Needed tutorial on both IPad and HP. Had a page full of questions that had even bugging me for months. In less than an hour, I had all the answers I needed. Very Good.

I have been using Friendly Computing for many years. It was a very good place for a long time. I have both had computers repaired there, and have bought computers there. However, I feel the service and expertise is going downhill… fast. I took my wife’s laptop in recently to be «Cleaned up», and reinstall windows on it. It was supposed to be like«Store new» when I got it back. When I got home it crashed within the first day. The problem continued, and I took it back in a couple of days. When I took it in they told me the charge«would start at $ 45 just to look at it»! I told them that it had just been worked on there. They didn’t care one bit. And they knew I was very upset, yet made no effort to make things right with their work. My recommendation is to NOT use this store.

My experience with the Apple technician at this store was, to say the least, terrible. He was rude, overbearing, and worst of all, incompetent. On a comparative basis you would be better off driving to either the Apple Store in Sacramento or Roseville as this contract technician by the name of Tom should be avoided at all costs as he makes your problem worse, certainly not better. Just had Kyle over from Friendly Computing in Redding to get my internet connection back. Nicest guy ever(my dogs loved him too) and I was back online within less than 30 minutes. I called at about 3:30 pm and he was here at 4PM. Hey, it doesn’t break the bank to have them over. Highly to recommend with all your computer needs. Bring in your machine or call for a in-home visit!

I stopped in because my windows 8 laptop was acting weird, making the font so big it was unreadable. The staff was patient and helpful in getting my computer to work again, although my chrome is causing problems he didn’t charge me for digonstic, in the future if I have computer problems, I’ll make sure I stop in. And when I’m ready to purchase a new laptop I know where to go. Sincerely, Jenniffer.

DONOTGOTHEREIFYOUHAVEANAPPLEPRODUCT! They charged me $ 40 and the tech would not come out to talk to me and tell me why. I don’t think they did anything. The guy at the front desk kept going back and talking to the Apple tech, Bob. The front desk guy told me they subcontract the Apple Tech and it took him 30 minutes. They did not replace the battery. What did they do. No one would exactly tell me.

Friendly Computing recently cleaned up my laptop. They were very helpful in diagnosing the problems and even checked my hard drive to find out if it was capable to download my programs. No charge for that service. When I returned home, I called for additionally advice on other security programs and passwords. They were very cordial and provided the information I needed to use my computer again. I would recommend them for computer services.

Had Frank(technician) install a new power supply and run the cabling. He also installed a new Samsung 500EVO solid state drive and reconfigured the existing 1TB drive to run only when selected. Computer is now quite fast and lot more reliable. He did a great job and it was a «friendly» experience. I would recommend him to anyone that needs work performed on their computer.

I had been looking all over Redding and online for a Windows 7 operating system disk and key and was pleasantly surprised that this little shop not only had what I was looking for, but was cheaper than eBay. I called ahead with many questions and came into the store shortly after where I was welcomed immediately. I still had many questions, all of which were answered in a very professional manor, yet simple enough for me to understand completely. I was given much advice on my computer and installation steps. I would defiantly recommend this place to a friend for their computer needs. And their custom computers that were on display have great specs for a good price.

After 10 days of using my I Pad being annoyed by a crack in the glass, I took it to have cracked glass replaced. First clue should have been when the young man had me purchase the replacement glass on amazon, 2nd clue should have been when the replacement part was allegedly defective. After 2 weeks I’m told the unit needed a new main board, that it was probably damaged when the screen was cracked(despite the fact it was a simple crack and not an impact shatter, and it worked for 10 days with the crack prior to being brought in for repair). Nice people BUT, should have researched capabilities of the company before entrusting them with my device. Device rendered totally inoperative, but was offered a discount on future repair services.

Update: After reviewing our dispute Wells Fargo gave me my money back. Found Friendly Computing at fault! I can’t express how unreasonable this company is!

If you’re like me — any time that your computer isn’t functioning in a way that you want it to, you’re frustrated. I cannot be without my laptop for any length of time — so, I chose Friendly Computing to come to my rescue. They really stepped up to the task. My laptop was repaired and back to me within days at a very reasonable cost. Thank you, Friendly Computing.

First, I must start off by offering up a prayer of humility and burnt offerings to the Great Computer God. Okay, done. Now, for people at my level of computer savvy — we should treat computers like toasters — when they don’t work, we should just toss them and get a new one. Sigh. ‘Repairing’ and ‘Computer’ just don’t go well together, you know? Unfortunately, I can’t even afford a new phone. If it wasn’t for the fact that I hate typing technical documents into a phone… Well, one of my relatives gave me an older laptop that they were getting rid of for a new one(red flag warning!), so I snatched it up for my college-aged daughter. Of COURSE, it had problems; wifi card wasn’t working, ‘new’ power pack wasn’t charging. I know that these problems were ignorable, but I thought it would be worth it to have a computer shop bench it, just to see if there were any obvious glitches that could be fixed inexpensively. You know, stuff like ‘the battery was inserted backwards’. Technical stuff that’s just out of my reach. They did exactly what I asked them to, and even spent extra time working on it. But what I found out was that I actually was able to figure out as much as they could, once I got it back and actually sat down with it and worked on it myself. Now, don’t get me wrong — they gave me my money’s worth. Money spent on ‘computer time’ is sort of ephemeral and intangible, but it seems to be a necessary evil of our society these days. And I asked for it, right? What I did notice about the shop is that each time I went in, there were customers getting help learning to use their computers, or getting help with understanding how to download emails, etc. They do charge for this type of help, but it looks like they’re fairly generous with their time. They have a half-dozen guys in the back, amongst the stacks of monitors, etc., so help is pretty prompt. I guess what I want to say about Friendly is that it was a decent experience. It helps if you know exactly what you want, and know how to ask for it, and know when to fold out(know when to walk away, know when to run). I would use them again. It’s probably a good place to get a used computer at a decent price. Hmmm… probably for less than it would cost to get a new phone.

FRIENDLYCOMPUTING — The name says it all. These guys live up to the name. We were so impressed as soon as we walked through the door. The awesome customer service was a breath of fresh air compared to the big box stores. These guys are so helpful and extremely honest. Dave helped us from the start. We were looking for a refurbished laptop to suit our business needs. Dave took us in the back to meet up with one of their technicians Dwight. Dwight met our needs in the most spectacular way. He was extremely knowledgeable, very professional, courteous and the customer service was outstanding. He made us feel so welcome and you could tell that he really loved what he was doing and loved sharing that with us. Dwight is as genuine as genuine comes. He really cares about the clients needs. We now consider Dwight our own personal computer technician. We were so impressed that we want 3 more laptops from Friendly Computing. There prices are great and you cannot get better customer service anywhere! Thank you Dwight for putting together an awesome laptop for us with all the bells and whistles at a great price!

They were great when I had my wallet opened for a used laptop for my daughter’s birthday present. 1 ½ months later we found out the USB ports didn’t operate(3 days prior to a 1 month trip to Italy), they blamed drivers, even though I checked my card reader and digital camera(after 2 ½ hours of trying to fix the problem myself) on 4 other home computers(2 macs-2 pc’s) and the peripherals were recognized immediately. Said they couldn’t get to it for 3 days(2 days too late), now my daughter has a useless laptop for storage of photos and video, thanks«Friendly Guys», I’ll remember this day. If «Friendly Computers» gives it a try to fix their driver/bios issues prior to vacation I will update with a 4 or 5 star. Friendly actually called my wife back and said that they would squeeze her in on a busy backed op Friday, I think they are a great place to go for Computer needs.

The staff is friendly, but(at least a couple of them) are willing to rip off people who are not computer savvy.

Knowledgeable, price conscious and friendly. Staff was willing to take the time to talk to me and I had questions about my MAC, although they specialize in PC’s as well. Price quote for service is approx. $ 30 per hr. Great price!
