King’s Rotisserie Chicken

The Good– Potato salad is the bomb and the chicken has good flavor.
The Bad– place is ran down. If they do not take care of the front area you know they are not taking care of the back area as well. This goes hand in hand. The prices reflect a place of a slightly higher quality– the chickens are very small. Very small.

I went to try this place since we were in the area and others gave it a good review. First and last time I will go here. The food had no flavor, very bland. The chicken was too fatty, rice was tasteless, and potato salad was just gross. We will stick with Juan Pollo.

This was my first time here, and my last. I got home only to discover that they got my order completely backwards. This does NOT bode well for a first timer. The chicken was just average but a bit overcooked and, therefore DRY. Contrary to popular opinion a chicken doesn’t need to be overcooked to be safe to eat. When the internal temperature reaches 165, according to the FDA, stop cooking because it is safe. Q: How long do you cook something? A: Until it’s done.
The interior of this place looks junky, filthy, trashy, and revolting. I can never understand why ethnic groups of all kinds think this appeals to Americans. I guess this is the way they do it back home. Think Tijuana street chicken boutique and you’ll get the picture.
It is disrespectful and rude to speak in a different language when someone (me) doesn’t understand. When the guy behind the counter passed my order to the guy in the kitchen, he spoke Spanish. I don’t speak Spanish. Maybe if those two had included me in the exchange, I might have detected the problem with my order.

Stopped by for a a small meal for my kids and I. I paid about $ 16 for a whole chicken, side of rice, side of beans, and a side of the BEST POTATOE SALAD! Very reasonably priced, with great food. My kids and I ate a lot, with a ton of chicken and sides left over.

This place has good chicken, great side dishes my problem is that it is just not appealing when you walk in because it looks dirty. Everything looks run down and that made me very worry about the quality. We went there because we were picking up for someone else but it turned out to have some good food. I will give the food 4 Stars and the appearance 2 Stars which is an average of 3 Stars.
The food is the exact same as Juan Pollo so if you like that you will enjoy this place. It’s important to not have the place look so dingy though!

I was a big fan of the old Juan Pollo location here, because of their chicken tacos and potato salad. Once I saw the reviews for this place, I was happy to see my favorites are still available here, and they taste the same. I went here a few times already and the chicken tacos and potato salad are still awesome. great prices too!
They have other items, similar to what you would see at Juan Pollo or the popular El Pollo Loco. I would try them, but the tacos and potato salad are all I need.
The place and the plaza where its at is kinda sketchy… so I would come here during the day.

This was the most disgusting food I’ve ever had… The beans are super salty, the potato salad tastes like mayo only, the rice was bland as well as the chicken. My dog barely ate the food. The only good thing I can say about this place is the salsa was amazing, just like Juan Pollo…

Long day, getting home late, family hungry. I was leary of going to this place right before closing…
But am so glad i did!
It was delicious. Service was quick. And the reviews about the potato salad were right on!
And i don’t eat potato salad usually, but it was awesome!

Looks like Juan Pollo but it’s not. The atmosphere and even the menu look just like Juan Pollo but it isn’t until you taste the food you notice the main difference, the taste. The rice is just flavorless, dry, really not acceptable. The chicken looks good, presentable with a nice golden brown color but again, the taste. It’s lacking something. It also carries with it a mild burnt taste that sticks around in your mouth until you wash it down with a soda.

You know how back in the day people got so excited that they would jump up in the air, click their heels together and yell, «Yippee!» Well, this chicken is that good. Don’t even get me started on the sides of beans, rice, salsa, and potato salad.
If you’ve been to a Juan Pollo chicken place, then you already know the drill here. It’s a complete knock off except that there are no pictures on the wall of inappropriately dressed adolescent girls. You know what I’m talking about.
Somehow, buying two dinners with half a chicken each is cheaper than buying the whole chicken special. How’d that happen? I’m not complaining, I’m just licking delicious chicken grease off my fingers.

I love these guys! This place may have changed names a few times over the years, but the food hasn’t changed a bit. Their chicken is ridiculously delicious, the rice is soft and chewy, and the potato salad is to die for. It’s right by a liquor store on the north side, but don’t let that turn you away. I promise it’s totally safe and the food is soooo worth the trip. I go here all the time. Their deals are also great! 2 whole chickens for $ 20! Where else can you get a deal like that?

Catered our daughter’s wedding: Delivered 40 chickens, potato salad, rice, beans and tortillas. It arrived HOT and on time and tasted WONDERFUL. Very fresh and tasty. We highly recommend them! My favorite is the chicken! Better than any other!
BTW: I just found out the name was recently changed to Rotisserie King. Same place, same great food, just a name change.

Two words — potato salad. I could eat a tub of this stuff. I like the chicken and other items as well, but I come back for the potato salad. The business has changed it’s name, by the way, to King’s Rotisserie Chicken.

Great food! I walked in and stared at the menu and there is chicken, chicken and more chicken. The food is great but if you like horchata don’t get it here. It tastes like milky water with no real flavor. The salsa is great so get extra.

Why anyone would go to El Pollo Loco when you have Pollo King right down the street is beyond me. There is absolutely no comparison. Usually chicken skin grosses me out. If they would let me order just chicken skin here, I would do it. :-) The chicken melts in your mouth, has the absolute best flavor, and the skin is crispy and seasoned to perfection. Their side dishes are great — good luck narrowing it down to 2 or 3, depending on what meal you order. Love the potato salad and the beans. Aside from the fact that the food is delicious, it’s a terrific value for the money.

(Formally known as Ruben’s King Pollo…) This is definitely my most favorite place to pick up a meal for me and my family! The prices are fantastic for just me, or the whole family for a healthy meal! All the employees are friendly and welcoming! You never have to wait! Your food is served to order and they are A++ on customer service! Royal service every time! All Hail Pollo King!
