Urban Oven was one of three«trucks» we hired to do our wedding of 130 guests. We had a pizza oven on site so they left the truck at home and catered on site. Amazing. Everything they served was raved about. They were so accommodating with dietary restrictions– even bringing a gluten free crust for a couple of guests. The meatballs were amazing. The pizza was perfect and not too greasy. My dad is very picky about pizza — he grew up in nyc– and could not stop talking about how great Urban Oven pizza was. Working with Scott before the event was easy and delightful. Go find their truck, eat all the food and then hire them for your event!!!

For $ 10, I just got one of the best pizzas I’ve tasted in Los Angeles. Crust perfect, crisp exterior, chewy melty interior, smokey wood fire flavor. I ordered the fennel sausage and their sausage is great. May not be house made, I don’t care. Everything is perfect. Truck is painted all-black and has a giant smoke stack, hard to miss. Also, my order was fast.

I hit their truck up. I had the cheese and mushroom pizza(not sure of the name). It was excellent… I didn’t even expect it to taste as great as it did. You have my approval.

If there’s anything anyone knows about me, they know I likes me some good pizza! I was caught off guard, usually it’s the heirloom truck parked in front of Silverlake Wine on Mondays and to my surprise the Urban Oven was there instead. Picked the Dragon out of the lineup, but everything looked good off the menu. If you wanna know just how good this pizza is, let me put it to you this way. I ordered the pizza at 5pm, devoured it by 5:16pm and had to write a review at 5:23 pm. Why are you still reading this? Go get you some! Oh, and the 2 dudes on the truck helping me were just awesome!

This food truck offers wood fired pizzas! It was good, but not uhhmeezing like other wood fired pizzas I’ve had recently. The pizza I had pepperoni and jalapeño. It was okay… it was a little burnt too. Kind of expensive($ 12 – 14?) especially for its small size but I guess that’s to be expected from a food truck. Maybe I should try the margherita?

I’ve never had pizza this good, maybe in my life. I do not know what is different about it, or how they made it. It’s like there’s a secret pizza ingredient in it or something. I ordered the Fennel Sausage pizza. In my opinion 100% worth the 10 dollars. This feels like a singular culinary experience.

2 years later, decided to get the same pizza. The Dragon — Pomodoro, Fresh Mozzarella, Pepperoni, Crimini Mushrooms, and Jalapeños + sausage Mushrooms changed. Pizza center is still thin and crisp without feeling too much bread. But the end of the pizza has a thicker bread/less ingredients spread. Means they’re doing things too quick. Or using less ingredients on the pizza. Flatten the bread more and spread more ingredients to the edges of the pizza would make it back to a 5 star. Also covering the pizza to the edge w ingredients would make them different from other pizza food trucks. Overall, still better pizza than other pizza food trucks. Ingredients are fresh. Bread is thin and crisp. I hope they don’t become like other pizza trucks where it’s all bread.

Scott and his crew catered our wedding in Santa Barbara. Everything with Urban Oven was perfect, from the tasting to the paperwork, to the wedding itself. Scott was very easy to work with throughout the entire process. On the wedding day, everything went perfectly. Most importantly, the pizza was some of the best I’ve ever had. Everyone complimented us on our choice. As the groom, I couldn’t help but have about 9 slices myself. The bacon onion pizza and the mushroom were absolutely delicious. Also, they put all the leftover pizzas in pizza boxes and neatly stacked them for guests to take home with them. I’m so glad Urban Oven helped make our wedding so memorable.

$ 10 for a personal pizza and $ 2 for bottled water. The pies were pretty darn tasty! We got sausage and then a bacon/onion one. They were delish! Quick, friendly service. For other good pizza try 800 degrees and Pitfire too. I would eat at the Urban Oven again. Great pizza on wheels.

Imagine going to an event and all you see are food trucks when you wanted something real and delicious. I was lucky to find The Urban Oven among those trucks! They have a moving oven so that they can make your specific order fresh in the oven right when you order it! Pizza comes out hot and ready to eat! Ingredients are fresh and it’s personal size! I was able to try The Dragon, and The Sausage. THESAUSAGE was delicious! This is the one that you want to get when you find The Urban Oven. It’s got Comodoro, mozzarella, fennel sausage and fennel pollen. They say they make all their sausages on their own so it’s always fresh, and they always know what goes in it. THEDRAGON was also really good. It has Comodoro, mozzarella, pepperoni, crimini mushrooms, and jalapeños. Honestly, they could’ve use a little more jalapeños on the mushroom, because there was like…3. But overall, the pizza was good and I’d get this one again. Both pizzas didn’t feel too heavy or greasy, and it was a good size to not stuff you. I liked the crust… the pizza and crust were not too thin, but just thin enough for my liking. The pizza also took about 10 minutes from order to mouth. Of course I thought it was completely worth it and would definitely get The Urban Oven again when I see it!

Simple Pie Ordered the fennel sausage pizza for $ 10 + water for another $ 2. Took probably 10 minutes for it to come out. I loved the crust. The fennel wasn’t all that strong. All in all, ok. Still hungry though, as it was about a 10″ pie and I need a bit more to maintain my figure.

The Urban Oven killed it today at the #Brake4Lunch event in El Segundo! Their wood fired pizzas are ready in less than 5 minutes and are sooo good! I tried the Fennel Sausage(with hand-made sausage!!), the Tre Verde(mozzarella, asparagus, green onion, kale, etc.) and the Dragon(mozzarella, crimini mushrooms, pepperoni, jalapenos). I really couldn’t tell you which was best — they were all GREAT! I am weak — but the Dragon was a little too hot for me — but I am weak so if your not — you will be fine. The Fennel Sausage is a quality sausage pizza. The Tre Verde is so juicy and healthy feeling(tasting)! Plus the crew is great looking and totally cool! Give them a try when you see them — I know that they will be opening a couple of restaurants in the next year — Downton LA and Sherman Oaks = more opportunities to try them!

Honestly some of the best Pizza ever! I tried all three and the meat and cheese was my favorite. Got to chat with owner and he was so cool. These guys really take pride in their pizza and are all about top notch ingredients. Really reasonable prices and pizza is ready pretty quickly. Crust was thin and crispy and def didn’t taste like a generic pizza. Truly impressed!

つº oº つ RAISEYOURCUTLERY つº oº つ Quick Bite: The pizza from this truck is mediocre. It’s fairly priced, but it almost seems like something I could make at home. Full Review: I adore pizza, so ordering from this truck got me pretty damn stoked. The concept behind The Urban Oven is to bring Italian-style wood-fired pizza to hungry people, wherever they may be. Pizza is so easy to eat while standing around, I don’t know why there aren’t more trucks that serve it. The menu isn’t terribly adventurous, which made it easier to order what I was going to order all along: A Margherita pizza. My pizza finally arrived. In a word, it was mediocre. Everything about it is so-so, right down to each ingredient. In my humble foodie opinion, the greatest component to a great pizza is the crust. If you’re gonna make an exceptional pizza, you better bring your A-game on the dough. Seriously. Good crust on Italian-style pizza is crispy, thin, and a little chewy. The flavor of the crust on this particular pizza was blah, it tasted like the crust on the very first pizza I ever made. Not to mention the texture was just chewy, the char that one would expect was not there. Also, this is really more of a preference than anything else, but the basil shouldn’t be served in huge leaf form. Taking a bite from the slice drags the whole leaf in, it’s better to use either smaller leaves or julienne them or something. Just saying. Anyway, while I admire the staff of The Urban Oven for working right next to an incredibly hot oven for extended periods of time, but your Hamilton is better spent elsewhere.

People ignore all the bad reviews! These guys are awesome. I have heard about their pizza before and I was lucky to try it at Barnsdall Friday night wine tasting event, yum yuum yuuuum! Soooo delicious and thin crust crust wood oven pizza! I tried their Tre Verdi pizza but next time I want to try Crimini Mushroom. My friend took their Dragon pizza and loved it. You can’t go wrong with any of them. I can’t wait till I try them again at another event, who knows where. I must find their location schedule where they will be :-)

Wow wow wow. This pizza is delicious! I got the margarita pizza and an arugula side salad, but after tasting my co-workers dragon pizza I knew I made a GRAVE mistake, that thing was heavenly! Freshly made to order, friendly crew and delicious pizza. This is not to say anything bad about the Margarita, it was delicious, but nothing compared to the dragon pizza. This lunch was the most enjoyable lunch I’ve had in a while. Only complaint — I was hungry within an hour of eating it.

The Dragon from the Urban Oven Truck was definitely the best way to kick start my night at First Fridays in Venice. The truck was located in the main area right off of Abbot Kinney but surprisingly there was no wait. The pizza was made immediately and it was absolutely delicious. The Dragon has pepperoni, shiitake mushrooms, and jalepenos. $ 10 for a pizza seemed a bit steep for me since the size wasn’t too impressive, but given the whole overpriced food trucks trend, it was definitely better than half of the things I ate that night and looking back, it was worth the price.

Summary: I tried the pizza here recently and it was great. This truck was parked next to another truck when I saw it. It is all black on the outside and is some sort of chalk board material so it actually didn’t catch my eye at first. What happened was I bought food from the other truck and while i was waiting for my food i walked over to The Urban Oven truck. The fire wood oven inside the truck really caught my attention. My friends had a vendor booth nearby and I told them about it. They ended up trying it and said it was really good. Later that night, I wandered back and bought a pizza for myself and yes it was good. Pizza tried: Mushroom Bacon/Caramelized Onion The ingredients tasted great. There wasn’t that much but i was satisfied. I thought the crust tasted pretty good and there was just enough of it. Service: very friendly people
