Poor rating because of customer service. Unfortunately they are one of the few places in the area that supplies what I need and each year I contact them, they are less helpful and more rude. Poor poor poor customer service.

I love it! First place I check when I am looking for a costume. They have a huge selection. Also, if you know you are only going to use something once, they have the option to rent for lower than the purchase price. The owner is super nice and obviously loves what she does. In fact, everyone who works there whom I have met have always been happy to help you find the perfect costume. Definitely a favorite of mine!

The staff here are super friendly and helpful. The shop itself is a little small but they still have a nice selection of various costumes and accessories.
If you’re going for decorations I might go elsewhere but this place is great for costumes, accessories, and even has an okay selection of makeup.

For my specific needs (i.e. buying a masquerade mask), I would rate this store a 4.
Our company had a masquerade ball, and we needed some masks. We stopped by the party stores, but the masks that they had were pretty cheaply made and flimsy, if you could even find a store that had them available.
After researching online for stores that had them, I found A Masquerade Costume. They offer a huge selection of masks online, and their store has two walls full of masks: everything from paper mache to leather ones. We were able to find two masks in the 20 – 30 dollar range and had a good time at the party. One thing to note: there are no returns on the masks once you buy them.
This store has a lot of costumes to buy and rent as well. I will have to stop by next time for Halloween.

I love this place! I had a work event were everyone needed to dress up as a movie character and didn’t know what I was going to do. I stopped in this last Friday and was greeted with a store packed with costumes and a staff full of ideas. They were extremely helpful and gave me several ideas. The store is a bit cramped but that’s because they have so much to choose from. Themes include Victorian, Barbarian, Steam Punk, Harry Potter, Horror, Masquerade, South Pacific, Disco, Christmas, Rocky Horror and many others. They also have a wide selection of makeup supplies. I would highly recommend this store to anyone for year-​round costume needs.

AMAZING customer service! Kyra, the owner, went above-​and-​beyond the call of duty today to save our school’s visit from St. Nicholas with a last-​minute beard and wig. We couldn’t be happier with our experience.

Look no further — this is the greatest costume shop in the Seattle area.
I go to a lot of costume parties, and I also throw a lot of my own. Kyra and her staff has never failed to meet my needs. I’ve shopped here… 30 times? I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve walked in with no idea what to wear and I just tell them the theme, and the staff either (a) digs up the perfect costume for me, or (b) get my creative juices flowing with their ideas so I can piece together my own outfit.
You can rent stuff or buy it. I’ve rented costumes worth $ 500+ for only about $ 60 which got compliments all night. If you want to be the guy or girl that people are grabbing at the party to take pictures with you, shop here!
Are there problems with the place? Well, there’s an overwhelming supply which might make you dizzy, but that’s what the staff is there for. And because of how much stuff they have, I wish the store was larger and less cramped but that’s only a problem if you’re shopping last minute for big events like Halloween. (There used to be a Georgetown store too, but now everything is in Bellevue.) The only other problem is I wish I had more money to spend here!

Over the last year I’ve stopped in to grab odds and ends on several occasions and always had a positive experiences. This past weekend I was attending an event with a couple friends and none of us had anything that fit the theme. Stopped in on lunch and left 20 minutes later with a complete outfit that exceeded all my expectations. After hearing this, both friends followed suit and also had great experiences.
Couldn’t recommend more strongly.

I was attending the MadMonster show in Bellevue this weekend. At the last minute I called to see if I could get a costume. I was looking for a Columbia from Rocky Horror. I was told they did have one and to come on in. I dropped by an hour later and walked out with a fantastic costume. When I attended my event I was lucky enough to meet Lil Nell. She complimented me on how amazing I looked and several attendees said I was the best dressed they had seen all weekend. The staff was friendly and helpful. The selection of costuming is extensive and of a good quality. I highly recommend this shop.

Try to avoid speaking to the owner at all costs. She’s a piece of work and may have missed her meds. Her staff on the other hand are incredible and very helpful! I would have purchased my Halloween costume here, but after the rudest interaction with the owner off of a miscommunication from her staff to me and her having a breakdown over it… we won’t be back…

I was in the midst of working on some cosplays when I found out about this place online. It took me a while to find it (kind of a hole-​in-​the-​wall location with no obvious outside signage) but I’m glad I did. In fact I wish I’d found it sooner!
The first time I stopped by (ended up visiting 3 times in about the span of a week) the place was a bit of a mess, but that’s because they were prepping for Halloween. Each subsequent time they were still filled to the brim with stuff, but everything was off the floor and sorted by theme. You really do need the staff to find everything you want, but everyone I spoke to was at least helpful if not friendly.
Besides the costumes and accessories, they’ve got a makeup section, a masquerade mask section, and a decent wig section. None of the wigs looked quite as fancy or customizable as some of the ones you’ll find online on specialty shops (the kind you can actually put heat to to style yourself) but they still had a fairly large range, and a few styling accessories. I didn’t need any makeup but I’ve heard they have makeup artists that’ll style you there. Their footwear selection is also pretty large, with more styles available for some popular outfits than you’d see elsewhere, i.e. pirate boots.
There’s a case by the door full of weird old things like dried hands and skeletons. I could never figure out if those were just for display or if they were actually selling/​renting them? They seemed like high-​end Halloween decorations, creepy sort of stuff.
I’d say one of the unique things about this place (besides all the costumes) is that they let you rent basically anything instead of buying it outright. Most adults can appreciate how expensive paying for a full costume can be, even pre-​packaged, all-​inclusive ones. And not owning it means it doesn’t end up cluttering your storage or being used over and over; you are now free to use a different costume for every occasion!
I’m glad they offer rentals as the boots I found for my costume (which I couldn’t find anywhere else mind you) would’ve been pretty pricey had I decided to buy them, but to rent they were cheaper than I’d imagined and they also had a really nice rental period of a whole week. Since my event was only four days long, that gave me plenty of time to return them since I picked them up the day before. You really can rent anything though, and I’ll admit I kind of snickered at seeing the 25 cent bracelets on one of the walls. But I’m a hypocrite, as I decided to spring for the bandanna rental that increased my total by a whole dollar.
Their policy of paying up-​front for reserves (meaning they can’t rent it out and maybe lose business), giving them your card info (in case you run off with their stuff) and paying the difference if you damage/don’t return an item all seemed fair. Returning my rentals was easy; I just walked in and gave them a bag, they checked my original rental agreement and I went on my way. Took maybe 5 minutes.
I ended up really happy I found this place as one of the pieces I’d ordered online ended up not coming in until the day I had to leave, so I rushed here in a panic to pick up a replacement. I’m glad I did, as the online purchase ended up not even fitting and I had to give it away. I’ve told my other cosplay-​inclined friends about this place, and with Halloween coming up I’m sure they’ll get lots of business coming their way! I can only hope they get a better sign though!

Rented about 40 items for a Burlesque Holiday Birthday Party. Fantastic customer service, they were flexible on price, and had exactly what I was looking for. Such a hit with my guests. Especially for photos.

Got my face painted for a masquerade ball recently and had a great experience. The mask looked great and my painter (sorry, forgot her name) was friendly and efficient. The price isn’t super cheap, but definitely worth it for me.

If you need a mask then this is the place to go to! I go to a masquerade ball every year and I wanted to find a mask that was cool looking and something I could wear for an hour or two. What I found here were some of the most amazing masks I’ve ever seen. Visually striking masks that were made out of a semi-​flexible latex that were comfortable when you tied them on. There were so many styles and colors to choose from and I was thoroughly impressed.

Small warehouse like space, offering lots of costumes, wigs, shoes, accessories, adult stuff and kids stuff, for rental or sale. The shop has fitting rooms too!
The staffs were friendly and helpful. Due to the sheer volume of items on display, it was bit overwhelming for the first-​timer like me, but the store staffs helped me putting together items that i needed. Actually i think you NEED help from the staff otherwise you would never know what’s where and how much it would cost you, lol, to me it was like wondering into someone’s big attic full of stuff. Things are loosely categorized like «pirate» or «victorian» but you can also pull out an apron from chef costume and mix it with deep south style, and attach some french maid accessories. It’s fun in a chaotic way but you would need to meander narrow isles up and down so many times.

I visited their new-​ish store in Georgetown. I just happened to drive past a few hours before I was going to the EMP Undead Prom party and popped in as I didn’t have a costume. The staff is so helpful and the costumes are way better than what I have seen at other stores in Seattle. I’ll definitely go back there next time I’m buying/​renting a costume. The costume they helped me put together was so great that I was crowned Queen of the Undead prom that night :)
And the masks are gorgeous!

Great place to pick up a costume or two! Staff is super helpful. They even have plus sizes — god bless them! I did spend mucho denaro so I get that would be the only minus to this shopping experience.

The owner is so sweet and really loves what she does and makes your shopping experience fun and exciting! And there variety and quality was 100 times better then what I was expecting and any other place I’ve been. Definitely comeing back !!
