Ramin Abdo, DDS

I had a dentist that I had used over the course of a few years. Then, during a filling procedure, I noticed a less than steady hand which soon dropped a metal frag down my throat causing me to leap up from that almost prone position to gag violently. As a nervous patient walking into the office, this did little to increase my calm and comfort. A new dentist was in order.
I tried a large office with a discount deal. Bad idea. It felt more like 90 minutes of vacation timeshare sales than dentistry.
I looked on Unilocal and other review sites for another recommendation. I found very little. Somewhat randomly, I located Dr Abdo and tried him. (His office was close by, so what the hell.) I felt I lucked out. I also felt compelled to write a review for future dental seekers who found themselves in the same I-​need-​a-​dentist fog.
Dr. Abdo was good. He used a conservative approach in his care recommendations instead of the ‘lets tear out everything old in your mouth and replace with new’ ideas I had heard. As a life-​long dental chicken, I kept my eyes shut and gripped a lot, but I have to admit I felt reasonably comfortable underneath his drill, at least as much as is possible once you start smelling that smoke that wafts out of your mouth. Both he and his staff were friendly, and they were clear about pricing — which seemed consistent with the cost of other dentists. (Not necessarily affordable, but show me something with Dr. in front of it that is…)

Update: still fantastic. Dr. Abdo and his office are wonderful:
I’ve always been seen at my scheduled appointment time or just a few minutes after. And unlike the archaic-​looking machinery at other dentists’ offices, they use relatively recent technology: the x-​rays are quick and show up on-​screen immediately, and he uses a camera with a light to show you and explain what’s going on with your teeth. So you’ll know exactly what’s going on and how he’s fixing it.

I cannot recommend Dr. Abdo’s office highly enough.

I love this dentist. He is very gentle and caring. He squeezed me in after breaking a toothe the day before. Rather than make me pay a fortune for a crown. which I told him I couldn’t afford, he worked with what I had left of the molar and sort of capped it with a silver filling. He was very understanding about my financial situation and gave me a big break. My tooth is great now. I would highly recommend this dentist.

Just moved here and had to find a dentist. So glad I found Dr. Abdo! He is so kind and really spends time explaining what he’s doing. I had a partial crown and everthing went smoothly. Used to have a huge space where food always got caught, he fixed that and just did a great job!!! I also had a cleaning and she was wonderul. So glad we found such a wonderful dentist and staff! Highly recommended!!!

Hard to find a good, genuine dentist who’s truly caring but I found one! Great caring staff, professional and helpful. Contrary to most other offices you hardly EVER wait in the waiting room, what a rare concept these days… to be seen at your actual appointment time! Dr. Abdo’s gentle hand and demeanor really make your dental experience positive. Highly recommend this office.
