing gloves. We were so grossed out and was praying to god that we don’t end up with one of them. But of course we did. URGHH… great. she did wash her hands right before… but u still gotta put them gloves on! We don’t want to see bare hands all up in our sandwiches. We both ordered the Johnny Blaze which was the Roast Beef w/garlic & jalapeño spread and pepper jack cheese on dutch crunch. This visit was the first time I was really disappointed and I’ve been here tons of times. The bread was undercooked so it was doughy especially on the bottom, the jalapeño spread was too generous so that was all I tasted and the roast beef didn’t taste beefy and juicy like it should. And I love garlic spreads but didn’t taste any this time. Service is usually friendly and efficient here however this time, the lady that made our sandwiches was not able to handle both our orders at the same time. She somehow got really confused as my co-worker wanted the ½ sandwich/soup combo and messed up our orders so we ended up waiting forever to receive our food. Bottom line? I’m sticking to them turkey and avocado sammies from now on. Simple is always better.

Steve’s is right next to where I work so I go a couple times a week. They have a tasty selection and friendly staff. The quality of the sandwiches is always spot on! I used to get the loaded baked potato often but lately it seems like the quality of the bacon has gone downhill so I get chunks of chewy fat pieces. Only complaints would be the long lines around lunch and it can be a bit pricey.

Steve’s is always the friendliest place to grab a quick bite. They make most of their edibles in house– it’s pretty cool, a lot of times in the morning they have the BBQ smoking outside braising or grilling whatever special of the day is on the menu. I still need to try their tri-tip sandwich! While their breakfast menu is not amazing, it will do in a pinch. I’ve had their breakfast sandwiches and their burritos before. It’s kinda nasty that they microwave the eggs but at least it’s fresh I guess? And when I’m starving in the morning, it tastes fine. The line usually snakes around the entire counter for lunch so I tend to avoid peak lunch hours give that the sandwiches are pretty decent but not really worth waiting 10 minutes for. That being said, the line moves pretty fast and Steve’s crew moves pretty efficiently to process your order. I also like that in general there are a lot of healthy options to choose from(hardboiled eggs, peanut butter veggie snack packs, a multitude of pre-packed salads etc). Given the convenience and huge variety at Steve’s, I definitely wish it was open later so I could pop in for a late afternoon cookie or something but they’re usually all packed up by 3pm.

Steve’s is one of the few places that are walking distance from my work, so I eat here at least twice a week, usually more. Never had a bad lunch here. Bread is fresh, meat is piled high, and you can have pretty much any combination of any sandwich that you can think of. Soups are delicious too, and they have a big selection of all kinds of snacks, drinks, chips, salads, etc. Ordered catering from them several times and the food is just as great as it is at the deli. Staff is helpful and friendly. The only downside is that they get really packed around lunch time. There is usually plenty of seating for everyone, but the line can take 10 – 15 minutes to get your food. But with food this good, it’s worth the wait!

If you’re having a meeting at the Sobrato Center nearby, this is a great place to get your sandwiches catered from. Steve’s Café has great great service(even when they’re jam packed with the line out the door). And there’s a reason why the line is out the door too. Sandwiches are fresh tasting, great quantity, lots of different choices to choose from. The sandwiches were a little soggy when we got to them though, but they were still good which made me wonder how good they’d taste if we had eaten them right away. Dutch crunch was a little stale, but it was still good. Since the Sobrato Center is so close, they’re nice enough to deliver there for you. I think we ordered a bit more than we should have because their sandwiches for catering are larger than expected. We also got their cookies which were soft and so good! Service was awesome. We picked up our sandwiches and were in such a rush we dropped the company credit card. Steve(I think it was Steve), was so nice he went over, even during rush hour, to give us back our card! Thanks!

Found out about this place because it is in walking distance to my work. I am giving them 5 stars because literally everything I’ve tried from here is really really delicious, made from fresh & quality ingredients, and at a good price. For breakfast, their coffee, breakfast bagels and vanilla yogurt with granola are all excellent. For lunch, their sandwiches are delicious, huge, fresh, and will hit the spot. Another thing they make here that is really good are their cookies — you might think, a cookie is just a cookie, but their chocolate chip cookies are exceptionally good — a few of my coworkers in my office are obsessed with them. On top of great food and proximity to work, service is always friendly here! Tip: during lunch time, come a little earlier than noon or after 1pm — it gets packed here with long lines during the lunch rush time.

Steve’s café, what’s there not to like about you? I see all the 5 stars, and had to see if it’s true What can I say, it was like love at first bite Because your tri-tip sandwich is out of sight! People are friendly, the owner is nice That’s why I forgive you for not having food with rice Last of all, one thing you do well You sell energy drinks, that makes you swell :) Read the reviews of this place and just came back. Ate the tri-tip sandwich and man, I was blown away. OK, read my other reviews, I NEVER get blown away by a sandwhich, but their tri-trip sandwhich will make you happy. Add that with a rockstar juiced orange recovery for a normal price of $ 2.25 and you’re golden. I’m just glad that they don’t over charge you on the rockstar. They have a great selection of food, sandwiches, soups, etc. The people are really cool, and it’s a family business! They have a great selection of food, have a café, drinks, cookies… Basically, it’s the place to go to when there’s a food shortage or nuclear disaster. Additional note: It’s located at the Provident Credit Union building and kind of hard to find. Good thing because it’s busy enough(but that’s me talking selfishly). But two things I’d like to add: 1) Their cobb salad… simply the best! And this is someone who doesn’t even like salad(my wife will attest to that). It’s slightly pricey($ 7 something) but boy is it worth it. First of all it’s huge and second, it has huge servings of everything, hard boiled egg, bacon, blue cheese, etc. 2) Chocolate Chip cookies! — K, I’m not so much of a sweets person, but these are my favorite cookies! I don’t know, but I seriously think they put crack in them because they’re frigg’n addicting. Try them!
