I love garlic sauce and this spot let me purchase a little tub of it to take home… soooo good!!! The food seems fresh and is tasty. I’ll definitely be back!!!

Lamb biriyani(Friday-Sunday) is amazing. Their quantity is small for the price of $ 12~. Fanooz restaurant has a lamb biriyani for $ 16.99 and they give two lamb shanks available in several rice options. It’s a better deal but I have to admit the aroma and flavor do the rice at Al Hambra is addictive.

Quality food, good variety, timely service. Definitely a place I can count on for a healthier meal that tastes very good. The woman who usually works the register is on top of things and takes no guff. Only issues I’ve had have been the occasional dry or tough piece of meat, but that’s risk you run when you prefer leaner cuts that are grilled.

Amazing people run a fantastic restaurant! Always smiling, always helpful, always delicious! I used to come here once a week with my sons before we moved across town; now I’m lucky if we can make it in once every couple of months… Huge portions, great prices and HEALTHY!

Great staff, best gyros in LA. I had lamb and chicken gyros, the meat was not dry like other places. We also had Arabic pastries, they were good too. The waiter even offered us the pastries for the kids

Taem shahi! Taem shahi! That means delicious food in Arabic. This Mediterranean eatery is located in a small strip and that is shared with Chicken Dijon and Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt. The sweetie and I visited on a Friday evening and parking was a bit tight but, we managed to find a spot. When you walk in, you order at the counter from a plethora of choices on the menu overhead. My sweetie’s go-to Mediterranean dish is the lamb gyro. I usually go with chicken so, I decided on a chicken wrap. Wow! Nicely roasted chicken in a pita. All ingredients tasted nice and fresh. Love the cucumber yogurt sauce to dip my wrap in. For my sides, I chose pita and hummus. All solid choices and very tasty! The sweetie was well pleased with the lamb gyro. Service is courteous and efficient. The eatery is small and fits as much tables and chairs in the little space they have. The place is tidy and pleasant. Nice, colorful ceiling lamps overhead. They were pretty busy on a Friday night. When in Redondo, this is the place for taem shahi. Will definitely return. Cheers! Thanks for reading!

I had some falafel and some gyros here. Loved the atmosphere! Lady at the counter was very nice and the food smelled amazing. Nice to see some culture in this very bland town. I could eat halal 8 days a week, and i’m glad this place is close to my workplace!

I am still convinced that Los Angeles people have no idea what good food is. I’ve been looking for a good gyro for many years now. I figured that this is one food that most couldn’t mess up. This restaurant didn’t mess their version of a gyro either but neither was I impressed nor satisfied. It appears that the meat comes off of a slow roasting slab as in the old days but the sauce is lacking in volume and taste. In fact, there wasn’t much of anything in the sandwich. The most disappointing thing was the pita bread. It was pasty, thick and just unappealing. We only ordered two gyros, so I didn’t think the wait would be as long as it was. At least three others behind us received their orders before we did. The only redeeming factor was the owner. He was very friendly and welcoming.

I love this place not only because it’s halal/kosher, but also because they quality of the food is delicious. Some people claim halal/kosher but lose quality in meat and freshness of their products. The staff is super friendly and meals comes with free appetizers. I have been coming here since 2008 and I finally remembered it’s time for me to express my gratitude for these hard working people behind the grills :) keep up the good work.

What set’s this place apart from others is the management and staff, the food is good but the management really appreciates your business, and finding owners that appreciate their customer while not a rarity is less common than it used to be. Al Hamra brings back the small town feel when everybody knew everybody in town and business owners were serving their friends and neighbors and they appreciated their customers. The Food, I’ve never had anything here that was not good, everything is cooked fresh so it may not be the fastest food but it is freshly cooked when it arrives at your table. The portions sizes are a good value for what you pay and the prices are reasonable for the quantity and quality of the food. So quality, quantity, value and owners and staff that care about the customer give us an overall 5 star rating.

Simply fantastic halal food. The lamb, beef, chicken, and hummus are all fantastic… stop in and enjoy yourself. For a simple /healthy meal, poulet a la mediterranean is a top pick.

Second time at this little restaurant and both times I’ve wondered why I haven’t been here more often. The owner is friendly and helpful and service is swift. It’s a small place, only a few tables and parking can get busy. We shared a falafel order, 4 perfect patties, fresh and delicious. For our entrees, he had chicken tikka masala and I had the gyro/shawarma combo. Both served with hummus and salad. Terrific prices and generous portions, we had a good amount of leftovers to take home. Must try the lamb biryani(available on the weekend only) and the lamb shank on next visit. In my opinion, this place is better than King Med. and definitely has better seating. We will visit again soon.

Grabbing lunch with my mom and there’s a plethora of small restaurants in this area. Mom is a fan of Gyros too, so we decided to give this place a try. It’s located in a little strip mall with a shared parking lot. It’s a tiny place, but has a few tables. Ladies behind the counter were very friendly. Gyros pita-Very Good. Meat & tzatziki were tasty. It comes with a side, and I got the salad. I found this plain with no feta and dressing was bland. The free hummus & pita was a nice addition, but I found the hummus bland and a bit runny. Quality gyros are hard to find, so the 4 stars is for their wrap and service.

This is such an unassuming and amazing place to eat. I forgot to check in last week when I came and that made me forget to write my review! This is out in Redondo beach, nice little parking lot that should hopefully make access easy. It shares the lot with other little food places. I immediately knew what I wanted, I’ve never been here but I’m a big fan of gyro sandwiches with garlic sauce. The perfect portion and so satisfying. The man who took our order is I’m assuming the owner as well, I could be totally wrong. But he was very sweet. He went around asking all the tables if everyone was satisfied and how everything was. That little icing on the customer service! We both had sandwiches, mine being gyro and my aunt’s being chicken. The soft fluffy outside with the meat and the delicious sauces. It was everything I expected and more. If I’m back in the Redondo area I will be back!

I picked up a gyro sandwich and chicken kabob on a Monday afternoon for under $ 20. The food is great here. The gyro was tender and flavorful. I would definitely return. I’m really glad to have found a gyro place on my way home.

Awesome place, great kabob and hummus. The chicken and beef kofkah are amazing. This is definitely the best Halal place in all of South Bay

I came in half hour before they were open but they fed me anyway! The lady that was setting up for the day found out what was ready and made me a great plate. She even came outside where i was eating to bring me warm arabic bread. Keep in mind this was before they were even open! They are next door to a chicken dijon which i ate at before. But Al-hamra Halal is better AND cheaper!

I rarely give 5 stars but this place has the best customer service ever and delicious food at a reasonable price! Wow I’m impressed. So glad I stopped by here after leaving LAX. I had a custom made chicken kabob and chicken shwarma plate with hummus, baba ganoosh and salad. Fresh and flavorful! Everything was so fresh and delicious. The chicken kabob is made with white chicken breast meat and is grilled and marinated perfectly(not dry or tasteless or too overdone). The chicken shwarma(dark meat) was tender and juicy. I’d get this again! The garlic paste is the best… wow.yum. I put that all over my chicken. The salad is fresh and light. I’m glad I chose that over the rice or cucumber salad(which is yogurt and cucumber). my friend got the rice and cucumuber yogurt with a skewer of beef and lamb. The beef and lamb(filet) are both moist and delicious. I prefer chicken but my friend really enjoyed it. The«cucumber salad» is basic. Yogurt and diced up cucumber and the rice looked dry so he mixed the rice and yogurt. The owner stopped by the table and talked to us. Such a nice, sweet guy. Customer service and good food are priorities for him and it shows. The lady working there(maybe his daughter!?) was super sweet too and helpful. He gave us complimentary baklava which was melt in your mouth delicious! I highly recommend trying this mom and pop shop!

I would have loved this place more if the wait after we ordered wasn’t so long. We came on a Sunday around 2:30pm. I know they’re preparing our meal so it’ll be served fresh and hot right? But when I got my combination Chicken shawarma and Gyro Plate, it was barely warm. On another note, we got a plate of hummus and pita bread to share and that was really good. The hummus was one of the best I’ve had and the pita bread was nice and thin(love it when pita is thinner rather than thick). The chicken shawarma and gyro was also really tender and flavorful, again I just wish they came out more hot. The garlic sauce that it came with was amazing and made the meats taste that much more mouthwatering good. The combo came with rice, salad and hummus. The salad was nothing spectacular but the rice was a nice complement with the proteins. I’d definitely come back again in the future, I just hope next time the wait time isn’t as long.

With almost 5 stars and loads of reviews, I was expecting to be blown right out the door by the shawarma here, alas, I was not. It fit the bill and filled me up but the chicken was a bit bland as was the overly creamy hummus. When I entered this establishment, I was super pumped because the chicken spit churning was giving me suggestive nods and winks. Well it worked because that’s what I ordered, but as I said, nothing to ride home about. My friend got a soup that looked a toxic shade of green, however she informed me that is what it is supposed to look like and she approved its taste! I have to say, the people who work here are extremely pleasant, and seem to genuinely like what they do(or maybe they were just in good moods)… Which helps up my rating a bit. However, if I am back in Redondo Beach again in the future, I will probably check out Chicken Dijon or Fish Grill, two restaurants next door. I’m all about foodgasms, and this place just left me with«blue balls»(if I were a dude, ha!).
