This was the hangout spot in the late 70′& early 80’s. I would spend hours and a gang of quarters here. I havent been here in about 10 years, i was hoping it was still here, it is and its better than ever. U name an arcade or system game and they have it. The games are only .25-.50cent to play, say what? This place is massive and so well kept up, the games and establishment are really clean and roomy. The only thing i wish they had some pinball machines.

25 cent games, a mini«roller-coaster», air hockey, and great prizes. What more can you ask for? This place is great for a date or for family. It looks sort of boring and like there isn’t much to do compared to Santa Monica pier. Well, we all know that looks can be deceiving. I had so much fun here and time just fly by. I was a little skeptical about it at first, but I’m so glad I gave it a chance. First thing I tried was the air hokey of course. They were only 50 or 75 cents. I can’t remember, but it was inexpensive and it lasted awhile. Then we went for the water shooter to win tickets. That was only one quarter! You win 25 tickets or you can get a blow up animal. They also have this game next to it. Really simple. You have to pitch the ball inside of this hole and trust me the hole is very close. It’s only $ 3 to play and you get a few balls. BESTPARTOFTHATGAMEISEVENIFYOULOOSE… YOUSTILLWINTHEPRIZE!!! Awesome right? Another one I played for about 2 hours. Okay, I know it is a bit much. Everyone was being very competitive and I needed to win. It’s a horse race on the top, but you are sort of bowling. You sit and roll a ball inside this box looking thing. There is 3 colors inside that box, but the goal is to roll the ball to the blue color. The one all the way on top. That makes your horse go faster and win the race. I kept loosing because my ball kept falling in red making my horse go very very slow. After an hour of practice I kept winning everyone. Yes, it took me one hour to get a hour to get a hang of it. At least I finally started winning. The cool part about this game is the price. Only 25 cents and if you win you get 25 tickets. Something important to remember is that 25 tickets Is 1 token when you go claim your prize. The last game I will mention is one that everyone has to try, but most likely no one will win. At least no one I went with won. It’s a shooting game. It’s only $ 1 and you win a GIANTPLUSHANIMAL. I really wanted a huge panda I saw hanging up in the ceiling, but I knew it was almost impossible. You get 100 shots. It sounds like a lot, but they are 100 very quick shots. You have to shoot a paper, but only inside the red star. One shot outside and you loose. I couldn’t believe my sister got all the shots and somehow just one went out. She has never fired a gun. I guess it was beginners luck. It made it even more frustrating because she was so close. Price for the mini roller-coaster is only $ 2. If it is a rainy day they let you ride for 50 cents. Most of the games are very inexpensive. You can keep playing over and over again and not waste too much money. Oh, they have purses, kitchen ware, toys, basketballs, souvenir t-shirts, things for your house and so much more for prizes. It’s so east to get a lot of tickets and so much fun. I will definitely be coming back soon!

The Redondo Fun Factory is a must-see in Redondo, even if you are not a gamer or not with a kid. It has some creepy old games and it is worth just wandering around to look at. If I can pick two phrases to describe this place it would be «creepy» and«old school.» Creepy comes in with all of the old clown décor and puppet show game. It is totally old school with the various arcade games like multiple Pacman machines and the Simpsons. Some of the prizes are downright bizarre. If you win enough tickets/tokens, you can get your own deli slicer. I mean, what 8 year old doesn’t want a deli slicer! There are also options to buy the prizes instead of earning them through the games. Seriously, just wander around. It’s a pretty cool, weird place.

A great place to be a kid! Tons of games to choose from and be entertained. All the games and rides are reasonably priced and much cheaper on rainy days! Hahaha I’ll be back for sure on a rainy day!

This is a sad, sad place. It seemed kind of interesting because it was so retro, but that quickly faded. Stuffy, dirty, strange employees, and prizes that looked like they were pulled out of a Goodwill trash dumpster. Games release prize tickets and those tickets are then converted into tokens. 215 tickets got us a «surprise box» with an old looking eyeshadow and a rusted metal brooch! No joke! It was either that or a cheap plastic measuring cup. Other strange prizes included a large gold wall mirror for 2,500 tickets, an aluminum cookware set for 5,000 tickets, and something labeled Holy Water for 175 tickets.

Can you say Redondo FRAUD Factory instead? These carnies have been defrauding kids for years with bait and switch activities that are shameless. The place is filthy and staff rude and dirty. They brazenly break the law by advertising prize values that are«converted» from tickets to tokens at a ratio of 1⁄25 and is only disclosed in small print at the prize station. Not a place for families at all. Stay away from these criminals — they are the worst.

Prices are reasonable… about .50/game and $ 2/ride on the tilt-twister. There is only one ride but there are a lot of games and they seemed to pay a lot of tickets. Better than chuck e cheese if you are already here on the boardwalk. We ate, walked around and then played a little. Fun way to kill an afternoon.

depressingly run down and dreary, including the staff. the lady at the change booth insisted on finishing her mascara before giving me quarters. we brought our 8 month old daughter here after having lunch on the pier, hoping to show her some fun colors, games, and sounds during her first visit to an arcade. instead, it felt like we’d broken into a dead neighbor’s warehouse. this end of the pier is in desperate need of a renovation.

Anyone who grew up in the South Bay probably remembers coming here as a child. This arcade is huge and has a wide variety of video and carnival games as well as a tilt-a-whirl ride. You could for sure spend a couple hours here and be entertained the whole time. I took one star off because the place is old. Some of the games don’t work so you lose your quarters(I’m sure you could ask for a refund but we didn’t bother for 25 cents). Some of the games are physically breaking down, which can cause injuries to young children who aren’t aware. Lastly, their prize selection is odd and unless you have collected a lot of tickets, you won’t get anything great.

The Redondo Fun Factory is a great place to stop by and has a throwback appeal with the retro vintage original coin op video games in the arcade which are still only $ 0.25 to play, including such 1980’s classics as Defender, Asteroids, Space Invaders, Robotron, Joust, Pac Man, Centipede, Millepede, and others that many in their late 40’s to early 50’s today remember as kids growing up. If someone is playing the game you want, don’t forget to put your quarter on top of the edge of the machine to indicate you have the«next game» :) In addition to the video games, also including stuff for kids from the 90’s who are now in their late 20’s to 30’s and modern games of today too. There’s interactive games like air hockey, skee ball and fooseball too, as well as carnival type«win a prize» type games where you vie for tickets to redeem for prizes. There’s even a tilt a whirl type carnival spinning ride inside too. It’s a bit run down, but that adds to the charm. I’d love to see it expand a bit and for investments to be made to create a larger arcade, similar to Las Vegas’ Pinball Hall of Fame or the Mechanical Museum over in San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf Pier area, to give So Cal a cool hip place to hang out. It’s a nice place to visit when on the Redondo Beach pier, and near the parking lot too.

It gets worse and worse with each visit… More games with black screens or just not working. Some(I noticed more than one) with the screens frozen. Lots of games with their display color distorted or messed up. Everything looks more beat than I remember. Turn this place into a nickel arcade and it’ll be tons of fun, but in the meantime, overpriced.

The Redondo Fun Factory is the most magical place in the world. I come here often, usually drunk on Fire Chiefs, and ride the Tilt-A-Whirl over and over until I almost vomit. This place is scuzzy; it ain’t no Disneyland. Most of the coin-op rides are rusty, with peeling paint and sharp edges just ready to puncture your child and give him Tetanus. Just kidding… kind of. It’s fun to win a bunch of tickets and claim a «surprise box». You never know what you’ll get! I’ve won some interesting stuff: do-rags, magnetic photo frames branded with«a night to remember», hair ties, cassette tapes of unknown rappers, mini flags of unknown sports teams, and an assortment of random plastic objects that serve no purpose. Come here on a rainy day and your Tilt-A-Whirl ride is $ 0.50. It smells like fried fish always. **Redondo Fun Fact: They exchange quarters instead of tokens. Git yer laundry money here, folks!

Came for a quick hang out. Walked along the pier and saw fun factory. Decided to stop by and try out the ride, fun and cheap little place. The lady handing out the tickets is rude and needs to quit because she definitely looks like she doesn’t want to be there. Really kills the mood for other people. They need to hire someone else. She’s lazy too. Apparently if it’s raining outside tickets at 50cents. So we told her it’s raining and she literally took forever to help us. She would NOT get up from her seat and was trying to switch the sign from her seat. get up and help people who are waiting in line lady! There’s was probably 5 people behind me. Customer service lacked but I guess the rides are fun for how cheap it is

I would give negative stars if I could. I’ve never liked this place and now I can’t stand it here. My 11 year old daughter won the jackpot on a game for 125 measly tickets the worker didn’t even check the machine just said«No, she didn’t win»… If I’m going to lie about winning tickets I sure the heck aren’t going to say 125 tickets… No customer service, the place is a dump, rude people here. Can’t believe we spent any money in the crap hole.

I went there yesterday with my 2 yr old and we both had fun! Yes — the place is old; Yes — they need to upgrade EVERYTHING; Yes — they need to hire better looking people ;) Yes — it stinks of fish because they’re right across fresh fish market… but my 2 yr old doesn’t know the difference and she had so much fun going from horse to duck, to choo choo train, to tickling Booda’s toes… hee hee. And I had fun riding a red hot bike and so what if it was from the last century! although would have preferred to dance to some current music instead of Japanese pop from 80s. Oh, I love how no one cared that my baby was hanging out on the top of the games and tables. We spent a whole hour there terrorizing the place — not a peep from anyone :) :) :) Everything baby used was 25 cents! So the place is SUPERCHEAP! Advise to management — upgrade the place a bit and you’ll get more locals and less Campton.

I just went with my boyfriend here this past weekend and last night. It’s a decent sized arcade area, decent arcade games, and a ride. A lot of the arcade games are old school; Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Mortal Combat, The Simpsons, Space Invader, Centipede, Time Crisis. A good amount of them are rundown, but I give them credit for having the games working. Some of the games sound is distorted and sometimes freezes because they don’t keep up maintenance which is a letdown. They also have Foosball, air hockey, ski ball, and a bunch of ticket games. The prizes for the tickets aren’t great — it’s like the prizes are from 20 years ago. Haha. The prices range between 25⁄50 cents. They even have PUMPITUP Fiesta(a dance game, like DDR, but way better) — 25 cents for 2 – 3 songs! Dave & Buster’s PIU is about $ 1.50 each. So when we found our game, we literally played for an hour and half straight. MORETHANAWESOME. We just went last night with $ 17 and it lasted 3 hours for both of us and that’s what won us over with this place. During the week, there is maybe 15 people in the arcade at a time. The weekend is packed with family and children. so if you’re not big on crowded and packed places, during the week is the way to go. Parking is not too hard. We’ve gone the weekend and the week. It’s one of those«pay at station» things at the pier. Monday-Friday: $ 1.50/1hr, after 6PM it’s free. Saturday-Sunday: $ 1.50/1hr throughout the whole day. All in all, this place is rundown and dirty BUT it’s a fun place if you like arcade games and are on a budget — this is the place to have fun and play around.

This place really probably only deserves 1 or 2 stars, but I give it 3 because, even though the entire pier smells like fish and the entire arcade is covered in a layer of grime decades-old, I still find myself coming here with one of my best friends to regress into our inner-child and play matches of air hockey, skii ball, foozball, horse-racing, and yes, occasionally ride the Tilt-a-Whirl. The sheer fact that an old school arcade like this still exists deserves more stars. Its a shame more people– adults and children– don’t find this form of entertainment worthy of their free time. The staff doesn’t engage at all with customers(in my experience), and the toys offered for ticket prices are absolute crap. I mean, like we have 500 tickets saved up and can’t find anything worthy of taking home. But we aren’t here for the prizes– we’re here for the $.50 games of air hockey, which no matter how many times I play her, my friend ALWAYS beats me by ONE point. Its a tradition almost a decade-long between us, and I can’t just freakin’ get one more point on her… argh Even if you don’t play any games here, WASHYOURHANDS, even if you just walk through and don’t actually touch anything. Germs have been hovering here for half a century. They’ve taken on a supernatural level of germhood.

This place is perfect to let the kids run loose. Well at least mine. They are not toddlers anymore. this place is always packed always alive. Adults and children can have some fun here. Cashing in your tickets suck though. The prizes are ridiculously beyond generic. But it’s fun winning the tickets. I am just happy that there is an arcade here at this pier for my kids. After playing in beach they also have other fun things to do.

My friend and I attended the ‘free’ summer concert series on the Redondo Beach Pier. We stopped by took a look, seemed a tad lame so we decided to walk around. While walking around we came across the Redondo Fun Factory which is located near the old marina just adjacent to the Pier. I had not been to arcade in quite some time so I figured now was as good a time as any to accept the challenge that my friend laid out of loser pays for breakfast in a game of air hockey. We walked in exchanged $ 10 into quarters; this place actually still uses quarters so if you decided to stop playing you have something in your pocket that you can actually use as cash. My friend and I immediately walked over to the air hockey tables which were $ 0.75 cents to play. We played two games and I won both=) After the crushing defeat I took my friend around and we played several others games including basketball, skee ball, new age shooting games, old school video games(i.e. Pac-Man which I claimed the high score of), ball at bottle games, deal or no deal and many others. We really had a good time, laughed and collected tickets for prizes at the end of the evening. When you want to cash in your tickets you have to feed them into a machine yourself, the machine produces a receipt with the amount of tickets earned which you take over to the person(s) working behind the prize counter. As we walked around trying to decide between a full scale sail boat, a mystery box, holy water(yes that kind of holy water) or maple syrup(no joke) I decided we should give the tickets to a kid and make their day and that is exactly what we did. I will have to say it was quite fun. The place looks old but it has the right type of vibe. A majority of the games have something wrong with them but if you can get past that you will truly have a good time. We were here in the evening and it was still quite hot inside. The crowd itself was a mixture of parents, screaming kids and a few riff raffs walking around but everyone kept to themselves. If the parking situation was better I would probably come around these parts more often until that issue is solved I will make my appearance every 7 – 10 years FYI I cashed in on the ‘free’ breakfast at The Kettle the following morning.

Hard deciding one or two stars for this Fun Factory. I pity the foo’? The place is pretty jenky for the lack of words. How so? Barely anyone there, and some games don’t quite work. I wanted change for a $ 5, but the lady gave me $ 5 in quarters. Thanks lady for the coin service to my future parking meters? Well, this is one of the only places around that has an arcade, so, I made it two stars because it’s in Redondo Beach? 75 cents for bad air hockey? I guess?
