I had an annoying shoulder-​neck pain and was referred to the Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Physical Therapy team at Stanford Medicine. I was seen by Tala Khalaf, PT, OMPT, OCS.
She had me lie down on the exam table, and quickly located the «knot», the source of my discomfort. She applied steady pressure to the knot, until it released. She gave me 5 exercises to do to strengthen and stretch my back and shoulders.
And that was it. I went to her a couple of times. I did her exercises and the knot went away.
Easy, uncomplicated, and best of all, problem fixed.
