I recently was the maid of honor for my friend who was married at the Big Picture. I was actively involved in working with my friend to help prepare for all the details leading up to the big day. If I were to rate the venue itself, I would have to give it four stars. The venue is fantastic. The theatre is comfortable, the lobby area has fantastic décor, and the bartender was great. However, if you are renting this place for a special event, the service was none existent for the price you are paying, and there were many surprise fees that came up along the way. I have participated and helped with many weddings, and the service here was towards the lowest I have experienced. However, if you were not behind the scenes like me, I am sure you would have rated this highly as a venue. I would love to experience seeing a movie here, but I wouldn’t recommend it as a venue to rent for a special event.

By far my favorite place to see a movie!!! No kids, comfy chairs, and drinks! The ambiance is perfect, it’s a great date night or girl’s night out. I’ve been a patron for years, but only felt compelled to write a review after going to iPic and realizing how much better Big Picture is! Same idea, less expensive, and less dirty. I’ll give iPic one thing, their VIP recliners are VERY comfortable! If they weren’t so dirty… Stick with Big Picture, I’ve never had a bad time there!

YES! DOIT! My biggest gripe in going to movie theaters has always been the people you sit around(namely teenagers). Well, here’s the answer to your problems! Not only is this a great atmosphere outside of the theater — more of a lounge feel, with full bar, but the theater itself is quite comfortable. I don’t think that the cost of a ticket is actually any different from a normal theater, but of coure they’re going to try to suck you into the bar. It’s worth it! They also deliver to your seat through the movie. Have been a few times and will keep going back. Note: there is also a theater in Belltown, and while the idea is good, it definitely doesn’t have the same open, comfortable sitting area outside the theater. But I still recommend it for seeing movies.

I don’t like children. I mean, I am sure your kids are adorable and all, but I don’t want to see pictures of them on facebook. I most definitely don’t want to listen to them cry and/or talk while I am at the movies. Plus, drinking in the middle of the day is ALWAYS a good idea. Which is where Big Picture comes in. Personally, I am a fan of Cinnebarre, but Big Picture is near by and we figured we would check it out for Hunger Games. I see all the Harry Potter movies at 21+ establishments, now that the series is over, I will now see all the Hunger Games there. Personally, I think for $ 15 it’s a bit expensive, but it’s worth it to not have children around. I can cuss to my heart’s content and not worry about dirty looks or parents covering their children’s ears. But, the lobby is fantastic, with cute comfy chairs, there are also pool tables, which are free, and you get a bottle of water, so overall it’s a great experience. They have overpriced cocktails, which is to be expected. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here, but it’s a great experience and location for certain movies that would otherwise have lots of children at.

Awesome cinematic experience, and fifteen bucks is an entirely reasonable price to pay for it as well. The theatre is only 80 seats large and has a slightly smaller screen as well. The outside lounge area has a full bar as well as a lounge and a billiards table. The draw of the theatre here is the ability to order drunks before the movie and then have them delivered to your seat during the movie. Great spot for a date. Arrive early and get a seat along the middle aisle towards the back

Great place for groups and for a date night! While it’s a little bit more expensive than regular cinemas, you get cocktails, a swanky lounge, fantastic service and a smaller audience. With your movie ticket purchase, you get a candy and a bottle of water. Only one selected movie is shown at a location — arrive early so you can enjoy some pool, popcorn or a round of drinks before the movie starts. The staff is attentive, friendly and make a mean martini! We ordered a round of drinks before our movie started. They were delivered to our seats(and our previous glassware collected) so discreetly halfway through the movie that we didn’t miss a scene. The seats are so comfy! The theater wasn’t crowded when we went on a Friday evening and there was a lot of parking at Redmond Town Center. The Big Picture is located near the Macy’s and REI. Inside the lounge area, is The Q Club(pool tables) but it’s not immediately apparent since it’s to the left of the entrance, bar, washrooms and theatre area. So tempted to book it for our next big family and friends event. It’s edged out Lincoln Square as my favourite cinema on the Eastside. :)

Wow, I can’t believe all the times I’ve been to Redmond Town Center and never knew this was upstairs across from Macy’s! It’s a hidden gem — comfortable, stylish and worth the price tag. Our showing had very few people and I love enjoying a film that feels like a private showing. I always want my popcorn served in a champagne bucket now! And the drinks were quite well made. 4 stars instead of 5 because the seats don’t seem«tall enough» to offer neck support. But the chairs themselves are very comfortable(memory foam!). I will be back.

I just love The Big Picture — both this location and the one in Seattle. It’s just a fun place to go to the movies. I never wind up getting anything to drink(BOOZE, that is) when we go but I just love the atmosphere & comfort of the theatre seats.(I wish this location had couches, like the Seattle location does, though!!) The popcorn kind of sucks, but I really don’t care — I don’t go for the popcorn. Every time we’ve gone, it’s always been pretty quiet & low key, not a lot of people. And the staff has always been really cheerful and nice. My only«complaint» is that they only have one screen! I’m always in the mood to catch a movie here, but have to wait until the movie we just saw is done it’s round and they start showing something new!

I LOVEIT!!! One movie showing at a time, few staff members, but they take great care of you. Reasonable prices and comfortable chairs at a very reasonable price. We were fans of Gold Class(iPic) but since the change of administration, the prices are ridiculuos for that uncomfortable chair. Will definitely be making the change!

I came here a sunday hoping to catch a movie before the end of the night. The first thing that caught my eye was that it wasn’t just a movie theater, there was a lounge, a bar and even a bunch of pool tables? What the. I’ve never seen anything like it, and I really wish I knew sooner so I could take advantage of the place. However, the place seems to be a bit more much for the theater screen size, I feel like the place is more situated for optimal sound and for a more social experience. Will I visit this place again? sure, but it probably isn’t the goto place for all movies out there.

Im not gonna lie, I wouldn’t be disappointed if I never went to this place again. The décor in the lobby is absolutely stunning and it’s great they have a full bar available but i was so turned off about everything else that has to do with this place. Especially when the bar tender tried to tell me the right way to make a drink because he ‘invented it’. i’m pretty sure he didn’t ‘invent’ sweet tea vodka. Anyway… I went to a midnight showing of The Hangover 2 and i kid you not there were only 5 other people in the whole place not including myself and my 3 girlfriends. Buzz kill! I was shocked at how over priced the tickets were once i walked into the theater. There was nothing out of the ordinary to make this theater special, it was like any other old movie theater screen with small seats and cup holders. I especially didn’t like that YOU had to get out of your seat and miss the movie if you wanted another drink or snack. Candy and Popcorn are the only options too, bummer! I’d rather go to Cinebarre. Cheaper tickets, full menu of food, beer & wine AND you get served the whole entire movie while sitting in the exact same theater but with a table in front of you to put your drinks and food on.

I love this place. I keep telling myself I want to go there and play some pool, but I still need to get around to that. It’s a really chill lounge-type vibe. It’s nice to go to see movies here so you’re not surrounded by screaming high school students like most of the local megaplexes. Their drinks are good(and strong!) and if you ask, they will deliver you a refill at your seat, during the movie, at a time of your choice! Sweet. Their popcorn is great, too — nice cheesy topping you can have sprinkled on there if you want. I wish they showed more movies, or had more screens, but that might ruin the atmosphere. There’s some food available if you want to eat while you’re there, but I haven’t tried it — seems like it would be a little too much of a hassle. Drinks? Yes — there is a cup holder. Food? Ehhh … I can imagine most of that ending up on my lap! If you sign up for their email mailing list, you’ll occasionally get a coupon for half off your second ticket.

I have never written a review before but after going to big picture I had to. Everyone else has written such great ones that I was pumped for my first experience tonight. I have to precede this review with the fact that I am a gold class cinemas girl. I love everything about gold class, except that they weren’t showing water for elephants! I read the reviews that big pictures Monday nights were cheaper but our tickets were still $ 15 a piece(full price), which is totally fine, we pay $ 22 at gold class and it’s fully worth it. The big picture website says that your $ 15 ticket includes a bottle of water they say it’s a $ 3.50 value, so I expected voss, it was a small $.80 water. They only offer 2 food choices, hot dogs or a digorno pizza($ 8) When we ordered their«award winning» popcorn it was just a premade up bucket of cold popcorn with some Safeway like white cheddar sprinkled on, I’m not sure how long it had been sitting there, cause there were 2 others next to it. When we came into the theater I was quite surprised, call me crazy but I thought big picture meant big picture. It was the smallest screen I had ever seen in a theater. Also the movie didn’t even start until 10 min after it was supposed to, at one point I turned around and asked the other guests if we had the time right. It was strange. My one star is for the seats cause they are comfy. But seriously, go to gold class where you get pillows, blankets, a fully reclinable chair, free refillable soda, free popcorn and a waiter at the push of a button! And a table to put it all on. Plus they have a real chef and a REALLY good big menu!

Still my favorite film venue. Lately Mr. Stern will lead a movie with an announcement or some banter with audience, which makes it very familial and as personal as it gets with the experience.

This theater is super swanky and comfy– especially considering the price for a ticket here! It’s definitely a good deal(though I can’t speak for the popcorn since I have yet to try it), and the seats are ridiculous comfy compared to– well, any other theater. The screen is a bit smaller than average, but I have no problem with that. The option to order drinks and set up a schedule for having them delivered to your seat at specific times throughout the movie is kindof amazing– I’ve never seen that anywhere else, and I love it. Big Picture was also our venue for a few company holiday parties– and it was great! The interior is covered in various textures and warm golds/reds– you instantly feel a million times classier just walking in the place. Very cool. B)

Checked out the Big Picture for the first time this past weekend. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience. I was completely expecting it to be overpriced — however I was happily surprised. Seven bucks? Sweet. And what’s even better, if you go there on a Monday or a Tuesday, it’s seven bucks all day long! Bonus. The screen’s a little smaller than I’d hoped, however the sound system is excellent and the seats are really comfortable. I loved the whole idea of being able to have a glass of beer(yes, a GLASS) while watching a movie. However, I can’t really say much for the popcorn as I’m pretty convinced that it was pre-popped and came in one of those giant costco sized bags before they then poured it into the strange little orange bowls that they sell it to you in. Thumbs down on the popcorn unfortunately. Thumbs UP however, for the staff here. Everyone I encountered was super nice and helpful and genuinely cared that you had a good time while you were here. Definitely a reversal from what you’re used to encountering from the kids who work at the mulitplex. The only other thing I’ll say about Big Picture, and this isn’t so much a complaint as much as it is an observant critique: what’s up with the décor? Parts of this place felt like it was trying to throw back to the 20’s. Parts felt like a paisley disco. And other parts felt like a pimp’s crushed velvet hideway. A little chaotic. Plus, I think it all kinda ends up as wasted space as I didn’t see anyone sitting on any of the furniture before the movie. People pretty much bought their tickets and headed in to get their seats. All in all, I think the Big Picture is going for a great idea here. And in most places, it delivers. In other places, it tries a little too hard and kinda overshoots — way too far. Nevertheless, if you want to see a movie in a nice, plush environment, and that’s away from the throngs of high school kids lining up to see the latest Drew Barrymore biopic, give the Big Picture a shot. Hell, you can even GET a shot at the bar before the movie starts! Bonus.

I have only been once so far but it was a great experience & I would definitely go back! Big Picture was the only theater to play George Michael’s(concert) movie and that is why I went. I do not live near Redmond and so my extreme love for GM is what brought me in. THEN I found out you can drink in the theater??? What’s NOT to like? After dinner with girlfriends, we hit up the Big Picture and I was immediately impressed by the attire & professionalism of the staff. It felt upscale but not stuffy. We ordered drinks(real glass… not plastic cups– thank goodness) & they offered to bring us fresh rounds during the film so we wouldn’t have to miss any of the movie. Needless to say… we took them up n this offer and throughout the movie, they would quietly enter from the back & bring us drinks to our seats. It was awesome!!!

This place is great! I went there one time with my boyfriend-at-the-time and we both loved it. The staff at the bar were super nice and helpful and made me a delicious Malibu & Pineapple(my fave) and my friend something tasty too. Their white cheddar popcorn was cold, but still way better then regular movie places. I really liked that it is 21+ because I don’t have to deal with annoying teens that constantly talk throughout the movie and scream. Yay. Another awesome thing is that you can schedule them to bring you a drink during the movie also, heck yeah man! They have a neat lounge area, very comfy couches and chairs and there is a pool/billiards room that you can play pool in(although I think you have to pay for pool.) Their prices were reasonable, although to save more cash I recommend signing up for their email newsletter because they do occasionally email out a coupon you can print out for discounted ticket. The Redmond location shows ‘older’ movies, not brand new releases. So keep that in mind, but the ambiance of the place is totally worth not seeing new movies :)

Posh. This one is posh. Maybe because it is situated in the land of Microsoft. The lobby area is nice and a cool place to chill out(I like the Seattle lobby a little more). The drinks here are nice. I like ordering a caipirinhas… or maybe a beer. Although you can’t get a meal here(we can’t have everything), they do have some nice pocorn. I’ve seen«The Lives Of Others» and«Darjeling Limited».

I can’t believe how relatively inexpensive this place is compared to a ‘normal’ theater. Given that I can have alcohol pre-ordered before I sit, and request a set schedule of re-fills! $ 7 Tuesdays! The double rum and coke I ordered was cheap by any Eastside bar standards, and a many Seattle bar standards, and was well worth it! More«coke» than I’d get at most of my favorite bars(Baranoff) but it’s not really fair to compare anything to the Baranoff, now is it? The sound was a bit off in the beginning of the movie, but either it adjusted once out of their standard«quit talking» credits, or they noticed and fixed it before the movie really got going. The snack offerings aren’t that wonderful, and a bit pricey, but at least my M&M’s were served in a cute little fancy glass that fit in the cup holder! The popcorn also comes w/a side ‘glass’ of cheese topping you can sprinkle on if that’s your thing. The lobby was just gorgeous and would be very comfortable to sit, lounge and have drinks before your showing started. And the seats, mother of god, the best theater seats i’ve been in all damn year. Comfy, tall enough for me, with adequate leg room. The service was friendly and adequate. I’m a definite fan of Big Picture! They lose one star for the ‘standard movie theater A/C issue”, but that’s about it. Normally I find a way around the ‘chill’ issue other than keeping my coat on, but had i tried those manuevers with the company of Jake and Sean, well… let’s just say the« Unilocal flow chart of sin» would have gotten more complex. The movie was also excellent! Let the Right One In was a fantastic film.
