I always order the same thing here: spinach crêpe with potato pancakes, yassssss. The crêpe is filled with yummy mushrooms and spinach and topped with hollandaise sauce. The potato pancakes come with sour cream and applesauce– YUMZ. They always drop off the check with your meal and then you go pay in the front. The wait is pretty much always atrocious on weekend mornings, so show up early or be prepared to wait. Service is… efficient. I don’t mind that their service lacks warmth in order to preserve efficiency, but this past visit left me annoyed. Seating is verrrrrrrry close together. Our server was cool, but decided to partake in theeeee longest and LOUDEST conversation with the table next to us. I get it was friendly conversation, but it’s already loud inside the restaurant and his booming voice while gabbing on and on was a bit intrusive as he was standing over me while conversing with them. Other than that, this is a no muss no fuss brunch place, bomb!

OPH is definitely not shy with the portion sizes. It seems like everything on the menu is large enough to feed a couple of people. I had a veggie crêpe and am so glad I asked for the cheese and hollandaise sauce on the side because it would’ve been WAYTOOMUCH saucy stuff. It came with potato pancakes which were good.

Great place for breakfast, portions are huge. I love the chocolate chip pancakes and the Hawaiian pancake. But their signature Apple pancake is a must try for first time diners. Nothing fancy about the décor or service but the food is always consistent and well priced. Wish they were open longer hours.

Service may not be the best, but, the food is always fantastic. It’s classic diner food and I have never walked away from here disappointed! I will tell you this, I tried their eggs benedict for the first time, and I was blown away. However, I was a little curios about the black olives they decided to sprinkle on top… Overall, it’s great diner food and it’s really hard to mess up breakfast!

Oh man. This place has a bit of a special place in my heart. Been here twice now. The first time, I would have said it was among the best breakfasts I’d ever had. The second time, it was pretty average… BUT, I LOVE the place. The ambience, the charm. I mean, it’s charming in a greasy spoon sort of way, but I like that. The coffee was quite good, and the server, I wish I remembered her name, was delightful. Delightful to spare, even! So, I would definitely return here. My only concern is that it is very hard to eat healthy here. That said, I am concluding that eating out in general, is not good for waistline. I simply do not have the discipline of some :)

Conclusion: DONTGETTHEAPPLEPANCAKE! After my last review, I have stuck with the Apple Waffle which was 10 times better than the Apple Pancake. But decided to try it again knowing its portions were bigger and I was hungry and because when I asked my server between 3 options, he said«I’ll give you apple pancake». Never again. I couldn’t even finish ¼ of the pancake because the dough or whatever was so mushy and nasty. My boyfriend thought so too. I’ve never left a restaurant so unsatisfied before. They should make this place a Waffle House instead, seeming that they do better at that than certain pancakes. Save yourself money and just do not get the apple pancake.

Our fave place for breakfast! Everything tastes great. I usually order the eggs Benedict but today I decided to go out of my comfort zone so I tried the corned beef hash and loved it. I also really enjoy their potato pancakes(I put the apple sauce, sour cream, AND the tropical syrup on mine). My son always orders crepes and my wife enjoys the pancakes. Be prepared for a long wait if you arrive after nine on a weekend this is a popular place. The staff is friendly and attentive. The coffee is just OK but they keep your cup filled. Parking can be difficult during prime hours. Note: the guy beside me also ordered the corned beef hash but left 90% of it! I’m not usually a big corned beef fan(have ordered it less than 5 times in my 40+ years) so maybe OPH’s version is different than traditional recipes which is why I liked it.

I LOVETHISPLACE. I was born and raised in Gardena/Torrance, so though it is on the other side of town, there is never not a great time for OHOP. Breakfast/Brunch is my FAVORITE meal of the day and if I could eat it all day I would be a very happy person, but alas it is only open for breakfast brunch daily, unlike its more commercial distant cousin. All the food here is great, even the non-pancake items! The service is pretty fast, but due to its popularity in the area, it is almost always a 30 – 45 minute wait during the more popular breakfast hours(anything after 10 am). If you’re new in the area or want to try someplace new(if by chance you’ve never been here), OHOP is the place you’re looking for. My Faves: –Veggie Omelet with Cheddar Cheese –Chocolate Chip Pancakes –49er Pancakes –Dutch Baby

Tried this place for the first time this morning! Before they even opened, there were a few people outside the door. And by 8:00am, the place was getting real busy. I suggest going as early as possible! Service was great. Someone came by offering coffee about every 5 minutes! And the waitress was very nice. The food was also delicious. I had the Eggs Michael. It was a 4⁄5 I would say. But the potato pancakes were very good! My friend had the Irish omelette with blueberry pancakes which were also really good. The omelette was huge! We didn’t finish either of our meals. Their pancake selection is really big. I would definitely come back to try more of their pancake flavors.

This morning I woke up craving some pancakes. After searching around the area, the boyfriend & I decided on this«SoCal Staple». We arrived to see a bunch of people waiting outside. Of course, for a Sunday this would be normal. After about less than ten minutes we were called in. Not too bad of a wait. Once seated, we ordered the Dutch & Buttermilk Pancakes for me. I gotta say, the pancakes were delicious. Pretty straight forward, nothing crazy to rave about. Also had freshly-squeezed juice.(It’s hard to find freshly-squeezed sometimes). That Dutch was huge! He only ate three fourths of it. & I finished every last crumb of pancakes. I would say it was better than Ihop but did not deliver a «Wow» factor for us.

Every year, Entertainment Book publishes coupons for the Original Pancake House, and I have enjoyed their food for the past 10 or so years. Last year, they went mobile only, and that proved to be my downfall, as applications are not my friend. Now, on to the food. Always try and get the strawberry pancakes when in season, and the Dutch Baby is popular too. I always get the Homemade Corned Beef Has, that comes with two eggs, 4 potato pancakes and all the fixings. Use the sour cream and smother each pancake with the apple sauce on top, fold and devour the whole thing. Next, wipe off all that sour cream and applesauce off your face because it looks terribly wrong. If you have the coupon, don’t bother the waitress, everything is handled at the cashier. Be prepared to wait however; I’ve heard of 2 hour hour waits on Sunday!

It is my second time visiting. When I first went, it was on Saturday lunch time, so it was almost an hour wait. However, I was glad that I waited to try this place! This time, I went on Thursday at 10am. As expected, it wasn’t as busy as the first time. However, even when I came in early on the week day, I would say almost 40−50% of seats were filled already. We ordered my usual bacon pancake and corn beef hash with potato pancakes. Not only it is delicious, their portion is very generous too! For pancake, each of them are not huge but you get 5 – 6 pieces and i usually cannot finish them all in one sitting. Usually, I am not a big fan of corn beef hash, but theirs is amazing and I love their potato pancakes! If you like pancakes or breakfast in general, you should try this place! Foods: 5 stars Atmosphere: 4 stars Service: 4 stars Overall Experience: 4 stars

BESTPANCAKEHOUSE! Don’t get to go often as the locations are very limited but maybe it is good to limit such a great place(keep it special). Where to start, how about their ginormous omelettes! That is my go-to breakfast choice as I try to start the day with a healthy-ish meal. Don’t know how they do it but somehow they make the fluffiest omelettes I have ever eaten! They are also just the right amount of crispy on the outside. Today, my husband and I shared a veggie omelette since they all come with a stack of 3 pancakes. Plenty of food for 2 people. We paid a little extra to substitute the dollar cakes for the blueberry pancakes! You can substitute any flavor pancake and the choices are amazing! I had trouble deciding with choices such as pumpkin, strawberry, cinamon raisin, hawaiian, buckwheat… the list goes on! Usually it is packed and they cram in people like sardines but it keeps the wait down so I’ll take it. Today we showed up at opening and it was wonderful. Quiet, no wait for the best booth, fast service, all worth the early morning arrival!

I’ve dined at the OPH before and it’s been a few years since my last visit. After having breakfast here this last time, I am reminded once again why it’s been years since my last visit. Our waitress, first of all was slow. I guess we were unlucky because I read other reviews that service is pretty fast. We ordered diet coke and coffee. She brought coffee first and diet coke 10 mins later. Then I asked for water for two people. She brought back one. The prices on the menu is steep. At first we didn’t mind because we figured the food must be spectacular. My boyfriend got the pecan waffle $ 8.99(no sides). The waffle was one small thin slice with pecans on top. One would expect at least 2 thick slices for a standard order. He could barely taste the waffle and ended up throwing away most of the pecans. We expected pecans inside the actual waffle batter. But it was just a plain waffle with mounds of pecans on top. He had to order 2 eggs for the side because that waffle alone was not enough for a complete breakfast. I got the 2 eggs, home fries and toast for $ 7.99. Both dishes were average. Our bill came to about $ 35 for 2. For an average tasting food with steep prices, it’ll probably be another couple of years before I come back again.

I think this place is overhyped. It is barely a step above an IHOP. The service is really fast and though the wait was really long, they did seem to get tables cleaned fairly quickly considering how packed it was. The Eggs Benedict and Eggs Michael were not very good. The Dutch baby sounded cool and we heard good things, but it tasted like eggy bread. Their pancakes are good, but still not enough to get me to come back.

Hands down the best omelette I have ever had. I’ve been to this place several times for pancakes but I never tried their omelettes until now. I had the popular one with ham and veggies. The egg were fluffy and cooked to perfection. It also came with two pancake, which is a bonus for its price. Their Apple pancake is amazing as well. It pretty much tastes like a thin apple pie. Best to share all your dishes. Service was pretty good. Can’t complain because they were pretty busy. Once you’re done with your meal you could pay up front. Try to show up before the rush hour if you don’t want to wait 30−60minutes, especially if you have a large group.

After my work out my husband asked me wanna go to OPH? Am i dreaming? Did he said he wants to go again? Thank you Jesus you heard my prayers lol . We used to come here every week and get the same thing all the time til we got tired of it lol but today we went back cuz i was dreaming about their delicious corned beef hash yeah they do have the BEST corned beef and it gets even better with their delicious strawberry pancakes with their homemade real whipped cream. He gets their eggs benedict and the sauce its very good, today he got the Irish omelette which is corned beef mix with eggs and cheese and sour cream, i dont know about you guys but it was perfect without the sour cream . I always want to try something different but its hard :/so happy we went today… Great job OPH !

They have a large menu, something for everyone, if i was reviewing the whole menu I would give the Original Pancake House 3 stars, but if you go to eat everything here, you are missing the point. At the original pancake house both the DUTCHBABY and APPLEPANCAKE are 4 — 4.5 stars. Coffee isn’t great, sides aren’t great, potato pancakes taste like they should, I was warned not to get the corned beef so I ordered exactly what i should have, the DUTCHBABY and APPLEPANCAKE and they were great. Don’t order anything else and expect 4 star worthy food. Overall Original Pancake House is 3 stars, but their best items(Dutch Baby and Apple Pancake are 4 — 5 stars, order them.)

This place is PACKED for breakfast especially on Sundays! But what can I say? The food is amazing. My boyfriend and I had were super hungry when we were ordering and ordered Michael Egg Benedict, Western Omelette and also a side of Strawberry Pancakes… It was a LOT of food… I think the tables next to us thought we were crazy. Haha. The Michael Egg Benedict was just okay, my boyfriend thought it would be better with canadian ham instead of sausage patties. The Western Omelette was HUGEEEE omg it could have fed like four people! Nice and fluffy eggs. Tasted delicious. Now my favorite were the Strawberry Pancakes. It comes with a strawberry syrup. I usually can’t finish my pancakes because of other food that I order, but I was enjoying them so much that I barely touched the omelette because I couldn’t stop eating the pancakes… So Freking Good.
