Great food! I ordered the wine trio to pair with my meal and it was a great choice. Portions on the small side, but I left feeling satisfied. Not stuffed. I don’t usually order pasta but I did tonight and it is worth it. They make it onsite and u can taste the difference. Very fresh. Everything tastes fresh and light with great flavor but not overwhelming. Great place to unwind on a Friday night.

Having lived in Italy, it’s hard to find an Italian restaurant that gets it right. I’m not looking for huge American meal proportions to sacrifice quality and flavor. The dishes here are simple and authentic. If you have visited Italy you will appreciate this restaurant. If you haven’t been to Italy you will still appreciate the food, it really is special. I also really enjoy their family style lunches and dinners. There is so much to appreciate from this no frills restaurant. There is parking, wonderful service, authentic food and the ambiance is very nice. Hoping this treasure stays around for a long time!

We went for NYE for the first time and had a fantastic experience. Parking — plenty of it, and it’s free. No valet. They have a lot and there’s street parking on PCH as well. Reservations — the place is small, so I recommend them. Especially if larger than a party of four. Through opentable or call directly. Ambiance — romantic and upscale for the beach cities which is nice. Also has a nice outdoor patio. Service — excellent. Really, really excellent. The best we’ve had in a while. Food — very good. All northern Italian cuisine. We tried several dishes including: Seafood appetizer: $ 15 and only enough for two people with five or six different tastings of fish. We enjoyed all of it, especially the smoked fish. Pastichio: excellent. Tagliatelle with ragout: excellent. Will order this again next time. Portions are small so get the entrée size. Venison chops with grilled quince: Excellent. Venison was perfectly cooked and I don’t know what they put in the greens that it came with, but it was fantastic. Clam and mussel spaghetti: Excellent. Gnocchi: Okay, a little too potato-ey for our taste but the sauce was really good. Lemon– rosemary tart: Very good but not as good as… The bosc pear with mascarpone. That was something really special. Do yourself a fave and try the 10 year aged Duoro tawny port. If you’ve never had good port, now’s your chance. Note: If you’re expecting a huge bowl of pasta, this is not your place. It’s very authentic and like portions in Italy, they are smaller than you’d expect at many«Italian» restaurants in the US. Still, we didn’t leave hungry as they tend to be pretty hearty. Prices — I felt they were fair. Some people on Unilocal were complaining that it was expensive for the size of the portions, but there wasn’t a single entrée over $ 30. If you get a half liter of wine, an appetizer, two entrees, and a dessert, expect to pay about $ 115 with tax and tip.

Incredible Italian cuisine. reasonably priced with an exquisite wine selection. May I recommend the $ 36 bottle of Mondonaccio Chianti. Pasta Fasioi soup. it is the best I have ever tasted. Ravioli dI Antara al l’Arancio(roasted duck raviolis).and Tagliatelle … and for dessert the Ricotta pie. Excellente. the best little Italian wine restaurant in the south beach region of LA. A true jewel of a dining spot

Nine dollars for lettuce is absurd. Their house salad is literally lettuce and a few mixed greens. Pictures below. In addition, their portions do not match their prices(nor the flavor). The service was good, but there were only 2 other tables, so it wasn’t a hard task, especially since there were both a server and a food runner. Tip to management: On slow nights, cut the runner so the server can make some money. We started with the salad as I mentioned. I ordered the risotto and my friend ordered their version of what lasagna might me. No red sauce in this lasagna. My friend said it was bland. So was my risotto. Both of these dishes were expensive too! Mine was $ 21, and my friend’s was $ 19. Altogether, the meal was $ 52, and $ 62 with tip! I get it, everything is made from scratch. It should still not cost that much OR the portions should be larger. There was no meat in my dish and it cost that much. I feel ripped off. The reason I gave this place 3 stars instead of 2 is because everyone was really nice and it has a great, fine dining ambiance. Other than that, not worth the money we spent.

A group of friends and I decided to visit this restaurant for the very first time. I wanted to give this review to let everybody know how honest this establishment is. I lost my watch and couldn’t find it anywhere and was very upset. The owner called my friend who had made the reservations and they found my watch and they were kind enough to hold it there for me until I could come the next day and pick it up. As far as the food I only tried a couple of small side dishes and the glazed carrots were very good. It did take a very long time for us to get our order which I now realize was because they were making everything from scratch. I really liked the ambience of this restaurant and the location. I will be visiting again soon because I would like to try some of their desserts. The reason I only gave three stars had only to do with the time it took for us to receive our dinner order.

Hostaria Piave is our favorite local restaurant. While my husband and I generally come here for lunch on Saturday to enjoy an amazing meal on a sunny day, I have also had business dinners here with up to 18 people. Angelo organizes the patio in a beautifully inviting setting for a large group if needed. The food is none other than amazing. We have not had a meal that we have not been extremely happy with. The menu changes frequently but the faves always come back. The Pastichio is quite possibly the best thing I’ve ever had… problem is recently it’s been to hot in the South Bay to indulge! The roasted heirloom tomato soup is light and full of a rich tomato flavor with no cream! The wine list and wine flights are really special and as Open Table has weighed in the wine list is one of the best. Don’t be deterred by the PCH location. We have eaten outside most times we are here and have never been annoyed by the traffic as the food and amazing service is worth any minor noise — and we eat here mid-day. Angelo is a great host and chef. His Northern Italian fare is definitely something special in the South Bay. Unilocal needs to add this restaurant to the«Open for Lunch and Outside Eating» filters.

Finally came here for dinner with my fiancé. The food here is amazing! We started off with the beef carpaccio. It was so good, sliced very thin with salt and cheese. Then we ordered the linguini with scallops and their version of a lasagna. Both dishes were delicious. We liked that it was good portion with high quality taste. We had to get dessert. Tried the lemon tart and the bread pudding. The bread pudding is the best! The owner was very nice and paired our food with a great wine. Definitely will come back.

This restaurant is located on a busy street however still seems intimate. It would be good for a date or anniversary or some special occasion. There are two sections — a patio and inside. We sat in the patio — it has a nice casual feel. The pasta is made from scratch and there is a good wine selection. Classical music plays in the background and the staff is friendly. They are able to explain dishes and make recommendations. With a little polishing there is a lot of potential for this restaurant.

Wine was perfect, salads are best in the Southbay; fresh everything and perfect blends. Pasta disappeared. Veal fell into my mouth. The owner oversaw everything.

it is with a conflicted heart that i write this review… selfish in that i don’t want others to share in this local treasure but guilty for keeping this treasure from others so here it goes… Pollo al Rosmarino this is really all you need to know, in my humble opinion. just because it is so perfectly executed — a roast chicken for the ages, hot on the plate(replete with steam n’all), boneless, seamless. the chicken is completely balanced w/its tenderness, crispy/blistered skin, succulence and just enough hints of lemon and rosemary to tickle your taste buds… and then the occasional tinge of salt that entices you to take one more sip of wine. loved the gorge of natural juices that emerged after cutting down the middle of my butterflied poultry perfection. my words don’t give this bird justice… i just urge you to try it. everything else i had was delightful — started off with mussels in a roasted, spicy tomato sauce and ended with a special strawberry semifreddo. the owner(Angelo) is so warm and friendly… truly cares about his food and his customer’s experience. they have a special treat for their customers every day of the week… just check out their huge blackboard in the patio. trust me, this is northern Italian cuisine done right.

I called two weeks in advance to confirm their daily oyster happy hour only to arrive and find that they’d changed their policy to Thursdays only. I explained that to them, and they told me it was«highly unlikely» that’s what happened because they changed the policy a «long time ago». But the manager did eventually offer a dozen dollar-oysters for«good will». The oysters weren’t bad, but they didn’t taste totally fresh. Then again, at $ 1 each, I can’t really complain. Fortunately, I quickly forgot the rough start when I got the Venetian Flight, and the pasta dishes that followed were just as good. The Gnocchi al Sughetto di Anatra had perfect potato with robust shreds of braised duck, and I was in love with the Tagliatelle con Pancetta e Chiodini. Such a simple combination of mushrooms and pancetta over ribbon pasta, but such a amazing combination too! Unfortunately, the Ravioli di Zucca al Burro e Salvia was absolutely bland and tasteless, which is sad because I usually love butternut squash. But they redeemed themselves with the Bistecchina di Manxo al Pepe Verde. Polished slices of grilled steak and a smooth peppercorn sauce? Yes please! And to end it all, the sweet-berry Panna Cotta is so smooth. There’s a reason it’s my favorite Italian dessert. I’m not in love with Hostaria Piave like I am with Fritto Misto, but I definitely respect their food. The pasta dishes are perfect, and their food is the embodiment of Italian fine dining. A few hiccups but overall a lovely experience I’d be okay to repeat.

I would have loved to post more pictures but I ate the food too fast. This place is definitely a different take on Italian for the area. They have a small seasonal menu which focuses on what’s in and good. Don’t expect more than 7 – 8 options for entrees per night. The veal was spectacular…(Check my reviews, I have never called anything«spectacular» before … I threatened my friend with a butter knife when she asked for a bite). It’s on the pricey side, but great for a date night or a foodie adventure. The desserts are absolutely ridiculous… I want to move in with the chocolate hazelnut parfait. Super great staff with a high attention to detail.

Came on a Sunday. Place wasn’t full, but a decent amount of people for the small restaurant. 3 of us took advantage of the 4-course Venentian prixe fixe menu for $ 35. I got to try every dish and gotta say, I think it is pretty good value. Appetizer that night was Polenta with melted cheese and prosciutto di San Daniele. Cheese was very strong but worked really well. Pasta dish was a really simple but tasty spaghetti with some pancetta, rosemary, and zucchini. Pasta cooked perfectly as well. We were surprised how savory it was. Secondi was beef filet with this red wine reduction and freshly grated horseradish & apple. Super tender beef, and we were surprised how well the horseradish and apple worked. For dessert, it was this tiramisu and let’s just say I was glad they were all full cause I pretty much demolished it. Not soggy at all, really light coffee flavor. Would come back just for the tiramisu! I went with the Radicchio Salad and the Layered Pasta. Salad was very simply dressed, which worked well with all the different type of greens and allows you to really taste the bitterness. As for the Layered Pasta, I went with the entrée portion, which was $ 5 additional, and don’t regret it at all. Really like the meat ragout. Definitely would order again and again! Also went with a glass of the Chianti. Definitely take a look at their wine list. It is very VERY impressive. I took a look around the chalkboard outside and noticed they have several happy hour offerings, and even oyster happy hour on Thursdays! Service was great. Owner was walking around making sure everything was okay as well. Hoastaria Piave is a really unassuming spot along a busy part of PCH, but I’m already planning for my next visit, whether for the Sunday prixe fixe once more or for the happy hour!

What a cute place to dine! It’s cozy and cute. Perfect place to take a date! I parked at a meter only to find there is PLENTY of parking behind the restaurant! We ordered the Antipasto di laguna to start. I ordered the pork shank and my date ordered the roasted snapper. The only dish memorable from the antipasto di laguna were the scallops, they were light and absolutely delicious. The others were all pretty tasty and different but nothing that enjoyable. My date thought the others were just okay. The pork shank was absolutely amazing. I’m a huge calorie counter but this was definitely worth every calorie! The meat was so tender and juicy, it fell right off the bone. It was so soft and delicious, I never wanted it to end. It was paired with cauliflower that was seasoned simply and cooked with just the right amount of crisp. My date had the snapper and it was soft and juicy as well. However, we both agreed that the pork shank was definitely the better of the two. Good thing I chose the pork, otherwise he’d be forced to trade! I loved that the main dishes had no carbs whatsoever. I guess it’s because pasta is usually ordered as well. Cute place, parking, authentic Italian food, low carbs and yummy food. Perfect :).

Charming Small Bistro on Pacific Coast Highway Delicious and authentic Italian cuisine is presented in this sidewalk bistro in Redondo Beach. Happy hour showcases $ 1 oysters. Outside seating is street side made private with a hedge of herbs and string lights at night. The inside restaurant seemed inviting. Start with a platter of the fish sampler for the table. The lamb was perfectly grilled, salads were crisp, and delicious. We brought our own wine and paid corkage although they have a great wine list. Definitely a very romantic, local gem, that could become habit forming.

Don’t come here expecting a huge menu. This is 90% wine bar and 10% restaurant. They have some small bites and lil portions of pasta but Id mostly recommend this place to winos cause they have bottles from 40 – 1700 $! Yowzer… we opted to skip the 1700 bottle cause it felt a bit too fancy for us on a kick back tuesday night: P Food was ok. Kinda creeped me out that the beets were sliced so thin that the texture was reminiscent of a cold cut though. ugghhhh. sends chills down my spine every time i think about it. We sat out on the covered patio which was really cute n kinda romantic but, being located on PCH, was disrupted by some dude driving by screaming obscenities. Lol. just a weird location, I suppose.

Wow! What a wonderful Italian restaurant and wine bar! A cute little place decorated with Venetian masks and paintings all over, very unique and beautiful. We chose to sit at the booth, very cozy and comfy. They have their own wine cellar, so the wine list is like a book! A lot to choose from, some very expensive reserved wines too of course. They have two menus, a regular one and a special one, we took time to look through them, the pasta selections look so good, as well as the appetizers and entrees. Also some reserved wines half prices on the special menu. Starters: Complimentary bread: the crusts were a little too hard for me, but I liked the warm butter. Thin spaghetti with cuttlefish and mussels: I only eat pasta once in a long while, when I crave and want to indulge in carbs, glad I shared one with hubby as appetizer. The pasta was so good, loved the texture and taste, I believe it’s daily handmade. The mussels and cuttlefish were so fresh and tender, the sauce was amazingly delicious! I don’t think I have ever had any spaghetti tasted THAT good! Entrees: Traditional fish soup: it was actually seafood soup, no fish in there. Big pot of hot soup filled with scallops, shrimps, mussels, clams, baby octopus, they were very fresh and tender, the soup was so light, but with a lot of flavors, it was heavenly delicious! Filet with potatoes: they really cooked it on the rare side, it was bloody and flavorful just the way hubby liked it, the housemade red wine sauce was great to go with the steak, hubby loved the potatoes in there too! Desert: Chocolate and hazelnut parfait: it was very delicious, not too sweet, hubby loved it, it was rare to see him eating desert like that… Drinks: Sparkling water with lemon: refreshing of course. Sparkling wine: bubbly and sweet. White wine: it was a mix of Pinot Grigio and other two white wines, I loved it, fruity and refreshing, we had two of those. Green tea: I was surprised they had green tea at an Italian restaurant, very strong and tasty tea, liked it a lot! Double espresso: to ease hubby’s food coma as usual. The portions were a little bit on the smaller side, the flavors were very light, I think it’s better to eat light at a wine bar, that we can taste more wines. The food was just too delicious, it is rare that I love Italian food, but I enjoyed every single bite of my food! Our waitress was extremely friendly and attentive, she managed to pour sparkling water and wines for us most of the time. Absolutely loved our Italian casual dinner date, everything was so lovely, a great place to dine and wine whenever we are in Redondo beach area!
