Herfy’s Burgers

Definitely over-​rated. French fries are those «big bag of frozen crinkles» that you get at an amusement park. Swiss on the burger was one of those kraft cheese-​like shiny gooey slices from your childhood, the burger seemed premade and frozen as well (not sure, might be wrong on that one). The condiments are the usual poor quality control of hard bitter pieces of lettuce and translucent reddish discs I’m assuming to be tomatoes. Our search for a good local mom and pop burger place continues. The zucchini fries were decent.

Great burgers, I passed this place up for years and just started going now and then. I like the special sauce very classic taste.

Do you like a greasy spoon burger? Do you like thick frosty milkshakes? Do you like crinkle cut French fries? Do you like friendly service? Do you like decent prices? Do you not really care about ambiance?
If you answered yes to the above questions then you will not be disappointed with this Herfeys location. Seriously. When I want a no-​nonsense burger and a thick shake (banana is my FAV) served by friendly people this is where I come for my fix.
I can’t speak to the sides /​appetizer selection of the menu here but what I’ve seen come out from the kitchen looks to be pretty good. At this location (not true for all locations) you order at the register and they bring your grub to you.

I’ve been coming to Herfy’s for years. The service is exquisite, the food is homely, and the atmosphere is just wonderful. Thanks to Jimmy and the whole family for years of family dining!

I know that some may feel 5 star reviews should be saved for Canlis or Met Grill, but I think reviews need to be based on cost and expectations. Herfy’s is an excellent hamburger joint.
It is located at an odd mall in Redmond that might be hard to find – but still attracts a good crowd. I had there single cheeseburger special, but I added mushrooms to burger, switched to onion rings from fries, and switched to vanilla shake from pop. The star was probably the onion rings, hand breaded, perhaps the bait in Seattle area. The burger was very tasty, good meat, definitely add the mushrooms. Then the shake clearly uses real vanilla ice cream, just perfect.
Although it was busy, service was fast. I will definitely be back.

I could bathe in that fry sauce. It’s really that good. I wanted to order everything on the menu. For real though, everything from burgers to seafood to. mozzarella sticks? Yes, please. Another good burger score in Redmond! Friendly folks, great place to chill to grab a bite after work. I’ll be back!!!

I’ve been enjoying Herfy’s Burgers for a few years now.
Very friendly staff, average wait for your food and it’s just yummy.
The home-​made onion rings are sooo tasty as well as their burgers.

Their burgers are freshly made and the fries/​onion rings are crunchy! Love their service too — always friendly.

First of all, I can’t enough of their fries and fry sauce! The bacon sourdough burger is my fav so far and the fish and chips. Really good milkshakes with a lot of choices, but coconut is the best! This is definitely better than going to fast food chains and they make the food just as fast, but with better quality. The staff is very friendly too and I have always had a good experience. Highly recommended!

Really great place to go for a burger. They make a delicious sandwich and; although substitutions are allowed, I get it just the way they make it. The price is fine and some things are a good deal because you get the right quantity, not too big and a good deal for the money. Or you can get the larger size if that’s what you are accustomed to. I really like this place, next time I go I am going to try to eat vegetarian just to see what they make the vege-​burger out of.
I think it is a fun place to eat also because yu get the «fry sauce» right on the table. Also there is ample dining space where you get a bit of elbow room.

When you’re feeling like good quality fast food (!!), Herfy’s is the place to go! I like how friendly the staff are, and the speed at which they get everything prepared. The bacon cheeseburger is so so good!
I checked out a chicken breast burger recently also, it was very tasty (but the chicken breast was a bit tiny).
The regular fries, and curly fries, are both so fresh and yum. And as many others have said, get their fries sauce!!!
I find the place very clean — at least I’ve never seen anything that made me worry about cleanliness (unlike another reviewer).
Overall, a top pick over McDonald’s (or others) for fast food.

We came in close to closing time (when most folks are angry that you DARE visit their establishment) and was warmly greeted by one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. She noticed my pained expression (so many menu options but not enough time to consider them all) and reassured me that there is no rush and any choice I make will be a good choice. So nice!
We settled on a mushroom burger with swiss, a bacon sourdough burger, curly fries, and a butterscotch shake. She was right, everything we ordered was a good choice.
Tips:
— GET THE FRY SAUCE, EVEN IF YOU DON’T HAVE FRIES!!!
— try a shake!
— don’t mike the fry sauce with the shake. The fry sauce is good with ALMOST everything on the menu :-)

I’ve recently stopped by to grab a burger but decided not to eat here due to the cleanliness and food handling violations I observed while looking at their menu. Front counter person was working both front and back. No hand washing or gloves after touching cash then handled raw meat.
Would not recommend eating here.

I’ve been here a few times for lunch. It’s not the best burger in town, not the nicest décor, not the most exceptional restaurant experience, but it’s consistently «good.»
If you’re looking simply for a good burger as opposed to a new burger experience a la Tipsy Cow, I’d recommend Herfys.

I wanted fish and chips and I wish I hadn’t bothered. It cost $ 10 for a tiny plate of food and no drink and the fish was chewy with no flavor. I would not eat here again.

Really Great Place for Take-​Out or Eat In. Love their Fresh Fried Fish. 2 – 3 Piece Halibut, Clams, Shrimp and Scallops Combo + Chips, Piece Shrimp 9 or 13 piece Shrimp. Their Shrimp is Large Frozen Shrimp. Don’t know their supplier but it’s good. Everything comes out piping hot. And The staff is friendly and helpful in boxing it up for take out. Haven’t tried the burgers yet because the Seafood is so good. It’s a Great Find in Downtown Redmond. Try it and you’ll really really enjoy it.
PS: All the other reviews talk about their Burgers –so they must be GOOD!

I love this place. It has the feel of a burger and shake shack in a small town in the 80s. Do you remember that place? The place you loved to go to when you were a kid, where you begged your parents to take you to, and you would finally get to go once every few months? Then you moved away, and came back as an adult and wondered, «Why the hell did I like this?» The burgers were dry and tasteless, and the fries were soggy and cooked in rancid oil. That’s not Herfy’s. Eating at Herfy’s is like eating at that place in your memories, not the place that it actually was or has become.
There’s nothing fancy about the burgers, they are just well put together. There are no volcanoes of grease and cheese oozing down your face like seems to be the trend in burgers. I get a bacon cheeseburger with all the toppings (onion, lettuce, tomato, and whatever sauce they put in it). The bun is lightly toasted, and everything is put on the burger is perfect proportion. The crinkle-​cut fries are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. This is enough to satisfy my healthy (hefty? Herfy?) appetite. You could go crazy and get a double or triple burger, but then you’re just showing off.
It’s way too convenient having this place just a block away. I won’t have that problem in a couple weeks when we move into Seattle. I think we may have to make the occasional road trip to Redmond just to grab ourselves some Herfy’s.

I ordered a swiss mushroom burger with a veggie patti, and curly fries. Surprisingly, this hole in the wall makes really good burgers. I drenched mine in thousand island dressing and then went to town on it. It definitely hit the spot. Wash things down with some mountain dew and my life is complete.
Good thing I’m married because I did not look cute eating this burger.
Will be back!

This is a review of a carry-​out order from Herfy’s Burgers in Redmond, Washington.
My brother offered to pick us up some dinner. He suggested Herfy’s and I quickly gave a thumbs up.
He said the staff was friendly, polite, and efficient. He also said the food didn’t take very long to be prepared. But, it was prepared to order.

Double Cheeseburger — This was a good old school burger. It was juicy. There was plenty of cheese. The tomato was a nice big slice. The lettuce was shredded. This means that, for me, it gets scraped off immediately. But I am quite proficient at disposing of shredded lettuce. This was a nice big juicy burger. I could get the touch of flame broiled flavour. It is served on a nice traditional sesame seed bun. The burger held together very well. All around, this was a burger I really enjoyed.
Onion Rings — These were great. They were big. They were crunchy. The onions were sweet. The breading stuck to the onions. Good stuff!!!
Hefty Burger and Seasoned Curly Fries — This was my brothers order. He provided accolades all around.
Shakes — I had chocolate. My brother had pineapple. These aren’t fancy shakes. But they sure are good shakes. They were more of a straw shake than spoon shake. They have a ton of flavours to select from. So, I guess that makes them a little fancy.
Packing — The food was neatly packed for carry out. The food that was supposed to be hot was still pretty hot. The shakes were still cold and in great shape, no evil shake foam had formed.
Cost (Very Filling Dinner for two including small shakes): $ 28.08
Overall — I thought this was a great burger shop. The food was freshly prepared The burgers were great. The onion rings rocked. The shakes were tasty. The service was friendly and fast. Herfy’s Burgers is exactly what an old school burger joint is supposed to be.
