First let me say that I am very disappointed and would not recommend this law firm to anyone. I used Marianna. Hevia-​cockrell. She seemed like she was going to be a very aggressive attorney from the get go so I though great. Right? Not for me, when my ex and I decided to resolve our custody issues out of court, she kept on trying to tell me how we should do things. Even after I told her the agreements we make were mutual and in the best interest of our son, she still wanted to bleed me of my retainer and draw up more unnecessary per work. She did it several times. put it this way I hired her roughly the week before thanks giving, and my ex and I made an agreement the weekend before thanksgiving, 3 or 4 days give or take. I had to go to the court house to get our old files, not her. So here it is Jan 2, and I received a statement saying that my credit is $ 1600. So she bled me of $ 2500. For my ex and I figuring everything out on our own. I can not believe the ridiculous charges on that statement. I had also sent her and email and she still wouldn’t close things up she demanded to receive paper work from the court before she would close the case. I cannot believe how I was taken advantage of in such a vulnerable state. I am extremely disappointed, and I hope if your reading this you think twice. before hiring her. She charges $ 4oo an hour and she will bleed you of the full amount very quickly! ! $ 100 to read an email, $ 70 a phone call, $ 210 for a letter to my ex ‘so atrorney, RIDICULOUS! !! DO NOT HIRE HER!!!

I found Mr. Young and his staff to be very helpful when going through my divorce. Fortunately I did not have any child custody issues and the divorce went pretty smooth. Mr Young and his staff were on top of my case and continuously gave me updates as my case went along. I have referred several friends to Mr. Young they have had similar results. I hope you don’t have to go through a divorce but if you do Mr. Young and his staff will guide you through to the best possible outcome.

Michael Young and his team did a great job for me. Michael fought for me and kept me in the loop every step of the way. His trial skills, tenacity, and dedication won me a decisive victory against a dishonest, and unreasonable ex-​wife. I would not hesitate to recommend Michael Young to anyone needing family law representation.

So disappointed with their service. First, they were quick to take my case even though they knew that the courts would not allow my argument (1^st court appearance was to explain why I wanted a trial in my custody case). The main reason I wanted a trial was to show that my ex was not spending the extra time he requested with our daughter but instead was having her stay with someone else while he picked up every extra overtime shift available. The judge said that the attorney should know that that was not a reason to modify visitation. My attorney agreed with her and even late sent me a copy of the law on that. Ummm hello! Ox you’re a family law attorney you should already be aware of this! But they didn’t care. They just told me yes we’ll fight for this and that, but they never told me that family law allows my ex to leave my daughter with a babysitter instead of me while he is at work. And they knew from day one that my number one purpose for going to court with a attorney was to fight for that very reason but they never said «you won’t win that argument because there is already case law that allows your ex to do that». Instead they took my check and started working on a case that they knew wouldn’t fly.
Anyway, $ 6000 in and never even made it close to trial. One of the things they did do was send out 3 subpoenas. Since I didn’t anticipate my bill being $ 6000 before we even made it to trial, I had to continue the case by myself. I was told that I would still get the subpoenaed documents by the original due date. Two weeks later I checked my mail and… no documents! The day after the documents were due, I called the law office to let them know I never received the documents. My attorney emailed me saying I had to contact the company they used to serve the subpoena and retrieve the documents. They told me I had to pay that company directly to get the documents. I called the company and they told me that they retracted the subpoena and request to get the documents because their policy doesn’t allow them to subpoena and copy documents for non-​attorney clients. The company verified that when my attorney told them that I was no longer represented by the law office, my attorney (and paralegal at the law
office) were warned that this would force them to retract the subpoenas. So the whole time I was waiting on those subpoenaed documents (two weeks since the day I separated from this law office) was completely useless!
The worst part is that NO ONE from the law office shared that very important piece of information from me! Instead I was told to wait until the due date and they should be delivered to my house. When I contacted the attorney about this they were virtually no help! In fact, I went into their office and spoke to Michael Young himself. He is so rude abd did not take any responsibility for this. He just said that he didn’t know that was the protocol. He said «how were we supposed to know?» I would think an attorneys office, that must use this 3^rd party to get documents that they subpoena, would be familiar with this process! And he, nor did anyone in the office or even my own attorney, NEVER apologized! They definitely make attorneys look like scum bags. However, they have been very good at reminding me that I can’t miss my monthly payment. Go figure. So disappointed. I would NEVER recommend this office to anyone. I only tried to be friendly and polite with them for so long because I didn’t realize any of this until after I had to let them go.
