We use Farm Hill at work a lot, both for individual meals and catering from time to time. The meals are mostly very tasty, my jerk steak paleo lunch was delicious! They also use fresh ingredients and cook the way info at home — low fat and full of natural vitamins. It is a great tasting healthy alternative to when you don’t have time to pack your own lunch or to the myriad of high calorie fat containing take out places.

my friend had sent me a voucher for a free meal from farm hill(for first time customers only), so i figured, why not try it out? i’d actually sampled their cuisine a few months ago at an event and was eager to try a full meal on my own. what is farm hill, you may ask? it is an online food delivery service. you go to their website peruse heir many options, regular, paleo, vegan, and low-carb lunch boxes, place your order, and they deliver it to your door during the window you specify. in addition to lunch boxes, they also have soups, salads, healthy desserts, coffee, tea, and water available. for my first meal, i ordered marc’s paleo salmon box(valued at $ 15) which consisted of japanese style salmon with purple sweet potatoes, steamed spinach with sesame seeds, cucumber and carrot salad, all on top of a bed of kale salad with sesame dressing. it also came with a mini cup of fresh fig. this was my first time ordering paleo anything and i have to say, it was delicious! the salmon was seasoned well and i loved the purple sweet potatoes, which i believe were japanese style b/c i don’t believe i have seen these in an american supermarket. the sesame made for a nice garnish on the steamed spinach, and the raw cucumber and shredded carrot salad had a nice savory zing to it. i really enjoyed the kale salad mixed with the sesame dressing… i really want the recipe for this dressing b/c i can put it on anything and everything! greens, chicken, fish… and the couple pieces of fig were the perfect palate cleanser to end the meal. i was actually very full from this meal, despite the lack of starch… always thought i needed a starch component to feel full, but this meal did the job. i’m definitely looking forward to ordering my next meal from them, and trying another option. they change up their menu every monday, so be sure to check their website for their newest offerings. the fact that they packaged the meal in a recyclable container tells me that they are very conscious about being eco-friendly. i also appreciated that both the cutlery and cutlery bag were biodegradable. two thumbs up for thinking about mother earth! at the moment, they only serve lunch, monday — friday, and you must order by 10am if delivery is between mtn view and san jose, and 10.30am if delivery is between redwood city and palo alto. customers can choose a 30-minute delivery window between 11.30−1pm.
