Reading through the prior reviews, it seems that ppl are not aware of the management change. The new management as of start of 2015 are Karen and Joel Butler, MW. Joel is the only Master of Wine in WA state and a part of of 322 Masters of Wine in the world. While modest, he is extremely knowledgeable an all things wine. You can confidently discover the world of wine with Joel’s and Karen’s help. It’s worth your time stopping in for their recommendations. Their pricing is extremely competitive in the market.

Good selection of wines, but frequently over-priced, especially on mailing list wines. While that, in and of itself, isn’t a total surprise… I asked for advice and was recommend an Oregon pinot noir that«was a steal at $ 40» and that the producer was going to raise their rates the following year. Turns out the wine normally retails for $ 20-$ 25(wine-searcher) and I was upsold to $ 40. Shame on me, I guess, but pretty crappy thing to do when I ask point-blank for a recommendation. Go in with your cell set to wine-searcher and cellartracker and I’m sure you’ll find a decent deal.

I love this place! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about wines, they offer tastings, and they have a great selection of wines in all price categories.

No change from my last review — still wonderful. We stopped in yesterday on a sunny day. Wine tasting available, but rather than taste each of the 5 samplers we decided to get a full glass of each the red blend and the Riesling. Both very good, and bought a bottle of the red to take home. The outside faces west and is pleasing for sitting while sipping wine on a warm day. Conversation is slightly challenged by the traffic noise, but tolerable. Location is in building next to the new walk/bike trail through downtown Redmond. Would be even better if the store was in the section of the building right next to the trail(and thus away from the traffic noise), but that is a minor nit.

We randomly stopped in World of Wines on a recent trip to Redmond and were shocked. Shocked in a great sense! These folks really know their wines and the wine business. I was really surprised to see everything from Screaming Eagle to Cayuse under a simple roof in a strip shopping center in Redmond, WA. I’m guessing the location is accidental as this resembles a Napa or Aspen-type selection in a really non-descript location. We were told about a recent wine scam at Esquine which occurred Thanksgiving day 2013 in Seattle. Quite the story. After returning home, we «googled the Seattle Times version» and it’s the the type of bungled felony script writers crave for. Unfortunately, they did not tell us about their wine club which offers a 20% discount on mixed cases, several wine tastings and a meet the winemaker event. On returning, I found their website which offers more details and I have submitted a request. I hope to hear from them soon as this is the type of wine store which has unique high end plus rare wines, knowledge of their market and ships out of state! Great combination!

I just went here for the first time. A great selection of beers greeted me and the staff was really cool as well. Another big perk is they let you bring food in from the local businesses so you can grub and enjoy your drinks. I need to go back and give this place another whirl. I felt like a kid in a candy store.

Love this place — they know what they’re doing! As much as I like Malt & Vine, they are very, very heavily beer-focused. I always say they should ditch the wine and focus on beer. And let World of Wines take care of the wines! If you join their member club, it’s like $ 50 but I believe it’s a one-time thing, and you get to do all their tastings for free. Plus discounts on cases(even mixed cases). Once(maybe twice?) every year they have a big winemaker event. One just happened this past Friday and Saturday. They’ll have 10 – 15 different wineries represented and pouring wines for you to sample. There’s also tons of food and snacks to nosh on while you’re there. Fridays are always packed unless you get there REALLY early or REALLY late, but Saturdays are way more laid back. They have a few tables outside so you can sit an enjoy the tastings when the weather is nice. The owners are so friendly, too. They are all about showcasing the smaller winemakers in our area, or really stellar importers. They’re not snobby and points-obsessed like many wine shops I’ve purchased from. They just know what’s good, and share their finds with you!

There aren’t enough stars to represent how fantastic this place is. You walk into an atmosphere of comfort and sophistication. A grape vine sort of theme. Merlot colored walls surround this perfect wine bar. Metal counter top three feet in front of an electric wine system and a ready wine connoisseur to help you find exactly what you are looking for. Yes i said wine bar. Did you think it was only a wine shop? Most defiantly not. It is a warm conversation, a calm and relaxing ambience, and all over a very informed glass of wine. World of Wines is a fairly new place, Opened November 2008 and Located right across the street from Jerseys Wine bar in Redmond. Owned by Allen Bechtel and Kathy Brunker who both work hand in hand with their customers. Allen’s son David Bechtel Works there full time learning all that he can and doesn’t already know. He him self wants to continue in these foot steps and pursue a career in beer and wine. Are you not into the ‘wine culture’ but you know you enjoy wine? That’s quite alright, no judgment is passed here, no change in mannerisms because you decide on a less expensive bottle. It almost feels as though they are truly only there to share their joy for wine. I stepped into World Of Wines last Saturday(8÷14÷2010) to be greeted by both Allen Bechtel(the owner) and his son David. Both welcomed me in and before wine was even mentioned, I sat at the wine bar, where they both were, and enjoyed a pleasant conversation with them about my day, my new job, and even injured foot. You would think I had known them for years. It did not see the fake ambiance of ‘customer service’ but instead the warm honesty of a good friend. The line up for the tasting had already been put away but they did not hesitate to bring out both that days and the previous days line up for me to taste. I can be quite picky about my wine, especially for someone who just learned what tannins are. I don’t know much about wine but I know my taste buds and they know what they like. Out of the 8 wine bottle line up 6 stuck out to me for one reason or another and I went home with a bottle of their Scalbrone: Bolghen, 2009 Rose. An enjoyable dessert wine with a nice punch of apple. All in all, a must try wine bar if you ever find yourself in the Redmond area. Or if not, you can go to their web site or give them a call to order any wine they carry.( or 425−869−9463) I will let you go in and make your own assessment World of Wines, but I have no doubts that you to will want to rav about this place to your friends and family as well. But, with wine as with most things, to each their own. –By: Cassee Holm

Excellent wine store. They have a large collection and are always willing to help or give recommendations if you have and questions. Occasional wine tastings as well! Personally, I recommend going on Fridays for their wine tastings, then walking down to Malt & Vine for their Friday beer tasting.
