My mom really loves this place because they have a special squid roll-Its called the Silver Torpedo. I think its pretty good, and I have to say that finding a roll with shiso and ume is pretty rare on a sushi menu these days. I love any raw fish roll from here. I love something like the hawaiian roll or the salmon rolls. Great sushi spot, love the ambiance, love the service! Will be back!

I thought I would love this place. It definitely started off that way. The atmosphere is nice, cute dining area, modern décor. The menu is veggie-friendly while still satisfying my meateating family. Decent food. Friendly staff. So what went wrong? I can break it down in three major areas. 1) Mismanaged expectations. Menu says enoki mushrooms are included in the Tofu Steak. It came out solo. Server said they no longer serve it with mushrooms and they didn’t update the menu. My expectations would have been better managed if they had informed me of the lack of mushrooms before bringing it out solo. At least it would have made me aware thus giving me the option to change my order. I do give credit for the tasty ginger sauce. 2) Basic physics. The Tempura Veggie Roll was hearty. Almost too hearty. The size of the roll had a 1″ radius(2″ across). The thickness of the roll was ½″. I never took a physics class but I knew the rolls would not stay intact and that I’d have a hard time eating this. Also, this comes with 5 pieces at $ 7.45. Kinda hard not to raise an eyebrow. 3) Timing. We had a group of 6. My parents received their main dishes first. The rest of the dishes came out sporadically at different times. Everyone at our table was being polite and waited for everyone to be served. It took about 8 – 10 minutes until everyone at the table received our main dishes. It got even weirder once we all finished our main dishes. More smaller dishes came out that we totally forgot about such as additional sushi rolls. I wish they came out with the rest of the food. I thought I would love this place. One day I might. But for now, I’ll go middle of the road.

I got the Ocean Gaudium: a small wooden box filled with salmon, striped bass, eel, scallop, shrimp, and salmon roe over rice mixed with kanpyo(sweet squash). Came with a miso soup. It was good, but it didn’t fill me up. I didn’t feel that the menu was worth the money.

I ate at the old location for lunch many years ago. It was OK, but not impressive enough to take my wife there. After seeing the new location and reading the reviews, we decided to give them a shot. I have been eating sushi for over 45 years and this is the closest to traditional sushi I’ve eaten in many years. The fish was very fresh and flavorful. The variety of items was very wide. They had nato and methi, two of my faves which I haven’t had in a long time. We sat at the bar and while it took a while to get a rapport going with the sushi chef(very important) he turned out to be engaging. This is now our go to sushi bar in Redondo Beach.

Try the breakfasts, only served on Saturdays and Sundays. My favorite is the bagel and lox, served with capers, scrambled eggs, green salad, and a scoop of potato salad. Their croissants are also hot and crispy. And they make superb cappuccinos. with cute designs. If you ask, you can get an affogato, a scoop of vanilla ice cream with espresso poured over it – coffee and dessert all in one! They have top quality espresso. It’s not easy to see this place, but turn off PCH on Topaz and park in the back.

An adventure in fusion and hybrid gastronomy that had to happen in Redondo Thanks to the Owners, their family and dedicated staff. The flavor of the dishes you’ll find here span the globe as the owners had to work there way around the globe to get here. You’ll find Dutch Chiffon Cake and chocolate and then from South America Coffee. All fused with a meticulous presentation that pleases every sense. Take the extra effort to find this gem on Topaz and PCH. I pass it all the time and just turn on Knob Hill and come around on Elvira. I’ve been here two times and each time the food has been very good. The food is obviously Japanese, but has a variety of both sushi and izakaya(tapas) style dishes. Everything tastes homemade and you can see the quality and care they put into each dish. Although prices might be a bit on the higher side(also partly due to the location), it is a nice, quaint place to go on a date or to grab a dinner when catching up with friends. The inside(and outside — they have heaters) is comfortable and welcoming. Note: For sushi, they charge by the piece. If you order 1 order, you will get one piece. My recommendation is to not try and fill yourself up on the sushi but rather the other dishes, especially the daily specials. Most of the fish dishes are delicious, but the menu has a good variety so it’d be good to try different things. Service is always top notch and friendly. There’s a small parking lot directly behind the restaurant, but you’re better off parking on the street(Topaz, Elvira, or Broadway).

Ahhhhhhh!!! I am so excited that I found this place! The first thing I will touch on is the setting. If you’re like me, you enjoy intimate settings where you don’t have to wait in long lines and sit next to obnoxious groups of people. Café Arigato is extremely intimate and fairly small and friendly(plus not too many people are aware of this gem which makes it better). I am absolutely in love with their menu. It’s fresh, quick, and the options are endless. Best of all, I’ve got to say the service was perfect. The young man serving my family was great, friendly, and quick. I will be back soon!

Some of the best and smoothest Sake drinks I’ve had in awhile. Real good and fresh tasting sushi rolls as well but what really stood out was the cleanliness and super courteous staff. We sat outside on a Saturday evening and they accommodated us with a heater and even offered to give us blankets, not sure if our waiter was kidding or not. The ambience was really relaxed and comfortable. Of course, we were there to dine but the views and atmosphere is always a plus in my book. Would I return again? Yes. I would. Especially after checking out their cappuccino work of art on some Unilocal photos. They’re talented!

Let me start of by saying I love Casa Arigato. I’ve been coming here for years. Great memories. I really like the new location, the place looks more modern however I still miss the one located in Riviera Village, I guess it will take me some time to get used to it. Casa Arigato is a family owned restaurant. It’s so nice to see Momo bringing your food. She is always so nice and looks so cute when she wears her hat. I really enjoyed eating their food, specially their baked black cod and their vanilla chiffon cake that tastes just the one my aunt used to make when I was child. Service is excellent, very friendly staff. Prices are very affordable. The only problem I found is parking. They have a small parking area so you might need to park on the street.

This past Sunday, my husband and I went out for date night, and he chose a new restaurant for us to try. Unfortunately, when we got there, we were told that they were closing early because it had been very slow, thanks to the Oscars being aired that night. So my husband and I got back in the car, and looked up nearby restaurants that would be close by or on our way home, and Casa Arigato showed being 0.6 miles away. Since they had such great reviews, we decided to give it a go! We arrived at 9:20, and when we walked in, we were greeting by a nice lady who informed us that Casa Arigato closes at 10:00pm, giving us only 40 minutes to eat, but last call for orders is 9:30. If we are ok with that, they are happy to have us. We agreed, and sat down to enjoy. Due to the late time, and also(I assume) due to the Oscars„ the place was empty, and we had the restaurant to ourselves, which suited my husband and I just fine. We ordered miso soup and edamame to start, and I must say, that was THEBEST miso soup, I’ve ever had! My husband ordered the salmon, halibut and yellowtail sushis, and he remarked that it was very good, and VERY fresh! He particularly liked the salmon sushi, and said if he had known it was going to be that good, he would have only ordered that! He also had and enjoyed the rainbow roll. I tend to like more of the cooked sushi rolls, so I ordered the baked salmon roll and the salmon tempura roll, both of which were delicious and filling, and we shared an order of the crab dumplings, which were fantastic! For dessert, hubby order the strawberry shortcake, which was light and fluffy, but not overly sweet, it was delicious! It kinda reminded me of the cakes from Phoenix Bakery in China Town… I ordered the salted caramel gelato cake, which was a thin round chocolate cake topped with yummy salted caramel gelato! The whole meal, start to finish, was amazing, and we will definitely go back! Also, the service was very good! Never once did we feel rushed, even though we came close to closing, and were the only ones there. We definitely appreciated that!

Another great rating once again. This place has great food, great ambiance and great service. Wow Sarah, how many times can you say great? Anyways I took the liberty of trying the caffe latte this time. It was delicious and had a snowman design :3 Not only that, I also decided to try their dessert. Yum! The tempura green tea ice cream was good, but their dessert of the day(strawberry shortcake) was really fluffy and delicious. I also got the Tanin-don which is beef shabu and egg on top of a bowl of rice. It’s slightly soupy and comes with pickled yellow radish and ginger. So good too! I just wanted to talk about the coffee and dessert first because that’s obviously more exciting. Yes, recommend!

I haven’t had a chance to try the food here yet, but the desserts and drinks from the café side are amazing! I love the concept of this restaurant. It’s a sushi bar/café, which makes it more unique compared to any other place I’ve been. The decoration and ambience of the restaurant provides for a really comfortable and enjoyable setting. The lattes come in cute little art, which really allows you to enjoy your drink even more. The desserts are subtle and not too sweet, just how I’d prefer it. The workers are so friendly here! I really enjoyed my matcha latte the most. Can’t wait to try to the food here.

They used to be right next door to a Farmer’s Market we visited in Redondo Beach, but more recently, they’ve moved a few blocks further North, directly on Sepulveda. It’s a bit hard to find parking in their lot, but the street they’re within ear-shot of the ocean, so you get to listen to the waves as you walk up. It’s a great neighborhood and easy parking nearby. The new location looks amazing. The décor is mostly wood and glass, with a patio outside that they’ve strung with fairy lights. The interior is minimalist and clean, and they have talented artists who hand-draw special messages on a chalkboard hanging above the kitchen. They like to showcase their chefs, so you can sit at the bar and talk directly with the sushi chefs and watch them work. We come back regularly and tend to order very similar entrees(because they’re always made perfectly). I really enjoy their teriyaki dishes. I don’t do seafood, but the teriyaki salmon is my girlfriend’s go-to dish. Likewise, I enjoy the Chicken Teriyaki, which comes drizzled with house-made teriyaki sauce. On the side are a small salad, a bowl of rice and miso soup, all of which come included. The salmon comes with a delicious pickled carrot, though, so sometimes I steal it from my girlfriend’s plate. Their appetizers are very unique, and always a hit. A great display of tempura veggies or veggies and shrimp, a full menu of sushi rolls, eggplant in ginger-soy sauce, etc. Everything is presented nicely and comes out fresh and delicious. But the best part– is that they’re a full café’ as well. They do espresso drinks. Being a coffee junkie, I can honestly say that there’s is my absolute favorite latte. If you get it iced, they offer you a to-go cup, but if you like it hot, I’d recommend their cappucchino. They do fun drawings in the foam. Last time I got a teddy bear. On top of that, they also have pretty great café’ desserts. Swiss roll cakes, mousse, and others. Our absolute favorite, and the one we ALWAYS save room for, is the Green Tea Tempura Ice Cream. You absolutely must try it. It’s a fried ice cream half-dome that they cut in half and drizzle with chocolate syrup. Because of this dish, I get«Tempura ice cream» at any place I ever see that offers it, and I have yet to find one that even gets close to Casa Arigato’s.

One of my favorite sushi spots in all of Los Angeles! Check out the daily specials because the chef here is very creative and composes creative dishes that mix flavors you wouldn’t normally see at a sushi bar. My recent favorite special was a baked oyster with pesto sauce. The sushi here is very fresh and prepared with care and attention to minute details. If you are a fan of rolls they also make several very tasty rolls! Prices are fair considering the seafood is high quality!

Always a great dining experience. The staff is very friendly and thoughtful and the food is delicious. I am currently hooked on the Spicy Tuna salad. The greens and fish are consistently fresh and the homemade ginger dressing is so appetizing. My favorite rolls are the snow corn, spider roll, and the crazy boy. If you’re in the mood for noodles, they also serve great udon. The noodles are cooked al dente and the broth is flavorful unlike many udon places in South Bay. The love chocolate and chiffon have always been my favorite dessert but I recently tried the apple pie at the suggestion of the server and it was divine~ There’s also parking in the back along Topaz.

Being a South Bay resident for the past 25 years, I can positively say Arigato is still the best sushi spot in the South Bay. I give it 4.5 stars. Japonica, Flyin Fin, and countless other nearby places are a lot more Americanized in taste and execution; they’re decent, but not as good as Arigato. You can distinguish a good sushi place by the sushi rice and at Casa Arigato, the fresh nigiri is lain over the yummy sushi rice, enveloping it – not floating on top of a huge dome of rice that you commonly find in places nearby and beyond. As someone who grew up with fresh sushi and sashimi straight from the source, I’m not ignorant to authentic, good seafood, especially East Asian seafood cuisine. I come back to Casa Arigato for the best uni in a 5-mile radius: theirs is very subtle in taste, has a soft sweetness, and no metallic aftertaste. Their non-traditional rolls, like scallop volcano and baked salmon, are very tasty, too. The only minor flaw I could see patrons complaining about is the slow service, but then, I don’t come here to eat as fast as a Chinese factory worker and neither should you. I don’t mind conversing with my party while eating. When you come here, you can do as the French do: enjoy your meal spread over 2 to 3 hours. Their desserts, especially the sundae, and coffees are worth the trip all by itself.

Great new location for Casa Arigato! I used to go to their other one and was so sad when it was closed for a little… Great price for yummy Japanese food. Great interior. Nice outdoor patio. And if you ask, they give you their wifi password. FOOD: I love how reasonably priced everything is. For a party of two, we ordered a lot of food and drinks and it was just barely over $ 100. The quality of the fish was quite fresh too. I mean c’mon some of their fish is imported all the way from the Japan. To start things off we shared the tuna and salmon sashimi. Thick cuts of fresh and fatty pieces of the salmon and tuna. I could seriously eat this forever. It is one of my favorite foods. A few highlights to note: — Baked black cod: super flavorful and kinda sweet. The fish was flaky and had a lot of meat on it. Highly recommended! — Agedashi tofu: still crispy on the outside yet very soft on the inside. The sauce that comes with it is also excellent which gives it a nice acidity We also got other nigiris — uni, unagi, salmon, saba, and hamachi. All delicious. All fresh. Parking is great because they have a small lot right outside. I noticed that they also have creative and cute coffees too with art! If I am in the mood to do some studying, Casa Arigato will have to be next spot. I remember from their old location that they had delicious desserts as well.

Good lunch spot, friendly service Food here is pretty good though portions are a little bit on the small side. That’s fine by me — more things to try! The beef teriyaki has a very deep flavor that might be the best I’ve had. I also like their lattes and flourless chocolate cake. Parking spots are limited but there’s plenty if street parking around. I love the new location as it’s easier to find and has much more of an open feeling compared to the old space they had. Overall, a nice quiet spot for lunch in Redondo.

I was impressed with this restaurant. The quality of fish is great, and the prices are reasonable. It’s definitely a place that will become a regular for me. The best casual take-out sushi I can find around the Redondo beach area. I’ve ordered the scallop nigiri, uni, sweet shrimp, spicy scallop roll, and shrimp tempura and was happy with the freshness of everything! I also appreciate how you can order 1 piece of nigiri rather than the traditional order of 2 pieces per type. This allows for more variety if you’re doing takeout by yourself. The shrimp tempura is also within the top 10% of any I’ve tried. Ambiance is another winner factor of this restaurant. It’s really perfect for a date! Everything is new, and there are cute indoor and outdoor tables that are perfect for conversation. Their lunchtime special is probably my favorite. For $ 11.95 you can get a bento box type of meal that’s tasty across the board. Try the salmon teriyaki — so tender and fresh, with crispy skin. Salmon is so hit or miss for me, but this place really gets it right.

Went after 12 for lunch on the patio. I liked the peaceful and cheerful atmosphere. It’s the perfect environment to chat with friends and family while enjoying a nice and light meal. My group and I ordered: Oyako-don(Chicken Egg Bowl) — I tried some of this. The chicken thigh was juicy and tender and tasted even better with the rice and egg. Not outstanding in flavor(although that doesn’t mean it’s bland), but it gives that cozy-home feeling as you’re eating it. I’d give this a solid four stars because it leaves one satisfied and not too heavy. Steamed Crab Dumplings — I liked these quite a lot. They use real crab, and I believe they put a dab of horseradish inside to add a little kick. Better than the other crab dumplings I’ve had before. The presentation of this dish is also very cute! Spicy tuna roll used good fresh fish and is definitely above average. Chocolate Love Cake — This was a great finish. I appreciated that they made the flourless and moist cake less sweet than most American-style cakes. It had a deep chocolate flavor and went well with the vanilla bean ice cream. Caffe Latte– They usually put two shots of espresso in this, but we decided to add another shot, haha. The coffee was very strong and had the right acidity. I would strongly recommend it if you love coffee. All of the food did not leave us disappointed and we left feeling positive about the restaurant. Kind and helpful employees and pleasant environment. This was a great find on Unilocal

Casa Arigato is an old school Japanese establishment. If you follow them on Facebook, you’ll find yourself growing attached to this place. When they relocated to the current location, I remember all the employees pitching in to assist with the remodel and new location grand opening. Every employee takes it personal to serve you. It’s old school! The menu is full blown with different choices(A different menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner). For dinner their backbone is sushi & sashimi but they have down to earth things like salmon/chicken/beef teriyaki. Our group had Albacore, Yellowtail, Spicy Tuna roll, Las Vegas roll, Salmon Skin Salad, Gyoza, Asahi draft beer, vanilla chiffon cake, and green tea tempura ice cream. Great presentation and no disappointments. They do have interesting specials that change based on availability such as Octopus from Hokkaido. We came on a Sunday evening for dinner. It was busy but not overly crowded. There is an outside patio but there is traffic noise so reserve this for low traffic slots such as a warm late night. The décor is spacious, pleasant, and does give some sense of originality. I believe the beautiful chalk work is done by one of the employees. The prices are not cheap. You just can’t get top notch sushi at bargain prices unless you go out and catch it yourself. Take my word for it. Another good sushi place is Sugarfish. Make sure you have a latte or chai tea. The latte art is the best in Redondo Beach. I just don’t feel right without my Teddy Bear latte.

This is a great new location for Casa Arigato. This restaurant was good before but with the new revamp it has become even better. Great interior. Great outdoor patio. Great food. For the record,(and the memory), they used to be located in the village, now they have moved to a great space on Pacific Coast Highway. They are easy to access from PCH and they have a private parking lot around the side of their building on Topaz. In terms of the food, they are obviously focused on Japanese cuisine but they also do a great job at breakfast favorites,(with a Japanese flare, of course). One of the truly great elements of this restaurant is that they have GREAT coffee drinks. Every time I order a latte’ I am so impressed with the design that they make with the foam. This is an ideal example of the time and the focus that the owners and the staff put into the creation of everything that they do. Great staff! Great food! Great coffee! Recommended !!!

Casa Arigato formerly in the Riviera Village area went under the hammer and got a new face and new home on Topaz and PCH. It’s no longer the homey girl-next-door but hip, modern, with a touch of cool. The way this place works is that it’s a café for Breakfast(starting at 830) and Lunch, then in the evening it’s a full sushi bar. This means there are three different menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with the exception of their dessert menu which I believe you can order from all day. I’m a big fan of their evening dinner menu because Vegetarians and Vegans get their own laminated menu sheet. Yes! We get to browse everything that we can eat on one clear page without flipping through pages and pages trying to weed out the animal corpse. Very thoughtful and much appreciated. Lunch offering is more limited for the grass diet people. You’re looking at salads, one sandwich, and a vegetable tempura bento. I definitely recommend coming at dinner time if you want more vegetarian choices. The Vegetable Tempura Roll and Agedashi Tofu on the Dinner Vegetarian Menu is excellent. For desserts, I love their Chiffon Cakes in the Vanilla and Earl Grey flavor pair with fresh whip cream and fresh fruits.
