Have always loved coming here and now it goes by Halibut Corner. Still the same great food and even brunch although the owner has changed. Usually when this happens it throws the boat off course but not in this case. Still going strong and awesome as they always have been… check out the Halibut Corner page and start reviewing there!

I love this place! Their ceviche is amazing. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Redondo. I try to go a few times a month. It’s a great place to sit in the sun and enjoy the pier. Great food and excellent service!

My boyfriend and I had a great experience here. He did not like the sauce of the special of the day, and the cook came out to ask him what he wanted instead! The waitress was also very friendly. We loved their ceviche!

i’ve seriously had some of the best ceviche in my life at this place. i discovered it about a year ago when i was visiting the area and have made it a point to go back & visit every time i’m in the Redondo area. the beers are a select few on tap, but they’re good ones — and besides, you can wander next door for beer(Raja’s has over 700 in stock, apparently). but here, you get great service(thanks Marina!) and fantastic food with a wonderful view…

This place stunned us. It looks like a waterfront hole in the wall and we weren’t expecting much. But we were looking for low-key and so we popped in. Well, we can’t stop talking about how good it was. We had the crab salad(beautiful presentation, great taste) and the shrimp and scallops in the chipotle cream sauce. They are the best scallops I’ve had in a long time, seared perfectly, tasted like they were just yanked fresh out of the water. The shrimp were nicely presented and cooked perfectly as well. The veggies were fresh, presented beautifully and, sorry to use this word again, but cooked perfectly. The only thing that kept this from being a 5-star(mind you, not calling it a five star restaurant, just a five-star for being perfect at what it’s trying to be) is a heat issue. The fans weren’t on/weren’t working(not sure), but it was a little stifling in there. The waitress assured us this was a random occurrence and we have no reason to believe otherwise. We’ll definitely be back soon.

Awesome for brunch! I come here with the GF every other weekend or so. The portions are good and the the waitress is super nice. Its a small place after going there for a couple of weeks the waitress and chefs knew us by name. Its about $ 18 a head for brunch but you get a bottle of champagne for the table.

You cant beat the quality here!. I didn’t feel like driving home to Sacramento in the traffic so we came here for after the rush Memorial Day Dinner. Was served a chips and salsa and that was the intro of what was yet to come. The Salsa was fresh and flavorful I ordered a Lobster enchilada, Fish Taco, Shrimp quesadilla combo. It was very outrageously tasty, something you would expect at a fine dining restaurant not a commercial location. The plate came with a really good butter rice, salsa, sour cream and guacamole. My friend who recommended this restaurant had special off the menu order, a Vietnamese chicken and egg roll cold noodles with fish sauce. I had a taste of his egg rolls and it was«To die for». We also had the Mondays Special $ 3.00 taco. You can taste the fresh ingredients that was freshly cut, I challenge you to find that kind of quality at the price anywhere. If you ever get to be so lucky to dine there, ask for the hidden(not on menu or published anywhere) specials of the day. Or ask to speak with Anthony the owner/chef. And he’ll find out what you like and he’ll create something special for you. He came out and greeted us and made sure everything was good, gave us extra guacamole for our chips. If you have any issues, give him a heads up and he’ll take care of you. ts better to let him know right away and leave a happy customer than to sit on your computer and give them undeserved crappy ratings on Unilocal because you are too afraid to let him know your thoughts face to face.

what can I say. AMAZING! I’ve had the shrimp and scallop plate and it’s simply DIVINE! Both shrimp and scallop were cooked to perfection and the garlic sauce that was drizzled over the seafood blew my mind! I’ve also tried their fish tacos(BOMB) and the lobster enchilada. perfect! Free chips and salsa with refills. Extra friendly staff, very attentive and personable. Overall: Of course i’ll be back! I heard the Sunday brunch is wonderful. i’ll do a update. Reasonable priced plates.

I used to go to this place regulary when I lived in S. Redondo. I love that they serve free chips and salsa. My favorite was the coconut shrimp(which I would have with garlic mashed potatoes instead of the rice).

Been coming here for over a year on Mondays for the 3 buck tacos. They’re really good. Asada and baja fish are the best ones. Very nice and friendly staff. They just introduced a Vietnamese soup called«Phở» which I did not care for.

The food here was pretty good! I had the fish tacos which comes with rice, beans and avocados. They give you free chips & salsa with refills! The staff there is great. I sat next to the windows which were open but they’d always check up on me to see if I was too cold. So nice of them! Awesome atmosphere too.

Stopped in for a glass of wine with a friend, this past Sunday. Lou-e-Luey’s is a quieter spot than next door’s musical bar. Pulled in with my power chair in front of the bar. Next thing I know there is this, filled, wine glass headed my way. It had slipped from the hand of the waitress on the other side of the bar. It just missed me and crashed on the floor, right at my side.(Was she actually throwing it at me with hopes that these people would not stay). After apologizing the waitress and kitchen people cleaned it up. I suggested at that time that an apology was great, but a courtesy of a peace offering of a glass of wine would really be nice. The waitress charged for the two glasses of wine and would not consider calling the owner/manager to even take into consideration not charging. I expect to be compensated for what could have turned out to be a tragic accident. The second waitress began to pump her spray bottle into the air. I have asthma and knew I would be in breathing trouble in a moment. As I got into my power chair and headed for fresh air, beyond the spraying. I advised her the best way is to spray directly into the cloth then wipe the table. Spraying into the air changes the flavor of clients food and drinks and causes people with asthma to stop breathing. Even though I live a block from Lou-e-Luey’s I will not return. I’d rather go have a good time next door with the live music and plenty of people to chat with. There were only two tables occupied at Lou-e-Luey’s.

My favorite place for a fantastic breakfast, when in the Redondo Beach area. I can’t get away from the crab omelet. It is absolutely delicious. For $ 20.00 you get a great breakfast and a bottle of champagne. I highly recommend this lace.

I’ve been here 3 times within the last week, and I simply can’t get enough! So far, I have had the beef enchiladas, chicken enchiladas, Sunday brunch omelet, beef burrito, Ono special, Mahi Mahi special, shrimp tacos, beef skewers, Rib eye steak special, and ceviche. The food is simply amazing here! I eat a lot as you can tell so far, and I’ve got to tell you that the Mahi Mahi is simply to die for! It oozes with juice and flavor that I have yet to find in the same sort of dish at other places. The ceviche is definitely recommended here. I never get tired of it and it is chunky and fresh with a generous amount of avocadoes… mmm just the way I like it! The ambiance here is awesome. It’s a nice and cozy nook that is accented with lit candles at night. Definitely a nice casual place to wind down in the evening and go on a date to. The original had recently sold the restaurant and the new owner has been doing an excellent job of keeping the original authenticity of the place. He is a REALLY cool guy and loves to chat if you get the chance. The whole staff is so friendly and willing to make your dining experience enjoyable and memorable. Don’t worry about menu changes as the other posts have cautioned… I know for a fact that the menu will not change so no worries! The chef there tries to come up with new this eventually, hence the occasional specials. The owner listens to his customers’ feedback so he won’t ever change the original menu, but he might add on some tasty creations in the near future! Sorry I can’t go into more detail about the food right now… I got myself so hungry writing this review that I think I am going to head back to Lou-E-Luey’s right now!

No place better for Sunday Brunch. A short menu filled with fantastic breakfast dishes. $ 20 bucks a head buys you a delicious breakfast with a free bottle of champagne. I had the fillet mignon medallions in a great tasting Mexican sauce, avocado slices, rice & refried beans. Join the Lou E Luey’s dining club and get 10% of your bill credited back on your card for future meals. One of my favorite breakfast places. CAVEAT: David has sold it & the ex-chef from the Beverly Hilton has bought it. It hasn’t changed hands as yet, David told me new owners would keep the same menu and gradually add some of his own dishes. He apparantly is Vietnamese, could be some interesting fusion.

The good: The food. Seafood is too easy to overcook and become rubbery. This, however, is NOT the case. The food is always cooked to perfection. The scallops are the best I’ve had ever. Best thing on the menu is the Lou E Luey Shrimp and Scallops. Cooked in a cilantro cream sauce is heaven. The bad: The ambiance is lacking. Tables are stuffed close together and has more of a bar atmosphere. But if you can score a table next to the windows, it’s nice to watch the pier activity. The ugly: No A/C. I’ve been there on hot days and being in close quarters with other patrons, it can get uncomfortable. It is worth the trip for the food.

Located just steps from the water on the Redondo Beach pier, this place is like Tommy Bahama gone wrong. It’s all high-top tables and very small. We came for their champagne brunch($ 18.35) and served with all you can drink champagne. I ordered the egg whites with black beans and cheese enchilada. The eggs were fluffy, but really had no flavor. The black beans were bland and topped with just a tiny smattering of cheese. The cheese enchilada was your basic enchilada but had a pretty descent sauce on it. I was kinda disappointed that no potatoes or toast were served with it. I was left still hungry. My aunt’s got the eggs benedict and their steak and eggs and all were kinda bland. Probably more of a place to grab lunch or something, but I wish they had an outdoor patio.

I live only blocks from Redondo Pier, so last Sunday afternoon I walked there in search of food. Luey’s is right on the water, next to Naja’s. In fact I could hear the live band at Naja’s while I was eating, cool! Easter Sunday on Redondo Pier is not for the faint of heart, haha… it’s crowded! But Lou E Luey’s was not crowded. It’s at the far north end of the Pier, peacefully away from the large, chaotic live fish restaurants. If I understood correctly, Lou E Luey’s has the same owner as Delzano’s. And there are 2 sections to the restaurant: the place where I ate today, and the banquet hall, next door. Wow, that banquet hall would be one helluva place to have a party… hmmmmm… My server, Summer, gave me all kinds of good info about the special offerings at Luey’s: — Sunday champagne brunch for $ 20 that includes the champagne. — The Wednesday seafood broil includes king crab legs, shrimp, scallops, clams, potato & corn on the cob, and costs $ 19.95 for one, $ 34.95 for two. — On Monday there are $ 3 tacos & $ 3 enchiladas & $ 3 house wine and domestic beer. So. For my Easter dinner I ended up ordering the crab cakes for $ 9.95, with a side of guacamole for $ 5.95. The two crab cakes were rich with crab, although I do like the ones at Tony’s(on the Pier) better. But at Luey’s I got a nice baby greens salad with the cakes, as well as some lovely mango salsa. And I ate every morsel. The guac was a generous serving, not intended for one person. It was too much, along with the other stuff. I ate it. Damn. Luey’s is right on the boardwalk and has wonderful views. It’s an attractive place, and I will definitely return. The menu boasts a nice selection of seafood dishes, as well as a NY steak with garlic mashed potatoes. And there are interesting salads. I very nearly ordered the Fiesta Combo: crab cake, coconut shrimp, and tempura scallops with mango salsa, chipotle tamarind sauce, served with rice and veggies($ 18.95). Yum! Next time. And I think I should someday throw a party in that banquet room, which also has killer views…

We randomly decided to stop at this place after the clam chowder cook-off. I saw a lot of praising articles on the wall, so I had some expectations. I split a crab quesadilla with my friend. The initial bite was positive. «Mmm! This is good!» Unfortunately, the whole thing quickly became boring. Crab by itself doesn’t exactly have a strong flavor, not like land animals anyway; it’s almost passive. So you’ve got your passive crab, with the passive cheese, and the passive tortilla, and you have yourself a very boring dish. Both of us just started pouring on the salsa. For $ 12, I probably would have been pretty annoyed, but for $ 6 thanks to sharing, meh, you win some, you lose some. Oh and they don’t have their full liquor license, so all their cocktails are wine based. Not that that was a big deal to me.
