My new favorite dive bar! Complete with all the necessary components. First, we have cheap drinks served by a sassy bartender. Next, karaōke Thurs-Sat with millions of songs to choose from. Finally, lots of locals loading up the stools, ready to chat with you. It is a great little place if you can handle this type of atmosphere, it is not for the up tight status seekers.

Easily my favourite Dive. You’ll find me regularly here on Thursday and Saturday for Karaōke and most Fridays also, sometimes even a Wednesday for Jam night. All the regulars are good people, and any(over the top) idiots are shown the door pretty quickly. Great place, great vibe, great people.

I went here on 12−26−15 Saturday 9:30pm’sh for karaōke. I met my friend, he introduced me to this bar. I ordered two heinenken beers $ 4.50 each which is reasonable and he ordered white wine for $ 5. My songs came up fairly quick, sang«escape» and«white lines», they do have a good sound system, so I don’t need to project my voice too loudly. It’s a dive bar with locals hanging out, there’s a moderate crowd.

If you’re looking for a dive bar, this is the place to go. My Grandfather and I are in town, while my mother having a surgery done in the Hospital, so we(by that, I meant my Grandfather) went out looking for a dive bar. We came across Sodini’s. The bartender was very friendly. They were playing a John Wayne movie & gave everyone cookies. The bathroom had ice in the urinal, and there was a condom machine. Awesome.

Came in 20 min before closing, after last call. The bartender was so nice that he made me my favorite cocktail nonetheless. Great service!

I have been coming here for years. This is the great equalizer when it comes to how I judge Karaōke and/or Dive Bars. It’s like another family, and that’s kind of creepy.

Robert The kj here has a surprisingly huge song selection. His sound system is great and he definitely knows music as you can tell if you come in and here him sing. Plus he looks like Kevin Smith

We were here for part of a yearly Halloween pub crawl. It’s our second year in a row coming here for it. I have never been here on any other night, so I have no clue what it’s like on a normal night. The bartenders(owners?) are pleasant, but despite having a full bar, don’t know how to make the most basic drinks. I asked for a Manhattan, the female bartender didn’t know how to make one, so she said the male bartender would make it. He pulled out a book, and a few minutes later I had a yellow tequila based drink in front of me. When my husband told him it wasn’t a Manhattan, he said«that’s what was in the book», he shows my hubby the book, and the drink he made was above the recipe for the Manhattan, he and the woman apologized and said he didn’t see so well. I ended up with a Manhattan, and it was actually pretty good. Although, my friend got there a few minutes later, ordered a Manhattan and got something else totally different. Stick to beer and shots here.

The bar was quiet and the bartender was super nice however this gets a 1 star bc the DJ for karaōke was a douche! I sang alone and was goin to help a friend sing bc she didn’t want to go by herself keep in mind we put the songs in at the same time and he put at least about 15⁄20 songs in between however he let the«regulars» go a few times and said I couldn’t go twice and my friend had yet to go! This took over an hr be4 we got to go. When I confronted him he said I don’t give a crap leave!

Well the karaōke selection is great. I give that 5. However they keep the doors open when everyone smokes RIGHT outside both doors and all the smoke flows right in. And tonight its cold out and they would NOT close the door upon request. Said they would close the back door and we could move to the back of the bar. Real bummer for me because other than those two things, I like it here.

wooden saloon atmosphere with music at full blast… older crowds and a karaōke dj taking requests… taking drinks and feeling dazed… lot of regulars assuming from karaōke performance… just watching and drinking… wanting to end the night with a song… failed attempt and just drinking… cheers to a random redwood city night out…

Do not come here if you are gay. The owner and bartenders casually toss around the f-word.(The other f-word.) They say things like«Get your f****t a*s out of here.» Even though the comments were directed at another man, I took notice and I complied. I left and will never go back. These are awful, horrible, bigoted people.

This place is a easy five star recommendation, mainly because of the the Karaōke shows Thurs, Fri, & Sat nights hosted by Robert. He has a really good overall system that sounds great, plus the way he runs it with the laptop is cool. You can actually use your smart phone to look at the songs he has plus if it’s a I-Phone /Pad, you can even turn in your song from your phone without a song slip or leaving your table. He runs his show very fair & with equal rotation. I’m sure you’ll have alot of fun, it’s well worth checking out !!

This and the Gourmet Haus are the two joints in Redwood City I hang at when I’m in this area. Sodini’s is a step back in time when it was respectable to start drinking before noon and then stumble home for dinner. Even on a cloudy day it takes time for my eyes to adjust to the darkness inside. Lit only by a single strand of rope lights surrounding the bar and along the opposite wall it makes for great canoodling or watching tv which is thankfully not turned to sports. Expect to find a local clientele that is friendly enough to strike up a conversation with. This is a place that everyone with a drink in front of them is welcome. Don’t expect fast service, but then nobody really cares. Happy hour specials make the drinking all that much more enjoyable. It’s hard to beat $ 2.50PBR’s.

This is not Redwood City’s trendiest spot by any means but it is a hot spot on Saturday nights. Cheap drinks, great karaōke and a handsome no nonsense– won’t take your shit bartender named Tony. The crowd is mixed from old timers to OOPS! Let’s check you ID?*! People are playing pool, singing karaōke and dancing between the pool table and the wanna be next American Idol. No real dance floor here but it doesn’t matter cause you just dance when the song is right. «Break time». The bar clears out typically when a slow song comes on. They all convene outside on the sidewalk adjacent to El Camino smoking cigs and shooting the breeze. OOPS! Song over… Robert the karaōke DJ King strolls back into the bar to announce the next singer. Robert makes everyone sound better than they really are. Fun spot.

Just an average dive bar. Not as scary as other reviews made it out to be, it’s just a bit dingy and unfortunately next to a sex shop. It is a MUCH older crowd, and they all seemed to know each other and not make an effort to be friendly to anyone walking in. The bartender made up for their frostiness, though. Drinks aren’t terribly stiff, but they are cheap: $ 4.50 for well. There’s free pool, and karaōke three nights a week(sorry, didn’t catch which days, but we were there on a Saturday when they had it) with a decent song book.

Came here to celebrate a co-worker’s birthday the other night. We started the night with a game of darts then shortly got kicked out by Wednesday dart league. Boooo. Wasn’t really feeling the place at all. Place is cash only and there isn’t a very wide selection on the jukebox.

Yes, this is a total dive bar, which is awesome. They also have a full-size pool table. What isn’t awesome is the way-higher-than-normal prices: $ 17 for a pitcher of PBR? I thought it was $ 10…oh, that’s because it’s karaōke night. Why pay $ 6.50 for my mixed drink here when I could pay $ 5 around the corner at Underground? Also, they don’t take credit cards, you have to use the ATM in the bar. Doesn’t completely suck, but I don’t really make it a point to show up here much. Edit: I realized that I should probably give my favorite staff member’s at Sodini’s some more credit(and another star) — Robert and«Mama Joyce» are pretty awesome, and great with customers. Robert does some pretty awesome karaōke too :)

If you put the words«Dive bar», «Reno», and«Al Bundy» in a Unilocal search you’ll come up with Sodini’s of Redwood City. Not a belligerent drunk to be found at Sodini’s, more of like the friendly Reno looking drunks that just kinda stare at you while you play darts. One of my barmates looked exactly like Al Bundy and the rest look very«No Ma’am» Here’s a little refresher — My favorite part of the night was when I ordered their signature Sodini’s ale and some ale went on to the bartender’s shirt, at which point she yelled, «DAMMIT, NOTONMYBRANDNEWSHIRT!!!». God bless her since her shirt was tye-die, I could only imagine what would come out of her mouth if it was say an Old Navy shirt or from Mervyn’s. Ps. right next door their is a lingerie store that also sells the fishnet lamp from«A Christmas Story».
