HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE To say I am unsatisfied is an understatement. I ordered lanterns for an event and received them dirty, used and with dead bugs and insects inside of the bag. After calling to complain I was told I would have to pay for the restocking fee of the item. I should have received a full refund immediately. Spoke to a supervisor and still not willing to waive a re stocking fee. Very bad business !!! Never again !

Ordered fifteen 18″ paper lanterns, battery-​powered remote-​control LED lights, and a remote control. They arrived on time and all of them worked right out of the box (and after installing batteries). We also ordered 5″ galvanized buckets to put flower arrangements in, and all of them came with plastic liners so there was no leaking or rust. Can’t ask for much more at that price, and it really took some of the stress out of wedding preparations.

Wow! This review is for the online store. Just got my order today. Very impressed. The quality of the 24 inch round and the patterned star are soooo much better than expected. I told all my friends! No more Cost Plus or Pier 1 for me when it comes to paper décor.

I had recently became interested in paper parasols and wanted to get one but no where could be found except for eBay. So I stumbled upon this site while browsing google for answer and you don’t understand how happy I am. This site, company or small business really knows their stuff! I took a look at ALL of their products and it looks legit and high quality. They have decorations, gifts and all sorts of accessories for almost any kind of occasion or event!
They’re so ideal for weddings, baby showers, little get togethers or even a tea party! I wasn’t able to find good quality hand made fans for tai chi purposes but this site offers fans for all sorts of purposes, they’re affordable, and flexible when it comes to buying large quantities. I kid you not, you will not regret buying or ordering from this site if you have some sort of event coming up. You really can’t go wrong, I’m too excited for my order to get home.

OMG. This store is SOOO awesome! I would give it 5 stars if it offered a few more goods, but as far as service, price and quality go — DEFINITELY deserving of 5 stars.
Will I throw Bachelorette party? heck yea! Will I also throw the Bridal Shower? That’s what a good best friend does, so of course. Will they be nice? No, THEY’LL BE FRICKIN AWESOME. First and foremost, I am a meticulous, crafty, picky perfectionist and nothing sub-​par will ever have my name on it so you can trust I will throw some great shindigs.
So what’s the second most important thing at a party? The decorations! (because the drinks and food are obviously most important in my book). So the search for the perfect decorations began. After wading through tons of crap and overpriced paper goods, I was lucky enough to stumble onto this glorious site!
They have paper lanterns for about a buck a piece, paper pom poms for anywhere between $ 4-​$ 15 for a pack of 4 depending on what size you’d prefer, and tons of other really affordable decorations in a wide variety of colors. $ 40 and a ton of paper lanterns and tissue pom poms later, they have gained a very happy new fan. The shipping was cheap and very quick as well. I have already recommended this site to 3 people.

When I couldn’t find what I wanted at the dollar stores, Walmart, Party City, Big Lots, etc, we decided to do the online route. Paper Lantern Store had the best selection for the price!
I spent $ 124 for 60 basic paper lanterns of various colors and sizes for our 20×30 tent. I received the package on time and in good condition, though the box was flatter than I expected. Each lantern with its metal expander and c-​hook was packaged in its own cellophane wrap, and only lantern was busted (in the grand scheme of things, I didn’t care).
Didn’t have to interact with any of their employees, so I can’t comment on customer service.
Very reasonable price for an extremely attractive look. Good color options, no complaints. Recommended.

Decided to get some paper lanterns for a dinner party. First checked out Daiso, and they were selling plain white ones or flowery ones for $ 1.50. Also checked Dollar Store, and they only had polka dotted ones. I was hoping for a little more choice in color, so did a search for «paper lanterns» and was hooked up with the Paper Lantern Store. I didn’t have time to do a on-​line transaction, but I noticed that they were in Redwood City, so I just emailed hoping they could accomodate for a pick up 2 days later when they opened at 8am. I suprisiningly got a response really quickly from Jennifer saying she could get the laterns all packed for me for pick-​up, which made me happy. Day of, i went searching for the store. I think it is actually called Asian Import Store on the storefront. I got there a little earlier than the 8:15 pick up time, so the service person wasn’t in the front, but luckily the warehouse manager helped me out. We had to search for my box, which ulitmately was right in front of us the whole time, I paid, and I was of on my merry way. Setting up the lanterns was not difficult, and they looked great! Only wish i purchased some lights from them, too. Maybe next time. Overall, happy customer!

This place is great! I really love all of their color options. I placed two large online orders for paper lanterns last month for my wedding. The prices are lower than what I could find locally and shipping is super fast. I would happily shop here again for future events.

They have a LARGE choice of lanterns, pompoms, stars and other… but the best of all is the price !
the shipping was fast too, and the quality of the items i ordered is amazing !

I stumbled across this online store while looking for quality lanterns for my surprise engagement proposal. I was looking for some nice cylindrical lanterns but weren’t able to find them at any of the local craft stores (Michael’s, Hobby Lobby, Party City, etc). Asian Import Store has a huge selection of quality lanterns and other kinds of wedding decorations as well. The items looked nice and were decently priced.
I ended up ordering a dozen of the 12″ Beige Izumi Paper Lanterns. I selected the 2 Day shipping option and the shipment arrived on time. Though the tracking info was not emailed to me, a quick email to the customer support solved the problem. Having active customer support was a good sign. All of the lanterns came in good conditions. I planned for a Tangled-​themed proposal and the lanterns worked out perfectly! I’ve posted pics of how the lanterns looked in the end.

I spent a few hours browsing through their website trying to decide if I wanted lanterns and parasols. I ended up ordering 6 28 inch fuchsia paper parasols $ 47.28. They shipped me red parasols, I called them and they emailed me return labels to ship it back. My correct order arrived a few days later. The 28 inch were the prefect size. They looked really nice in my wedding photos and they kept my bridesmaids shaded from the sun. Now they are sitting in a box in the corner of my room… garage sale maybe?

A great source for paper lanterns, pompoms, parasols, favor boxes, and other wedding/​party decoration goodies!
The «store» is well hidden in a business park behind a nondescript door and minimal signage. There are no displays, but you can ask to see samples of anything you want to purchase. The staff is very patient and helpful.
The selection of items is limited, but what they do have (in lanterns, etc.), they have in every color you want.

Love their selection & excellent customer service! I bought 34 large paper lanterns for my wedding, plus the acrylic crystal «ice» and various other goodies for my wedding. They have fantastic selection and I love that I can just drive over there and they’ll help me figure out lantern size, etc etc
I usually call ahead to see if they have what I need in stock and they get the order ready for me, waiting at the front counter. How fantastic is that?!

I found this store while Googling for paper lanterns to decorate our yard for our son’s wedding reception. They had the best prices on lanterns and reasonable shipping costs, so I decided to give them a try.
First, the package arrived very quickly. I was amazed at their speedy shipping.
Second, their customer service has been outstanding. I wrote the company twice. Both times I received a personal reply within hours. One of the lanterns’ wire frames was broken. I emailed them about the problem and a free replacement was sent immediately.
I have been very pleased with Asian Import Store’s products and service and would gladly purchase from them again.

Anyhow, I was hunting for papered goods to decorate my house for my engagement party last May. I used their offshoot website —
— to buy several colorful lanterns. Unfortunately, many of the the colors and sizes that I wanted weren’t in stock. (Especially the «natural» colored ones.)
I ended up ordering too many of the wrong size and wanted to see certain colors in person. So I drove my ass 30 minutes up the bay to check out their warehouse.
My returns and exchanges went smoothly. They understood my situation and didn’t give me a hard time. They also went back to bring out a variety of colors for me to look at (I don’t always trust the website colors.)
The girl at the front was very nice, and helped with everything I needed. They also gave me a free fan (cheap, but nice thought) because I bought so much. :-)
5 star service, with 4 star review b/​c the things I wanted weren’t in stock, and they weren’t sure when it would come in.
But I definitely recommend this place for good deals on asian décor!

In the black hole that is EBAY or Google I found this gem hidden among a lot of rocks. I was assigned by my friend, lets call her «the bride», to find umbrellas for her wedding. I did a massive search on-​line and then as a last resort on EBay /​Google. Boy did I luck out, I’m not exactly sure how I found this place, but I did. I was surprised to find what I was looking for at a good price. Best of all, they were local.
It took about two visits to their offices to get what I wanted. The bride wanted 24 multicolored umbrellas for her wedding. I talked to the owner of Asian Import Store and he said they were out of supply and I needed to come back in a few days for the new shipment of umbrellas.
So for the next few days I badgered them with phone calls until I finally got word that the good were in the warehouse. I showed up just before closing and ordered my umbrellas. They pulled them out of the warehouse and the transaction went smoothly.
With the exception of being called the «Parasol Lady», by the owner, I thought everything else was good. Its a great place to shop for wedding decorations.
You should check out their website fist before going. Its not a store, its big warehouse. What ever you want to buy, they will need to go and grab the items from the shelves.
