Amazing chicken tikka:). Soft and well marinated meat. Flavors made me nostalgic of the taste of Punjab. I am definitely going back.

Wanted to start my visit to WA out with some curry, had been on an amtrak train eating nothing but burgers and sandwiches so wanted something spicy after arriving. Found this place on Unilocal and me and a college friend decided to check it out for dinner. Order the butter chicken, sheekh kebab, gol gappa and desserts. I enjoyed everything, my friend who hadn’t tried most of the dishes besides butter chicken really enjoyed his meal and became a fan. Great way to start week in Bellevue/Redmond area.

Am updating my review. This rating is mainly due to the courtesy and sweetness of the people at the restaurant. Aloo paratha is still brilliant. You just can’t say no to food prepared with love.

I recently tried Samsosa. It was really really good. I think they recently have gone through a change of ownership and under new owner things are looking really better.

Again I truly do not like giving one star unless there are major deficiencies, but here it is unfortunately warranted. Décor/Ambiance: I think the pictures offered are very select in not showing the entire restaurant which looks more like a small fast food/hole in the wall. This is not an issue as long as the food is good. Food taste/quality: I disagree with anyone on here who stated the food quality is good. Too much salt is used to enhance flavor. The chicken used was low-mid grade. The sauce of the butter chicken had an artificial sweetness I couldn’t identify. The pictures of the food definitely look better than the taste as others noted. The garlic naan was extremely salty. I did, however, enjoy the red onion with the rice served. At the $ 7 price point you can’t expect high-end ingredients will be used but I’d hope for better than what was given. Customer Service: I suspect on a daily basis the customer service is fine, but their support when an issue arises is non-existent. I placed an order for extra naan(garlic) which I received but was supposed to also receive plain naan as part of the entrée. I quick looked at the package and it didn’t seem like it had both orders of naan, so before driving off I went back in to ensure they gave me both orders. They said they did, at which point I went home to find they had not. After calling the store they said they found my naan order in someone else’s order and that I could drive back for my naan, which I was clearly not going to do. Unfortunately the garlic naan, as I stated, was very salty so I ended up throwing it away along with a portion of what looked like under-cooked chicken. Overall cheap price but even cheaper experience and not worth it with other good Indian restaurants nearby.

Loved this place! Very reasonably priced. Avg. dish price is $ 6.99 to $ 7.99.Loved the chicken Kathi roll, butter chicken with garlic naan. We got the chicken biryani to-go which was great too. Highly recommend this place. Will make a trip to try out their kababs. This restaurant is inside Shalimar indian grocery store in Redmond square.

Small shop ideal for take out. It’s next to shalimar grocery. Had the maharaja paneer masala which was good buy had more paneer than gravy. Kebab appetizers were really good

I have been here a couple times and it’s not bad. The portions are smaller than usual, but then again, so is the price. Everything seems clean, taste good, and I haven’t had any issues after my meal. I really like how the portions and prices are geared more towards one meal/serving. It’s sometimes a pain to spend almost double for an entrée and then have to hassle with leftovers and trying to remember to get your food from the company fridge. What I’ve tried so far: Butter chicken(white meat) — it was good, not too salty, although the portion I had wasn’t that big. As far as the amount of chicken, it was ok’ish for the $ 6.99 special, although I wish they had given me a little more rice at least. I was on the verge of still being hungry after I’d eaten every single piece of chicken and every single grain of rice. Chicken buriyani — $ 6.99 special, this easily had about twice the amount of chicken(one hind quarter) and rice. The flavor was good, almost too spicy, but luckily they include a cup of that yogurt stuff to cool things down a bit as well as some pickled onions and cabbage. The one thing I didn’t like about this dish was the amount of pods, seeds, and other hard seasonings that I had to dig around or spit out. It seems like there were quite a bit more than other places…

If the rating is only for food, it could be 3. But if it is overall service, 1 star is too generous. DONOT buy their Unilocal coupons or coupons. When I showed Unilocal coupon few days back the billing person said she can’t accept it and she thought it was FAKE. When I tried to use for a to-go order on phone, I was told that it is accepted. While picking up, they billed me for full charge and refused to redo the bill with the coupon. On top of that, the person was SUPER rude. There are plenty on Indian places around. I think I should stop giving this place anymore chance.

Great restaurant with amazing food! Tastes like real home cooked food with nice presentation and everything. Coming from one who doesn’t like Indian food this place is the bomb. The Channa bhatura was by far the best meal I’ve had in ages. In budget? No problem everything on the menu is 7 $ or less! Definitely coming back for more very soon

I had the Afghan chicken. As others have said, the portions are on the small side but reasonable for the low price. The chicken was perfectly cooked and came with a cabbage, carrot and red onion slaw with a light vinegar-based dressing and naan bread on the side. The food was quite good. It would be great for lunch or a light dinner. EDIT: In my original review I said ‘no lamb on the menu!’ Ignore that, I am an idiot and did not look closely enough. I had their lamb biriyani today and it was excellent. It was cooked perfectly. As is traditional the lamb pieces are cooked and served bone-in, mixed right in with the rice. This makes the meat more tender and the dish more flavorful. The heat level was good; quite spicy, but not overpowering. The yogurt sauce served on the side balances the chilies nicely. This is great biriyani at a great price. I am looking forward to trying their other meat dish, their lamb curry, next time.

Amazing food at a good price. I have tried the malai tikka, afghani kabab, chicken kathi roll so far & all of them were delicious! They have a south asian flavor to their kabab items which is very authentic. The portions were kinda small for the kabab items but for $ 6.99 its definitely good. I’ll be going back for more :).

Sizzle N Spices was a great find for me, I’ll definitely be going back on occasion. It’s located in Redmond Town Center, and might be a bit hard to find(we walked around the full strip mall before realizing it was connected to Shalimar Grocery). The Kathi rolls cost $ 6.99(soon to be $ 7.99?) and are a great value for the taste. For everyone who doesn’t know what a Kathi Roll is, it’s an Indian wrap consisting of meat or paneer rolled into an egg glazed roti. Sizzle N Spices uses a rumali roti, which makes the roll a bit softer and flakier than my liking. Overall, the Kathi roll was delicious. It really reminded me of the Frankies my mom makes. The chicken was well seasoned, and the mint chutney accompanying the dish hit the spot. I also tried the Paneer Kathi Roll, and despite the great quality of the paneer it lacking a little bit of flavor. My biggest wishes for the place are: 1. Offer paratha based Kathi rolls as well as the rumali based ones. The rumali-kathi was good, but I prefer the texture and taste of parathas. 2. Offer lamb kathis. 3. Find some way to increase the portions. The rolls were –barely– enough for me. 4. Rename to Sizzle N Spice(it might just be me but I think it sounds better!) The service was a bit slow(especially seeing that my friend and I were the only diners at the time). I’ll definitely be back, but I might order ahead next time.

Sizzle N Spices is located in a shopping center connected to a tiny grocery store and has an almost bare interior. It’s the type of nondescript place you drive by a million times without really seeing. However, the location is very close to my apartment and boasts ridiculously low prices, so I figured I’d give it a try. I ordered to-go and the quiet and friendly lady at the front got my order out to me quickly. I went for the Vada pav and the Samosa Chaat. The Vada Pav was decent with an acceptable amount of spice. I, really, could’ve done without the roll as it was a smidge dry. The Samosa Chaat was, actually, really tasty. The chickpea sauce had red onions and cilantro and went very nicely with the delicious and still-crispy samosas. On a minor note, there were no utensils or napkins in my to-go bag; I feel like at least a few of each should be a given for to-go orders. All in all, the yummy dishes were enough to make me consider coming back but the awesomely inexpensive price guarantees my return. Not too shabby!

What. The. Hell. Am. I. Eating? I chose this restaurant because they deliver to my house. I received the food, unpacked it, and was not impressed. Firstly, it was very poorly packaged. All the styrofoam was drooping and had spills on it, the naan was in loosely wrapped foil, and the pakoras and samosas were in small paper bags with no condensation ventilation. I ordered the tikka masala and my husband had the butter chicken. Well, I guess I shouldn’t say«had,» because we didn’t eat either of our dishes. My first petite bite was full of bone and gristle. My second very small bite had yet another bone. At this point, I thought I was just having terrible luck with a fluke incident. Nope. Bite three was another bone. I should have given up at this point, but I offered my food to my husband, because with my luck, he wouldn’t get anymore bones in any bite. He bit into bones in mine, and then a bone in his. NOPE. No thanks. To top this all off, they forgot to give us rice(and a salad that the menu mentions?). How do you eat curry without rice? This seems like a deadly sin or something. I walked away from the table to write this review, because I don’t think a $ 47 meal for two should be a science experiment or fear-inducing event. I am actually angry at how terrible this meal was, and if I weren’t in fear of immediate food poisoning symptoms, I’d walk over to this place and ask for a refund right now. On a side note, my husband says the chai tea was decent.

This place has delicious food. The prices are very reasonable, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. They don’t shy away from all of my questions about the menu, even when I have a lot! The interior is not huge, but when I came once with a group of 10, we fit comfortably. It’s attached to an adorable market, too. I’d definitely recommend it!

My quintessential search for authentic kababs in seattle area is finally over. Whew! Tried the hariyali kabab plate and the afghani kabab. Both were excellent — very much like kababs I grew up in India on. You also get a lot of food for what you are paying(specials for $ 6.99). Clean and simple place. Love it!

New Chaat style restaurant that has just opened and part of Shalimar grocery. Menu has a number of classic Chaat dishes, some entrees(both Northern and Southern Indian style), naan, roti etc Pretty decent menu for a small place. Only a couple of tables to eat at inside. Order at a counter(good!). I thought the prices a little high for the quantity received. We walked out still hungry after ordering two chaat, a vegetarian entrée, a side of roti, and butter chicken. Quality of the food was definitely above average though. Very fresh and flavorful. I really enjoyed the sprout bhel although my husband thought it lacked flavor and actually added some salt to it. Butter chicken was very good and the vegetarian special entrée(I think it was spiced paneer? or could have been tofu but that’s not Indian) was absolutely delicious. The paneer cubes were covered in an amazing paste of ground cilantro, maybe lemongrass, and coconut. Almost tasted more Thai than Indian but not quite. Nice presentation on some of the dishes, but we didn’t get enough forks to eat with and the server disappeared after bringing the food. A little awkward sharing one fork and two spoons among four people. They were also out a number of items on their menu.

This is a new café under new management. It’s completely remodeled. The place is sleek, simple and clean. The dishes were well portioned and delicious! Everything was made fresh. For a family of 5 we spent $ 40 and still took home some food. We loved the kababs! The chicken was very tender. Service was quick and friendly. I love that everything is compostable. We’ll be returning.
