I think they might be closed. I’ve called at all different hours and I’ve even stopped by in the middle of the day and no one has answered the phone and the salon was closed at noon. No note on the door. They have the hours posted so they were supposed to be open.

Came here before to get an awesome orchid and purple color melt for my hair and loved it, so I returned for a haircut and a touch up. Jay is amazing. He takes his time, is meticulous and catering to his client, and his work speaks for itself. My hair came out vibrant and still feeling soft and alive, and weeks later the color and texture is still upholding.
The salon is so clean and welcoming, and Kathy the owner is sweet and so kind. Literally did not mind the 7 hour hair treatment because of the atmosphere. I live all the way out in Fullerton, but they are worth the drive.

My stylist is Jay, he is an Amazing colorist! He is Always so kind. He offers me snack and a drink at every appointment. He knows how to do blonde like no one else I have seen in the South Bay & for that I wont’t let anyone else touch my hair. Jay is Truly a talented Hair stylist!

I just moved down to Hermosa beach & recently new to LA from Missouri and was in dying need to find a new local stylist. Jay did a fabolous job with my color & cut and have me a beautiful blow out! I felt like I walked out in a Pantene Pro-​vee hair commercial! The owner Kathy was amazing helped out w/​blow out (bc I have so much hair) and both were personable & engaging! I need to mention, Jay is so knowledgable! He taught me little tricks on how to style my hair & I loved he loved to educate. You can see how passionate he is for his job! Love that!

The staff was very kind, friendly, and social. Even so much as to let me and my friends dance while waiting for our coloring treatments to work their magic. They do what they can to keep you entertained, relaxed, and comfortable, which is good when you are there for a long period of time. Shout-​out to Jay for working his magic to my friends over the span of 2 days!

Amazing job by Jay. Went with a couple friends and he did color and styling work on all our hairs. Jay clearly knows what he is doing and he did an awesome job coloring my hair reddish brown while keeping it work-​friendly. We even played around and curled my hair to give it a Japanese pop star feel which I really liked. Regardless of what style you are going for, crazy or conservative, Jay will take good care of you. This place amazed me! My stylist was out of town and I kept seeing this salon I decided to stop by to see if I could trust a new stylist with the blonde technique I’m used to! Not only was I shocked by the hospitality that the owner (Kathy I think her name was) I had my 3 year old with me also and they took such good care of both of us! Not only did she and her staff interact with my daughter they made her feel at home! I’ve NEVER received this at a salon. My stylist’s name was Luz she was awesome and an additional stylist Jay helped in the whole process. They both had unique ideas about what i needed and came together as a team and I’m soooooo happy with the outcome I hear they do massages facials and a lot more I’ll be back once these roots grow in! But thank u to Luz and jay! Book them if u can I know their availability fills up quickly

I don’t write reviews, but read them. I’m doing this to WARN others so that what happened to Me won’t happen to anybody! Was recommended by a eyelash girl who had never been to Moduglam.
1^st red flag was when I came in and asked kathy (owner?) if she had any before and after photos, she said she just opened salon few months ago. It is a cute salon but don’t let that fool you. When you look at the photos on her site they are stock photos and 1 of the girls I recognized as her best friend who steamed cleaned pee off her carpet while I was sitting in chair. She allows animals to run around her salon.
When we discussed what I wanted, she was going to do a FEW more highlights to match my hair extentions and then cut hair to blend. 2^nd red flag was she wanted to cut a little 1^st, then after color finish cutting. Never had that done before but let her proceed. When I looked down I saw a HUGE mound of hair and said «OMG! that is a lot of hair… How many extention is that ?».she quickly swept it up before I could take a picture of it.
3^rd red flag was when I was at sink and she said it was a beautiful Carmel color. I was like what??? My friend came in to meet me cause I was already 5hrs in salon. He later said it looked awful but didn’t want to say anything to upset Me. When I looked in the mirror I said WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!!! I said if I wanted my extentions that color, I would of BOUGHT them that color!!! she kept saying I PROMISE I’ll FIX it I’ll FIX it. l said why do you even have to keep saying FIX which means something is damaged or broken?! 7 hrs later… my hair was black on top, red, gold, brown BLOTCHY on the bottom. I was crying and so upset cause she ruined my $ 1000 dream catcher hair extentions and made me look HORRIBLE!!!
jessica, her assistant had the NERVE to say that I looked better then when I walked in. she wasn’t even in the salon when I walked in, she was at Walgreens across the street buying magic markers. kathy proceeded to say what do you want me to do, you can come back and I PROMISE I will FIX IT. I said WHY would you do this to me? and WHY would I come back when you don’t even know what you’re doing and RUINED my hair?! Since I can’t reverse time and go back 8hrs and never step foot in this salon, I said will you pay to have my har color corrected at a PROFESSIONAL SALON and pay for my $ 1000 extentions? Crickets.. I walked out SOBBING…
This is a long review and what ACTUALLY happened. REAL LIFE, I’ve survived Leukemia and lost my hair due to chemo so Im new to the hair extention experience. I know and have seen horrible things and would perfer a lumbar puncture over dealing with this again! I hope no one has to experience this EVER! I had to wear my hair in a bun being embarrassed how my hair looked over Christmas .My bad for cheating on my hairdresser to save a little $ and going to this salon. This was the WORST EXPERIENCE in 25yrs of going to salons!!! I’m releasing this now as I believe in KARMA and JUSTICE and hope they feel how I felt 10x over!!!
. jessica, you should keep your mouth shut and not make a situation worse… kathy, you should lose your license and go back to beauty school!!! I forsee A LOT of lawsuits in your future… People STAY AWAY!!! PS. I have alot of before and after photos!

Seriously I’m so glad I found this place. I got my hair done by the owner Kathy (she is AMAZING!!!) Totally saved my hair and now it looks and feels amazing. I recommend this place 100%. I felt right at home didn’t feel awkward like I usually do in other salons. I can’t wait to go back and I will definitely be going back to do my touch up and treatments :)

Love this place, it is clean and has a great ambiance. Staff is very friendly and inviting, always made sure I was comfortable and well taken care of. My stylist was Jay, he knows exactly what I want even before I do! I got cut and color and couldn’t be happier!

OMG I had the best salon experience I think I’ve ever had. JESSICA was my stylist right when I walked in I was greeted at the front desk and could feel the positive vibe.
Jessica did a great job in really trying to understand I got exactly what I wanted, which is so important to me, she truly cared & made it very apparent she wanted me to be happy overall, she custom cut, and colored my hair beyond my expectations, she did an AMAZING job!!! I am so in love with my hair.
The salon is adorable, i felt super comfortable there & the view didn’t hurt! also there’s an adorable makeup station set up for a girl to feel pampered.

My stylist Jay is amazing he knows what works with my hair and no one has ever been able to give me the perfect cut to fit my lifestyle. He also does my color and is great he keeps it real because he wants the best for your hair but I mean who doesn’t right?! The salon is great to big, clean and great location. Definitely worth it!

I love this place! It literally has everything a woman needs!
You can get a massage, facial then even go to the sauna after and relax!
Not only that you can also get your hair done cut or styled! Then get your nails done or eyebrows!
There’s so many enmities here that you can do a whole day relaxation!
I was helped today by Kathy and she was wonderful! I love how my hair came out!!!

I LOVE THIS SALON!!! Every time I come to ModuGlam my hair is always on point! I got my hair trimmed & blown out and I am sooooo in love. It was perfect ! Ask for Kathy she is absolutely the best stylist I have ever had .
Kathy is amazing on ALL hair textures ! I’m African american and she accommodated me and my hair with no problem !!! She did wonders to my head without even using a pressing comb.
The salon is also super nice and always really clean. It’s very nicely decorated and such a great atmosphere .
Overall it was a great experience !!!

Came here for the first time today, was told about it by a friend. I got my roots touched up, and dyed gray, as well as a cut and style. I’m extremely satisfied with how everything turned out, staff was friendly and the spa was so cute. Will definitely be coming back!

The owner Kathy is the sweetest also the salon is huge and super neat and décor is fabulous! I went for a color change and blow out and I’m in love with my hair !!! I highly suggest this place if you want to look fabulous !!

Beautiful location. Just across the street from the beach. Kathy (the owner) is very welcoming and always made sure I was doing ok and got everything I need while I was getting my hair done. She offers me water or some donuts. And Jay who colored my hair and also gave me a trim is awesome. He answered everything I wanted to know and he made me comfortable and he’s very knowledgable about everything in the salon. The place is pretty big. It has a classy glamorous vibe to it. They made me feel like a princess. And I was scoping their products and they use pretty high end products. From shampoo to make up.

Beautiful new location. Full service salon everything you need, very convinent with my busy schedule.
Girls day out, cute fresh style for my daughter as well!
