Love this place. If you’re looking for good wings, this is your place. I have yet to have a negative expirience and I have been here over 10 times. The one in Anderson that opened up added Philly Cheese steak sandwiches. Those are also really good. Try it!!!

The sauce selection is great. The honey habanero was excellent. Unfortunately, that’s where the greatness stopped for me. The chicken is unseasoned and overcooked(dry)…if not for the sauce it would be inedible. It doesn’t matter how fresh the ingredients are, if you don’t season properly the food won’t taste good.

Little mix up on our order… Mgr corrected the mistake and more. Went above and beyond! Thank you. We will continue to visit when we can.

Great value, large chicken tenders, really good cole slaw, skinny fries… all take me back to the best of the 60’s whether they intended or not. Food cooked to order is HOT when brought to the table and no long waits. We will definately be back!

Okay I really thought this was going to be a disappointment food-wise. But the tenders/fingers were succulent, nice portion size, and they have killer dipping sauces(chili lime is awesome and hot). Wings were ‘tossed’ in their sauce, so a nice touch there and a good proportion of drumettes to wings. Ambiance zero, but what do you expect for someplace called ‘The Chicken ‘Shack’. Go for the chicken, and you will not be disappointed.

Fun new«bowl» with fries and tenders with buffalo sauce and cheese. Yummy! Make up your own. Next time I’m going to try Honey BBQ and spicy ranch and extra cheese. It did require a fork.

I have never eaten the food in the restaurant, but I have ordered over the phone and had someone pick it up on the way home. The cool thing is that the food was packaged up so well that it was still hot when we got it at home in Shingletown! The only thing that was not very good were the fries, and I just put them in the oven on broil for a couple minutes and they were great! i love the hot wings, it has been hard to find a good hot wing place in Redding. the prices seem pretty fair seeing as how its like 10 buck for a personal meal at Popeyes. I will definitely go back again, very good food!

Great food! Yet if the little young brunette is working the cash register don’t pay with cash. She has no idea how to count back change and has no customer service. They need a new face friendly face.

First off, I visit the shack every week, usually for wing wednesday. Loooove the wings and the variety of sauces. Sadly I have to rate the service as POOR. I’m sure not all employees here are the same, but usually I have the same short girl with the tattoo on her neck. She has absolutely no personality, is not friendly at all and just seems like she hates her job and everyone. I’m a pretty chipper guy, and to having to talk to her to get my delicious wings is a letdown. The other girls working seem to not have any cheer either. Just not as noticeable since they are walking back and forth from the kitchen.

This place is garbage from top to bottom. Took my kids and hated the chicken tenders so much that when I ended up going back(not my choice but going with the flow) I ordered a burger hoping it would be decent and not only did that suck too but this guy who I think was the owner hassled me about it and kept asking why I would order a burger at a chicken place. Uh, because your chicken sucks and since we’re asking stupid questions, here’s one: WHYARETHEYONYOURMENUIFYOU’REGOINGTOGIVEPEOPLESHITFORORDERINGTHEM? What a damn idiot.

Always runs out of sauces. I ordered a $ 6.99 meal that came with a drink and asked for a beer. Total was almost $ 12. Something was wrong with that! Long wait time always!!!

Nice little place for wings and strips! Battered fries and bbq beans were good too and a good selection of sauces to choose from. Wings were exceptional. Lightly breaded to a golden crisp and juicy. Wish we had one of these in the Sacramento valley…

I’m not sure my last mail went through so I’ll try again. Awhile back I had a take out dinner from here and it was extremely salty, so I wrote the business and they responded with a replacement dinner. Since then we have had a few dinners here and I must say from the redo on through I have been very happy with the food. The fillets and garlicky fries are really great and I want to thank the business for listing to my complaint and lowering the salt factor. I must say best chicken and fries north of Sacramento. I was craving chicken wings and did not know where to go in Redding. Where does one go? I went here and was pretty dissapointed. I got a family meal with like 60 wings. They gave them to me in aluminum trays and the wings got soggy. The buffalo sauce was good. The wings were breaded and then fried. I like non breaded wings better so that could be a preference thing. The chicken tenders fared better so I would recommend those instead. I got a whole bunch of veggies. It was just carrots and celery. Nothing special but I like the freshness of the veggies. Anyway, my search for good wings continues but on the upside there were good tenders. Also they have pretty clever answers to why did the chicken cross the road from different points of view.

All my co-workers kept suggesting this place to me, and finally one day my husband and I went. The food was delicious! Love the chicken tenders! Outside of the food there are a couple issue that make me not want to go there often. During my first visit the cashier turns the computer screen around without saying anything, probably under the assumption I had been there before, to find out that i had to prepay the tip. I was confused because the place was not big enough and I wanted to know what the tip was for. Plus the tips were set amounts… But yes, they do bring your plate out to your table, but you are on your own after that. This place is in desperate need of remodeling, It often makes me just drive by… but the tenders bring me back.

The best thing about The Chicken Shack is the plethora of spicy sauces available. While the chicken isn’t bad, it doesn’t distinguish itself from chicken offered at other fast food joints like Jack-in-the-Box… and a chicken sandwich would certainly be much cheaper there than at The Chicken Shack where it’s well over $ 7. The chicken sandwich is 2 fingers of chicken on a plain old hamburger bun with a slice of tomato, red onion, and a piece of lettuce(you choose the sauce) as well as a side of shoe-string fries and a fountain drink. So yeah, I’d say it’s overpriced, along with any of the other combo meals you can get here(variations of chicken and fries). Others have mentioned that some of the sauces have a weird chemical taste or that they taste like they came out of some bottle. After trying a handful of sauce selections, I’d say that this is true. The one sauce that didn’t disappoint however was the chili-lime(though the Jamaican Jerk and Cajun weren’t bad either). In fact, if I ever find myself at The Chicken Shack again, the chili-lime sauce, my fave, is the only sauce I’ll be getting.

I absolutely love The Chicken Shack. They are way better than any other fast food chicken joints in the Redding area. Shoestring fries! They seasoning they use is delicious. Everytime I am here I hear other tables talking about how good the fries are! They also have a pretty decent beer selection– on tap and ciders in bottles. Their chicken tenders are so yummy! They are very juicy and moist. The breading in my opinion. Not too much where all you are eating is batter, but not too thin either. You get lots of good chicken. Everything is made fresh to order, which I really love, especially compared to most places that just have chicken under heat lamps all day. Everyone that works here has always been kind and courteous. They even bring your food to your table. Also, don’t forget to grab a punch card with them!
