After our terribly negative experience, I would advise anyone considering choosing this doctor to look far elsewhere.

I knew the moment that I met Dr. jilani that he would be my doctor. It has been 6 or 7 years now and i love everything about him. His honest direct way of answering questions, his explanations of the therapy administered. His pep talks when needed allows for a healthy attitude to assist me in fighting this cancer. I strongly recommend him.

Dr. Jilani has been treating my 80 year old mother for over 4 years, monitoring her blood and cancer remission. He is extremely patient, gentle, soft spoken and knowledgable. My mother is very particular about everything, especially health care providers and she adores Dr. Jilani always saying as we leave the office, «he is so wonderful and I am so lucky to have him caring for me». Furthermore, the office always schedules appointments so that there is rarely a wait, which we both appreciate. I highly recommend Dr. Jilani.

My name is Kim Payne and I’m in total agreement with Jon and Sharon. I am relocating to Arizona and can not be any sadder about leaving the wonderful doctors I have been blessed with. I have had unfortunate encounters with essential thrombocythemia(one step away from CML), thyroid cancer and colon cancer. My primary care doctor, Ron Ruby, referred me to Dr. Jilani for the thrombo; stating that he was an extremely intelligent gentleman for whom he has great respect. Wow, that alone should tell anybody how good he is if Ron Ruby thinks he is good. He is a well known, highly sought after endocrinologist that I have been seeing for 38 years. I, too, am a 5 year survivor of thrombo. I tried chemo three times and turned out I am allergic to oxyliplatin, and ended up in the emergency room each time.(So I am on Hydroxyurea.) Dr Jilani is a surprisingly shy, sweet, unassuming man for one so blessed as a Doctor. He has a beautiful smile, a great laugh, and a sense of humor-good to see when he has such a sad job when you think about it. He always has time to discuss anything you ask and is informative each time. He takes time to look at the pictures I bring of my grandkids, or new house in Arizona. He is sincere and caring, and compassion shines from his eyes. Another thing that can make or break a Doctor’s practice is his support staff. I can’t say enough about them either. A special shout out the Sherry, Dr. Jilani’s faithful scheduler. I’m going to miss all of you. Thank you for caring for me for the last 5 years.

My Name is Jon R. Simon. Dr. Jilani has been my oncologist hematologist for 5 years. Before that it was Dr. Ron Purkett of UCLA Oncoology the pioneer in the development of Gleevec. I read the other review and I can not react more negatively. Dr. Jilani is the doctors doctor. He is the most compassionate caring doctor I have met in my unfortunate travels with CML leukemia. He is the consummate professional. Caring, not on a time clock, talks with your disucssues your issues. The last review was written by a group of people with other motivations. Anyone who knows him or has been treated with him would tell you the same. My Cancer has been stubborn and elusive and ONLY Dr, J, has figured out what there doctors could not. My number for all who want to talk to me about him is 310−989−6788. I am a REALCML Leukemiam survivor. Every step of the way, Dr. Jilani was there. When I was in ICU at Little Company of Mary for 6 weeks and they did not think I would live, It was Dr. J, who held my hand and was on top of every treatment. I am on my third version of Chemo, which I will need for the rest of my life to manage my treatment. HEISTHEBESTDR I HAVEEVERHAD, LUNG, HEART, PRIMARYORWHATEVER. I was disgusted to read the last review. I am a real patient with a very strong patient knowledge. This man is a not only a wonderful human being but the most competent Hemotologist/Oncologist in LA. The people who wrote the last Unilocal«rating» have some agenda. I’m not sure why but, anyone who wants to call me and talk to me personally I will take any time any place to discuss this warm and compassionate and highly skilled doctor. Please do not take my word for it. I am very well connected in the medical community although I am an investment banker. He is simply the best doctor I have ever had care for me, PERIOD end of story.

Dr. Jilani is uninterested about your health. If you ask him a question, his famous answer is, I don’t know. You have to beg for him to refer you for cancer screening procedures, like mammogram, CT scan etc. He will stall until your cancer has metastasized to a highest level. I recommend that you should not accept him as your oncologist, or he will send you to heaven before your time.
