Great Clips

One lady was nice and welcoming while the other one didn’t listen what I was saying and she insisted to cut my hair even if I didn’t want. After few clashes I have been kicked out from the shop because I was «yelling at her». When you see someone chopping your hair, you have to raise your tone of voice because there’s no point of return.
The worst this you can do to your customer is don’t listen then and that’s exactly what happened. I don’t recommend it to anyone.

I am just reviewing just for shampoo/​blow out. Walked in and promptly greeted. Place seemed decent upon walk in. Spacious area to sit and wait. Asian lady was very nice that took me back. She did a very thorough job. I appreciated that. While my service price didn’t include a blow dry she did offer to let me do it myself. Thumbs up. I was ok with that. It’s a little pricey service for what it was and charges for this service are different at every GC location, but at least this lady made it worth my while. I’m not sure how they are with hair cutting and as I read multiple bad reviews I’m not sure I would stay for a cut. Idk… GC’s don’t seem geared towards women anyway.

I am confused by the review by Tan Tan J. Can she really be talking about Thuy? I have been going to Thuy for a year now and have recommended friends to go there, who, like me, think Thuy is the best. I have been to top stylists in San Francisco and London and some trained by Vidal Sassoon and quite honestly Thuy gives me the best cut I’ve ever had. And, what I also love, is that she’s quick. She has great intuition for hair and can make all the right cuts without fiddling around and wasting time; I dislike sitting in the chair for 45 minutes whilst a stylist flicks the scissors around. For me, her speed is a blessing. I hate to recommend her so highly because by doing so I might have to wait longer to have her attend to my hair.

Worst hair cut in my life. Kathie goes after you with the clippers like she’s in a timed competition for sheep shearing. I told her not too short. She suggested a #3. I corrected her to use a #5 and told here to just clean up the top. She cut it all way short. I have never before complained about a haircut. This is awful. I did not pay. I won’t go back. I’ll wear a hat for 3 weeks.

I have brought my children here several time and it was always a blah. Depending on the hair dresser, the results and the experience vary. The woman from Panama did a recent job but I have not seen her in a while. The Asian man is nice and at least he tries to go a good job. The Asian woman butchered my sons hair cutting it in literally patched zigzag in the front. When I asked her to fix it, she said that it was his hair line. Ok, sure, it’s hairline but can you cut as strait line? Not coming back here again. The cheap price is just not worth it.

Brought my daughter here today. Worst haircut she’s ever had. Clara pretty much made it uneven all around, and when I asked her to straighten her bangs she basically made me show her how bad it was. No clue how bad this would be. Do these ladies get certified/​licensed? The worst. Never again. This would be the easiest kids hair cut ever and it was a total fail. We don’t just have to get this cleaned up, we have to wait for parts to grow out again.

There is a wonderful lady called Tina that is amazing! She is so sweet, kind and fun to talk to and she is the best hair stylist there! Make sure to have her at Woodside plaza! :)

Came in for a bang trim. The positive was I was able to walk in. The bad: I don’t mind a wet hair bang trim, but the technician did not blow dry my bangs. left side was super longer than my right… huge chunks were not even (texturing is one thing– this was not a texturing dealio). I was able to clean them up at home (thank god). one of my few the Unilocal fails of 2015.

I had my hair cut and styled here a few weeks ago and requested a straight cut, between a quarter and half of an inch of hair cut. The hair dresser chopped off 3+ inches of my hair (we even talked about it — I wanted it just barely touching my shoulders, now it’s just slightly under my ears). I communicated that I am trying to grow my hair out. After the cut, she styled my hair and turned my straight hair into a perfectly round, mushroom-​like style that no one would want to go out in. I went home and straightened it. I had also said that I wanted a «gentle curve» to my straight hair, not round.
Come to find out, a few days later, I started noticing that my hair is longer on one side of the cut than the other and I needed to go get it fixed — went somewhere else, and to correct this first stylist’s error, I am out even more money, and as a result, my hair is even shorter.
I will not be back; do not recommend trusting your tresses in this salon.

Great experience every time I go here. I highly recommend this location both for adult and for children.
Very consistent cut, great products and the mobile app means I never have to wait in line. A+++!

Came in today for a much-​needed haircut after bleaching out my ends, and already paying a previous place much more $$$. I LOVE my haircut. I’m regretting paying for expensive haircuts when someone like Belem is around. Belem also helped with a suggestion for a toner to pick up at Sally’s to cut down on red and brassy hair (previously dyed brown) on top of my head– it worked like a charm! I WILL be back!

I used to really like going here because the service was great, the price was really good and the haircut was good as well.
I, for the first time, checked in online today and arrived around 11:30am. There were only two stylists who were both busy and no one else waiting. The stylist, working closest to the front on the right hand side, finished with her customer and when the child’s mother paid and left another customer walks in. The stylist says hello to him and they talk for a minute or two and look as though they knew each other. She then stops and asked me if I had checked in online which I replied I had and right after she asked me that I distinctly heard her ask him if he had checked in and he said no and then without even a moments hesitation she decided to take him and then tells me that the next stylist will be able to help me.
Really???
I check in online. I arrive and wait, while no one else is there and someone else walks in and because she knows him she decides to just go ahead and take him as if there was no one else there?
So I got up and said that I could come back later because I had other things I could do. I won’t go back on a Sunday ever again and will start looking for other places to get my haircut, which is a shame because I have been going there for over a year. I thought that was disrespectful.

I always come here for my haircuts! Tina always remembers how I want my haircut and even recommends improvements. My friends ask me where I get my hair cut, which is definitely a great sign. Tina is terrific!

Went in today for a walk in appointment and they were able to seat me and cut my hair right away. I wasn’t expecting anything amazing because it is a great clips but was completely blown away by the stylist Connie who did an amazing job. We had a lovely conversation and she did a great job trimming my dead ends and layers.. I will definitely be back to this great clips again, Connie was amazing and she was so sweet and nice to talk to. 10 out of 10 would recommend

Very good cut for the price. Clean. Pleasant. Will go there now instead of Golden Shears.

Good hair cut (at least the stylist named Carmen or sounding like that), cheap price ($ 16), no wait (walk in around 6:20 pm on a Wensday), fast speed (25 mins give or take), flexible hours (until 9pm Monday to Thursday), friendly staff.
I just need to remember I need a number 4 haircut for my next visit.

This one is for Yanet. First of all let me tell you about my hair. It is some very curly, very thick, and also kind of fine. To find the right cut, and the right hair stylist is hard, especially in Redwood City.
For the first time ever in my entire life, I actually encountered a stylist who didn’t just go with what ever I asked for but made sure that what I wanted was explained back to me, and even consulted with my kind of hair.
I like the above shoulder length to my hair, and I walked in with middle of my back hair. Yanet double checked with me every step of the way. Not only that, but but we were able to talk unlike some other stylists I’ve encountered. Some times you end up sitting idly right?
Oh, and not to mention I used the app for great clips and got in much faster than having to sit and wait. This location gets busy in spurts, especially mid day. I originally went in mid day, and had to go back out. It was probably best, or I wouldn’t have come across my new stylist! I officially have a stylist (that’s never happened before.)

I went here again few days ago (yes, I use the IPhone APP to make last minute reservation). This time my haircut was done by Dawne. She take her time to do it perfect to the last detail & she was friendly and talkative. I really enjoy my time there.
I hope that I can request her for my next time visit. A1 job — thank U!
