They had really good hummus. I would definitely return. They have outdoor seating and the price was awesome for what you got in return. The meat was delicious. If you are in the area and looking for a bite to eat definitely try this place. I thought it was going to come out tasting microwaved but it tasted fresh and delicious.

You must get the lamb gyro! I don’t normally like lamb but they really know how to cook it here. It’s so tender. They also make a great Greek salad.

Great place to eat in Redding. Ordered the chicken gyro combo($ 12.90) and it was very fresh and large portions. The pita was huge and had plenty of meat. I would recommend this to all my fellow Unilocalers. Combo came with salad, hummus and warm pita bread.

OMG soo good! Found this place while driving up to Ashland on I-5. We got 1 chicken, 1 lamb and 1 falaffel gyro. My favorite was the lamb and my second fave was the falaffel(freshly made)! Staff was super nice and food came pretty fast in my opinion. The shaded seating area was much appreciated in the summer heat!

First bit of advice(doesn’t factor into the review): Keep an eye on your car! For those of you who are driving through Redding, this area of town is pretty sketchy. The shack is a little blue structure in front of a liquor store. There are lots of homeless and young punk kids that frequent the area. Trust me, I drive by this intersection at least twice a day when I visit and regularly see them hanging around. Don’t believe me? The time I went there, the very nice young lady who took my order said she had just given a homeless man a cup of water that he asked for. It is hot in the summer and I thought that was a nice thing to do. BUTTHEN, the man grabbed her tip jar and ran away. When she ran out to try and get it back, he just kept on running. She lost over $ 20 in tips. Want more evidence? My buddy and I were driving to the Thai Hut, which is right across the street, and there was a shirtless guy in his 20’s punching and kicking the hell out of a street signal, clearly vandalizing it in broad daylight. So I highly recommend keeping an eye on your car and your purse/wallet. Get your food and get out. Between the vandals and homeless, you need to be careful. Onto the review: Food: I’ve eaten LOTS of greek food so I was happy to see a greek place here in Redding. All the Unilocal reviews were positive too so I figured I’d brave the bad location to eat here. Unfortunately, I found the food to be just Meh. The salad dressing and hummus were drenched with olive oil, way more than usual. The falafel was dry, small and flavorless. The veggies inside were also just covered in oil. It’s like they were using the oil to make up for the lack of spices. Perhaps the meat dishes are better, however if you’re a lover of vegetarian cuisine, you will be disappointed. Service: Excellent, especially considering the poor young lady had recently had her tip jar stolen by a homeless man. She was polite, friendly and professional, truly a bright spot of my visit to this place. Redding is an awesome place to eat, but I don’t recommend eating here.

Stopped over in Redding as we made our way to Portland. My wife found this place on Unilocal when we were searching for dinner options. Got there about 6pm-ish, and were the only ones there besides a guy waiting for his to-go order; always a concerning site when you’re trying a new place. Overall, a great little joint for some Greek food. Here’s the rundown: Wife-Gyro plate(ordered Lamb but she got chicken…) with humus and Greek salad(got toubouli instead). Well seasoned gyro(my first time with chicken). Loved how it was shaved chicken not just pieces of chicken shoved into a pita. Humus was okay. Myself – Falafel sandwich. Delicious sandwich. My favorite vegetarian sandwich. And a Greek Salad side. The salad was refreshing and made to order. They were out of Turkish coffee but was offered iced tea? Jr – Chicken Gyro. He enjoyed it. Will stop off again our next time in Redding.

Splendid Greek food stand with outdoor seating. Huge portions and fair prices. Great service overall, from what looks to be a family operation. Every time I pass through Redding I can’t help but stop by. Kudos!

Found out about Greek Shack on Unilocal and I decided we should try it on our road trip and we were in Redding anyways. It’s a small shack with a few tables & chairs in the front, some tables/chairs in the back too. Order at the front window, pay, and guy brought our food out to us. Lamb Gyro combo $ 12 — gyro, hummus, and salad. It’s a HUGE amount of food. If you can share then get the combo, otherwise just get the Lamb Gyro by itself! Lamb meat was really good, some slices of tomatoes, some sauce, lettuce, and pita. Hummus is a good blob amount, salad was a good greek salad w/feta cheese, some tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, olives. dolmas $ 5 — serve cold, grape leaves and stuffed with rice. Tasted ok. Chicken gyro $ 8 — meat tasted off to me, I didn’t like it. Skip it and get the Lamb Gyro! Turkish coffee — B. liked it, dark and strong, not bitter. You can charge it.

I am here in Redding for business and was looking for dinner after a long day’s drive. I read a few of the reviews here on Unilocal and was craving some good greek food. The first thing that stood out about this place was the size, it literally is a small shack. I ordered the combo dinner which was a gyro+hummus+tabbouleh. Compared to the greek restaurants back home, the gyro was HUGE! It also had a generous amount of the tzatziki sauce, and large fresh tomatoes. So overall the gyro was a hit for me. Both the tabbouleh and hummus were good as well. Overall, for going about 30 minutes before closing, I was served with a nice smile and great attitude so that alone got this place 4 stars. The added bonus of good food for a reasonable price made this review a perfect 5!
