Luis the bartender did know how to make drinks, very nasty attitude then looks @ you a condescending manner and expects a tip, my visit there was horrible, any bar is top notch from this, my suggestion find another bar you can do better than this. The restroom were awful had the stench of vomit and prices were high.

Cool, chill place. It’s nice to be able to find a gay hang out without having to go all the way to West Hollywood or Long Beach. Sometimes you just want to hang out somewhere local. The drinks are pretty good, the bartenders are friendly and the patrons are usually fun.

Mathew was a doll. Greatest bar tender I have come by in a very long time. It’s nice to have someone who is so appreciative of his patrons. He knows how to keep the vibe just right. The bar is great there’s a dedicated smoking area that is spacious and not a dark dingy corner. I’ve been coming here too often to not write a review.

Previously the dolphin, the Artesia Bar has been given a bit of a facelift. The inside is classier now but the layout is still completely the same. I was just in here last night, Tuesday night an the place was pretty empty. The bartender was very nice and was very patient as my friend and I were in decisive with our drink order. Talked to some other patrons there and listened to some karaokee. All in all a very chill bar with a friendly atmosphere. I still am surprised when I come here and have a great time, like I’m expecting a gay bar to be different from a normal bar. Guess i haven’t been to a lot of gay bars then. Anyhow, come see for yourself. Its a worthwhile spot.

I came here last night for karaōke and my birthday and I had an amazing time! Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The bar itself is very nice. There’s a nice patio with soothing lights and plenty of bench room. They also have a pool table and a small couch if you want to be comfortable while you’re playing or while you’re watching others play. The drinks are made very well, they’re strong but not to the taste. The bartender really knows what he’s doing and as the face of the bar last night he made me feel very welcomed. I’ll definitely be coming back here. I can’t wait for my next experience!

I came on 70s night and everyone was singing karaōke. The energy was amazing and it has such a great atmosphere. Also Bogart and Matt were fantastic 11⁄10 on their customer service. And the MC for the karaōke was hilarious. Thoroughly enjoyed myself. Definitely will be coming here again.

Can somebody please tell me, what’s going on this bar? I went last night for karaōke nights, I was extremely disappointed, where are all the singer ? I used come to this place when It was Dolphin Bar and Melissa was running that place, and it was so different, She really was promoting this place and she was taking care of ppl there, but I found out she’s not in charged anymore, Don’t get me wrong the bar look so much better now, It is really nice inside, but They Really Need promote this place, Just Saying :/)

Great location. Great drinks. Great bartenders. Pool table. Specials. And kareoke. It’s a simple dive bar that doesn’t judge and can walk in and have a good time! Some people may write bad reviews on one time trips. But no judgement shouldn’t be made on one time trips. Get to know a great place. Get its vibe. Understand it. And once you do you can call it home. Definitely a place I love and can have a good time!

Went out of the way to celebrate and closed! On a Friday… Don’t advertise you’re open at 4 and almost at 6 not open. Not cool at all. The day gay marriage is legal in the U.S. you call yourself a gay bar and you’re closed. This place sucks!

Great Bar! Owners are Awesome! Bartenders are Super Fab! Gay Bar, Non-Gay Bar, it’s a great little bar and everyone is welcome no matter what your sexual preference may be. Worth checking out! Happy Hour prices are best in SB!

I live in the SB and I thought to check this place out – Worst gay bar… This is mainly because of the bartender! Get friendly people! Don’t you want more clientele for your business?

Saddened to write this review for a place that I genuinely liked. I’ve frequented Artesia Bar since it was called The Dolphin Bar and always had a good time here. I was introduced to this place by a close friend and i really liked the fact that i could come and get a drink after work(since its fairly close to my job) and hangout without the annoying, pestering drunks that are usually found in the hermosa/manhattan beach bar scene. Its alot more chill and everyone seems to know eachother and greet one another when they walk in. However, this past Sunday i did not feel that the bartender and karaōke host lived up to the fond experiences i’ve had at this place. My bestfriend, boyfriend and I came here on Sunday around 1am for one last drink. We each got our drink 30 mins before last call. We then went on to sit in their patio/smoking area to finish our drinks and just hangout. We chilled for a bit and around 20 mins before closing we were asked to leave. The bartender kindly reminded me that i had my tab still open which i had every intention of closing once i finished my drink so then WHY3 mins later am i rudely told that i still have it open by another employee. It really pissed me off especially right after he told us we had to leave. You close at 2am, right? Why kick out your patrons 20 mins before? I closed my tab, chugged down my drink and left angry. Never have i been to an establishment where I was told to leave without just cause. I get the guys are probably trying to go home early but they couldve been nice about it. So, sadly i wont ever be going back. Not today, Artesia Bar, not ever.

Awful, awful, awful. Let’s start with the owner’s dog behind the bar, on the counter nipping costumers ankles. Why does this nonsmokers bar smell like a smoker’s den? Why can’t they make a decent drink? Why does one have to wait for the narcissist bartender Mathew to be done with his conversation to get a drink? He has no sense of costumer sevice. The two bartenders they had who could make a drink were Brandon and Zack and the owners fired them inexplicably. Why does the environment in this bar feel very gay unfriendly if this is a gay bar? If they wanted to makd it a straight bar just make it a straight bar instead of making their costumers uncomfortable and unwanted. You do not get good service if the guys who run the bar don’t like you dven if they don’t know you. So many health violations…

Awesome place! I love that their is a mix of men and women every night. Drinks are cheap and get the job done. I love their patio/smoking room, it feels like you’re smoking in the bar. Drinks, music, lighting, and people are all great.

This place is what you would expect from a dive bar with a strip club vibe added to the mix. Drinks: I recommend sticking to beer. I tried ordering a cactus cooler, the«bartender» handed me a horrible concoction, definitely not a cactus cooler. On my bill he charged me for a sex on the beach. But the drink I received was not a cactus cooler or sex on the beach. It was just awful. Dancers: were dry humping on the pool table. I’m not complaining. It was entertaining. Music: Mostly hip hop with some salsa(on Wednesday). WAY too loud. Don’t plan on having a conversation with anyone. Other note: crowd peeks at 10:30 — 11:30 then it gets dead real quick. I might come back if my friends insist.
