Since I had a two hour break from jury duty I rode down Torrance Blvd. and ended up at the Redondo Beach Pier. I walked around and ended up at this establishment. I asked the older Asian woman if she served Clam Chowder and she answered«outside is cheaper and inside cost more» I told her that I didn’t care about the price and sat inside and ordered my clam chowder which was as salty as the lady and served in a styrofoam cup and my lemonade in a to go cup! Here I am paying more and get served like a peasant, while the family behind me is being treated like customers… I hate the service there! I didn’t tip her and I did pay with a large bill purposely. Only good thing about that place is the view. The only reason they get a star is because I have no option or my comment will not post almost forgot to say that it was the Redondo Beach Crab house

Waiting 15 minutes for a check and another waitress had to ask us if we needed anything. They are clearly understaffed. Food came really fast… quality of the food isn’t so great. great view. I wouldn’t come back here.

We strolled the pier and stopped in for crab, steamed sweet shrimp, and Hawaiian garlic shrimp. I enjoyed the quick stop-In for seafood by the sea, I don’t think crab is in season yet. It crab legs were pretty small and not s lot of meat and it wasn’t that sweet. The sweet shrimp wasn’t big in size and didn’t taste that juicy. I like the Hawaiian garlic shrimp. It goes good with white rice. I had the clam chowder bread bowl, it was pretty good in taste. I always crave for clam chowder. I usually like to buy it home, steam it, and go crazy at it with lemon & salt & pepper. It was a bit expensive.

This is a great place to eat some steamed crab. Try to get a table by the water and enjoy your meal. The spicy seafood soup will fill 4 people and is a perfect compliment to the steamed crab. Come and enjoy some wicked Korean food.

This place wasn’t horrible, but definitely not worth it. It has a very nice view of the ocean and is pretty clean. Their fresh oysters were pretty good with the lemon, but their spicy sauce was way too spicy and didn’t help bring out any of the flavor. Their spicy seafood soup was nothing special. The octopus was overcooked, the shrimp were tiny, it wasn’t very spicy, and the vegetable they have on top tasted really strange(but my mom liked it). The mussel in the soup was good though. Their fresh crab(waitress said that their smallest one was at least 2lbs) is $ 20.99/lb. It was tiny and had this weird bitter taste. They give you wooden hammers and bins to prevent the oil and the crab juice from getting onto your clothes. Not sure if I will come back again.

I came here a few years ago with family, and decided to come tonight with some friends. service was not there. lol the lady at the front collecting money was little to no help when I asked for market prices. ordered sashimi platter(medium for $ 59.99) and a Dungeness crab($ 29.99/lb) and I was not satisfied. they should probably tell you what kind of fish each is when they serve it to you. my boyfriend and I didn’t eat 10 pieces because we had no idea what it was. the quality sucked too. crab was crab, kind of hard to mess that one up. will not be returning. but I hear pacific seafood is much better, will be going there next !

To be honest, this place wasn’t that bad. After reading the other reviews, I was a bit scared at first, but eased in as the food was pretty nice. Our family ordered raw baby octopus, steamed shrimp, raw blue point oysters, clam chowder in a bread bowl, and the fried scallop plate with fries and coleslaw. Although the waiter, which we assumed was a trainee, forgot our rice until we told them, the service in general was pretty good. Lovely view of the beach as it was right next to it, and picturesque. Raw baby octopus — This plate was the best plate we ordered besides the oysters. It had a juicy and chewy but not too chewy taste, and I recommend using the sauce that they give you even if it is spicy. They gave us a good quantity of octopus, and our family of five even had to take some home afterwards. Steamed shrimp — When these came, we were really surprised by the size of these, as they were small, but they came in a very large quantity. We also took some of these home after we could not finish this. The shrimp has water in them, so it makes them juicy and basically taste like ocean water, but toned down on the salt. I’d say almost 90 percent of the shrimp had eggs in them, which were nice. Meat was small as you’d assume because the shrimp were the size of a pocket sized hand sanitizer. Raw oysters — The oysters were very fresh and were accompanied by a lettuce leaf, lemon, and some really spicy sauce. Tastes like any other fresh seafood restaurant’s blue point oysters, but they were pretty good. Scallop plate & clam chowder — These were nothing really that special, it was just the usual you’d find in any other seafood restaurant. The clam chowder was served in a nice sour dough bread however.

I have been here many times and the service still sucks. They are disorganized. Although the food tastes just like most seafood house I have been around the pier, I still think they have the nicest view of the beach. Just needs improvement on the efficiency. I came here on a Sunday with family and friends for lunch since this was the only reataurant that was not so crowded on a peak hour. It figures… it was horrible service that day

The crab house consistently has fresh raw seafood and the ocean views while dining are an added plus. We opted for the hwe dup bap which is raw fish with veggies, like Hawaiian poke. Just add white rice and the spicy pepper sauce, mix together and enjoy. The sea squirt(mung keeh) was fresh and accompanied with lettuce, raw garlic, and bean paste so you can make your own lettuce wrap.

This restaurant is me and my familys go to spot. They have a lot of tables available. It is clean inside. They also have restrooms inside as well. They also serve kimchi. The restaurant over looks the ocean. Beautiful scenic view. It isn’t loud either inside the restaurant. People greet you once you arrive to the restaurant and also wishes you a good day once you leave. Friendly service. They serve Korean food as well as fresh seafood. I always have a satisfying time whenever I visit this place with my family. I will return again.

Been coming here for over 30 years. I’m sure ownership must be change many many times but if you like Korean style sushi and steamed crab then this is the place. Price is not cheap but gotta love this place.

Worst expensive meal I’ve had. We spent more than $ 180 for sashimi combination and lobster. The sashimi was not mush fish for the price, and a couple of the cuts were chewy and nasty. Personally, I do not usually care about the price for the food. But I believe that we had to pay $ 10 for this food. It was AWFUL. We went back to the hotel after the dinner and we ordered $ 10 cheesecake and it was much much much better than the sashimi and lobster. The WORST dining experience I’ve ever had!

It wasn’t as fun as our fave spot nearby, Quality Seafood but the experience was ok. We had an attentive server and a great view of the beach! We enjoyed our large Dungeness crab, a dozen of steamed mussels and a big bottle of Hite and all was good! I prefer DIY crab-breaking style. Bathroom needs improvement.

Ordered the large Hawaii Garlic Shrimp, which is only the shrimp(no rice or coleslaw) for $ 20.99. It was so delicious, that I didn’t have time to take a photo of it. There was a generous amount of shrimp– enough to share between 2 people. The garlic sauce was good enough for us to eat with rice after we were finished eating the shrimp. My brother ordered the sea squirt, out of curiosity. When he asked our server what it was, her response was«Koreans like it.» haha! The texture of sea squirt is rubbery and slimy, but I can’t describe the taste. We surprisingly enjoyed it, but it’s not for everyone. Our server was very nice and checked on us often. When the fish in the fish & chips were cold in the middle, she happily took it back and gave us new and hot fish.

Probably one of the worst restaurants that I’ve been in. We were forgotten about after we sat down and had to remind them to serve us(not a busy day either) We ordered oysters and they were honestly the worst oysters I’ve ever tasted. I couldn’t even finish 3 of 12 oysters. oysters were far from fresh. Stay away. Expensive too

I’ve been to this place a long time ago, and it ain’t cheap. Although I can’t say it’s worth the price, since some might find the other side of the pier has a lot cheaper food just as fresh. I still like this place for its quality and the taste of it. Plus the korean hot sauce made everything taste better in my opinion! My friends and I didn’t order anything fried or the meat, just seafood and all of us thought it was good :) The service was ok, I think they could be more attentive, but we didn’t really need much from them anyway so our time there was good.

LIVELIVESEAFOOD Parents were taking me out for birthday lunch so they decided on this place. I usually goto the other korean crab house at the end of the pier. The interior of the place was clean & cute & the glass windows open up the view to the beach so you could see everyone having FUN in the sun. The staff was friendly & set a table for us right by the window with the view & brought us some hot tea water to start. I would have to say the price of seafood at the moment was like sky high. Live dungeness crab was priced at $ 22.50 /lb. LIVEDUNGENESSCRAB — would have to say I prefer the other korean resteraunt for the crab because their crab has more flavor because of the base that they cook it in. LIVESWEETSHRIMP — they sell them by the lb. & they serve them with the head on which still had moving eyes. Very old korean people style I would have to say… it was a little too much for me. Much prefer them without the head connected still. They also fried the heads after we finished & they sure had a lot of meat on them. SEAFOODSOUP(MAEUNTTANG) — refreshing although my family loves broth & there wasn’t that much. Wish there was a burner under to keep it hot though. LIVEABALONE — love abalone & they also left the gut part on the side as well which is my dad’s favorite part LARGESASHIMIPLATTER — not bad… had about 7 different kinds of raw fish. Service was quick but the food came out pretty slow but probably because we were actually sitting down & ordered compared to the other place where you order & pay & then they seat you. The bathrooms were my worst experince because I much prefer the other place where they have a hand washing sink outside of the bathroom. The bathroom here smelled like pee & it was super small space with 2 tiny stalls. Overall I feel like this place was a fun experience and plus I was with parents and grandparents so nothing could have been bad.

Oooooooold skool korean family hang out joint, this place has my heart. My wife and I went for a late afternoon lunch with the family, and the natural sweetness of the crab served here is still as good as I remember it. To be frank, it puts most lobsters I’ve had to shame, which they also have. Great fried-everything here as well btw. This place used to be, alongside a well known San Pedro joint, where korean families would take relatives for special occasions, or when we had visitors from Korea. Happy to see that tradition being carried on. Been coming to this place since ’90 and will be coming back for more.
