John’s Custom Floors

We were dissapointed after recieving a bill for $ 340 that John called a «floor consultation» after choosing another company to install our new hardwood floors. We were more than happy to pay for the floor samples, but be sure and ask if there is a charge for an estimate because we were not told there was one.

Wow! When I left for work Thursday morning, I had an old, damaged maple floor. When I returned home the next evening, I had a gorgeous, perfect bamboo floor! John’s work far exceeded my expectations. He is a perfectionist, and it shows in every detail of my new floor.
John was the third wood-​floor person I interviewed, and it was obvious that he was the most professional, detail-​oriented, and reliable person. He explained to me all my wood and trimming options, and he also explained the pros and cons of each option. John does the floor installation himself, which is a huge plus. He also completed the job in just two days, which meant a minimum disruption to my life.
The floor is beautiful and improves the look of my entire living and dining room. John is your go-​to person for your new wood floor!

The owner and true craftsman, John Paulazzo, faced a difficult problem of removing a floating floor plank area for a radiant heat repair. Once the radiant pipe was replaced, he carefully reinstalled the planks. The overall work was excellent. I recommend his work.

We just moved into a new home in Burlingame. John and team did a fantastic job removing carpet and laying down hardwood in the bedroom, as well as refinishing the adjacent bathroom. When giving a quote initially, John was honest and straightforward — said the other floors are all in good condition, so don’t listen to anyone who says you have to redo them — which was refreshing! Super high quality work — brought the wood out to the house a week before to let it breath and acclimate to the area (so that it doestn’ change shape too much after being laid down resulting in gaps). Worked with us to find the best natural stain look. Final product looks great and we would definitely and highly recommend. We’ll plan to work with John going forward for all our refinishing and touch-​up needs.
