Crave Golf is a central Oregon golfers dream. Sunny fairways in the winter is worth its weight in gold. A full sized golf simulator complete to every aspect of the game. Give this place a try. Scott has put together many tools to help out an armature hack such as my self, or a scratch golfer. Call him up and schedule an appointment, he has done wonders for my game. He definitely has a knack for teaching and seems to really enjoy what he does. Ive had many people work on my game and none have given me these kind of results. He not only gives me tips on my swing and technique, but an overall understanding and confidence that really shows results. Different rates just to play, or for a lesson. This guy is a PGA pro who knows the game well. Have a foursome that gets restless in the winter, he holds scramble tournaments all winter long, cheap entry fees($ 25), get some guys(or gals) together and get in the action. Give this place a try, its always good for a rainy afternoon.

yes, i am in oregon visiting the parental units for another fine christmas. its cold. the town is… quaint. i am wearing 5 layers of clothing as i write this. so, when my dad told me that we were going to «the beach» on christmas eve, i thought he had lost his ever loving mind. well, i still think he’s lost his ever loving mind, but we did actually go to «the beach» on christmas eve. Pebble Beach to be precise. no, we didn’t drive down to california. instead we ended up at Crave Golf Learning Center run by Scott Cravens(nicest guy ever, btw). turns out Crave Golf has a virtual reality set up that lets you play every course known to man(well at least in the 50 states). its the coolest thing ever. you stand about 8 to 10 ft away from a screen, tee up, and hit away. the computer measures your swing speed while the screen shows you what a horrible hack you are. i sliced like 30 million times. and putting. don’t get me started on putting. even though the computer was awesome(it did everything: simulated wind speed, showcased a lovely Pebble Beach course, gave me forgiving mulligans when i took a dive off a cliff) the best thing about this place was Scott Cravens. he got right in there and helped you with everything from your swing to the way you thought about the game. the man was a miracle worker. he worked with me for 5 minutes, and already my shot was corrected and i could actually hit straight! i swear. no lie. well, straight most of the time when i kept my eye on the ball. for those golfers who cant get out on the course during the winter because your car is pretty much snowed in and you wouldn’t see a ball if you tried, Crave Golf is the place to be. you can keep your game up and get some great tips from an awesome pro. i really did love going to «the beach» on christmas eve :) and yes, my dads still crazy.
