Matt and his team did a great job helping us get the financing we needed for our home. I appreciated Matt meeting me when I met with the title company to close the deal in a timely manner.

I had absolutely no idea of what to expect when I went to meet with Blair for the first time. Blair was very friendly and explained the whole process to me and got me prequalified. I am very happy to say that I was able to get my first home and the process was so smooth. I had heard horror stories about people buying their houses and I was prepared for that when I walked in. It was nothing of the sort. When I first set up the appointment I was told what documents I needed to bring. I did and Blair got me prequalified and I left pleasantly surprised, and things only got better from there.
Blair was so totally amazing helping me through this process. I came in with no real idea of what this process would entail but Blair explained everything to me, two or three times if I wasn’t quite understanding and never got impatient or annoyed. He was extremely knowledgeable but maybe even more important he was my cheerleader through this whole process when I got overwhelmed. He was always available, even when I left him messages at 10 o’clock at night because of my weird work schedule. I never felt like I was alone in this process and I felt like could go to Blair with any questions of concerns. I was never just another customer, I truly feel Blair cares and is looking out for you.
Not only did Blair keep me in the loop, but Megastar has a ten step process for buying a house, and every time there is a change or you move forward in the process you get a email alert. The email explains the step you are in, complete with links for more information, as well as the next steps and a count down clock until your closing date. Between the two of them I always felt like I knew exactly what was going on. In a month and a half I went from thinking I wouldn’t be able to get a house for years to being signing the final paperwork.

Chastity Milenewicz helped me in refinancing my house. She was knowledgable and guided me through the process every step of the way. She got me everything that I wanted in my refinance. Chastity was easily reached when I had questions and prompt with her return calls if I had missed her. Anyone who has bought a house or refinanced knows that it’s reassuring knowing you can get in contact with the person helping you take such a huge step! Not only was she professional and geared toward getting me what I wanted in a loan, she was personable and fun! I highly recommend Chastity Milenewicz.

Dori Warren helped my Wife and I close on our first home this past week. She was there for US from the beginning (Getting credit in order, contacting banks, realtors etc.) I understand that is her job, but what she did was work for us, not just with us. She stayed in constant communication with frequent updates and whenever issues arose (there were plenty) she notified us quickly and immediately fought for us to make sure we got the home we wanted. The process was so simple, that it unfortunately left me nothing better to do than sit around twiddling my thumbs waiting for a phone call, which at times led to some stress. When those worries popped up, Ms. Warren was there to talk us down. I’ll recommend Ms. Warren to all of my family and friends, and recommend that if you are in the market, reach out to her and see what fight she can knock out for you.

Now that I have gone through the entire process, bought my home, and seen what it takes and how exciting and positive the experience can be. I feel I should share my experience with Megastar. I attempted on two occasions to use Megastar (I have several friends who purchased homes through Megastar, one of them had a positive experience, guess I should have asked the others before wasting my time). Don’t let the nice office building and fancifully decorated interior fool you, it was the worst service I’ve ever received. Pete passed me off to an employee who didn’t know what he was doing, never had any answers and could never get any clear answers if given the time. I don’t think it was the employees fault, he seemed to have been thrown to the wolves by a management team who could have cared less about both their employee and the customers they assigned him to (I actually felt bad for the guy), after my last round of unanswered questions I never heard from Megastar again, they never contacted me, apparently they didn’t need my business. I get the impression that if you’re not looking for an expensive house you get passed down the ladder. I have excellent credit but wasn’t looking for a big expensive house, just something big enough for my son and myself. My best friend went to Megastar a few days before me, he ended up buying his house through them. Pete was very unprofessional and made my friend and his wife uncomfortable, then toward the end of the process when it was time to close, Pete was downright rude to him. Nasty attitude, acted like my friend was inconveniencing him… My buddy says if he ever decides to buy another house, it won’t be through Megastar. And on top of it, they’re not even competitively priced. You can do better than Megastar, you can’t do much worse…

Pete and his crew work very hard to get the Best loans possible for their buyers. Give them a try.

We used Pete Metz at mega star to purchase our first home. On our first appointment I asked him straight up are there origination fees and he assured me multiple times there would not be. Over the next 30 days Pete would have his production partner (Bryan) do his work for him and when I would call to ask important questions he would refer me to his production partner (Bryan) who was not a licensed loan officer. That means he should not be talking about rates or fees, because he’s not licensed or knowledgable to do so. When I would request to speak with Pete (because he was our loan officer and originated our application) he would call me only to make me feel like he was too busy for my simple first time buyer questions and was an annoyance to his busy life. At the end of the process 30 days later… BOOM! What do you know… we are being charged $ 3,000 in origination fees after we were told over and over there was zero origination fees. Petes explanation was «you were always being charged this fee I just had it worded differently on the disclosure I gave you on our first appointment.) I lost complete faith in him and was very pissed off to say the least, but we wanted the house and had already vested 30 days of our time and energy gathering this and that and closing credit card accounts etc. We decided to just bite the bullet and move forward. So when we go to first American title to close our loan some random guy, we had never met is there for the closing not our loan officer Pete. So I had Joe Blow who knew nothing about us or our loan to answer our questions. Megastar had both my wife and my names spelled incorrectly on the final loan docs and we had to wait 30 minutes for megastar to correct and resend them. Pete didn’t even have the courage to show up at our closing, probably because he knew he screwed us and didn’t want to get chewed out. If you are going to originate a loan with someone be a professional and do your job as a loan officer to answer your clients questions and go to your own closing. Don’t send some Rico Suave want-​to-​be who can’t answer the questions we asked, because he knew nothing about our loan or situation to the closing. We will never use mega star again and will steer friends and family to other lenders in the future. The only positive I have is the loan closed in 30 days, the servicing department is great and Bryan his production partner was pretty good to work with. Even though he wasn’t our loan officer it seemed like he did Petes job for him pretty well.

Quick concise full service friendly office staff. From the warm welcoming greeting with a smile & a offer of a cup of coffee or water to the full and complete consult of our loan process. You just don’t see service of this quality these days. It was truly refreshing to sit with someone like Pete Metz who was this knowledgeable of the process and understanding of our needs for a complex purchase.

Pete, Dori and Brian were all amazing. They all worked very hard on making my dream home a reality. I am so thankful for everyone at Megastar!!!

I cannot believe I haven’t Unilocaled about Megastar or MegaSuck as we began to refer to it by in our household. I’d love to say in our home, but Pete Metz managed to completely strip us of that dream for a long time. We went to him to find out IF we were ready financially to purchase as I had received some money when my dad passed and I wanted to make sure I used it to buy a house. We were assured we were ready and that Pete was the guy for the job. We were assured of these things all the way through the 30 day escrow that turned into a 55 day escrow only to be told that he just can’t get it to go. AFTER I spent all the money we had listening to his advice of pay this and that off. After CLOSING both my credit cards because he said I HAD to because they had so much credit available that it would look bad to the lender (USDA). After one of the few times Pete called me directly after seeing a unhappy post about Megastar on my own fb page where I tagged them so he could tell me that he didn’t appreciate what I had to say and it didn’t make him want to continue working for me as it would cause him to lose business. After us asking him over and over if everything was alright and being told that it was and we would be in our new home shortly. Well it wasn’t alright and we lost that home, spent all the money we had, and destroyed my credit closing my credit cards. Instead of being in our new home when our new son was born, we were stuck trying to find a bigger home to rent and moving when I was seven months pregnant knowing we wouldn’t be able to buy until enough time passed that we are able to correct all the damage done by trying to use Megastar and Pete Metz. Btw… the other review on here is from Tyler… who works for Megastar.

Friendly office staff. Great at helping first time homebuyers to large purchases. I have seen them help people with credit and strategies to get them into their 1^st home! Pete Metz is an all-​around good guy you can trust!
