My wife and I are so glad that we decided to use Energy Docs as our contractor. During the summer our AC was constantly running and struggled to keep the inside below 80 degrees. Our ducting was also beginning to tear and break apart, so we kept finding pieces of ducting in our air registers. We called several contractors and eventually decided to have Energy Docs come see our home. Mike and his crew came and did some tests to see how our home was actually performing. After the test, he gave us a report that gave incredibly detailed information. We saw how much airflow we were losing from the house itself, how much airflow we were losing through our ducting, we even saw thermal imaging of where heat was entering our house through the walls and recessed lighting. He gave us estimates as to how much the project would cost, and how much we could expect to save. We were able to use the REU Home Performance Program which returned roughly half the project cost in rebates! During the project, the entire Energy Docs crew was nothing less than excellent. They started our project in early August, and spent the next two weeks baking in our attic. They would work until it was too hot to handle the materials anymore. With these conditions, they were still friendly and happy to answer any questions we had. They finished the project on time, and even slightly under budget. When they were done, they cleaned up after themselves and even did some repair work that made the house look even better. Two weeks after the project has been finished, it is a night and day difference in our home. There are no more temperature differences in the various rooms. Our house sits at a comfortable 75 degrees. My wife and I have been so relieved that the project went according to play and there were no horror stories. If you need any work done to your home, go see Mike and his crew. We will always recommend them, and will return should we need anymore improvements. Great job Energy Docs crew!

When you have been burned in the past by the empty promises of an HVAC company, it is hard to find the words of appreciation for a company that actually has your best interests in mind. Less than three years ago, my family made the decision to upgrade our whole HVAC system(heat pump, air handler, and ducting), due to the fact that our power bills were astronomically high. We selected an HVAC company based on their promises of integrity and to deliver us a more efficient and comfortable home that would actually save us enough each month to pay for us to finance the whole project. Well, as time passed following the completion of our new HVAC system, we still had an uncomfortable home that actually was less efficient than the nearly 30 year old system we had replaced and we now had a loan payment to boot. After many attempts to have our new system fixed, we gave up on the company that installed our new system and went in search of another company to help solve our seemingly insurmountable problem. After many calls around town, we found a company based in Redding call Energy Docs. Our interest was peaked immediately when they refused to give us any promised savings without first coming out to our home and determining through scientific means what needed to be done to alleviate our discomfort and high electric bills. It was such a breath of fresh air to not be sold a bill of goods, but rather presented a «home performance assessment» that gave us facts instead of opinions. We were given a priority list of upgrades that we could make to our home based solely on return on investment. Not once, did Energy Docs try to sell us something, rather gave us information and allowed us to make decisions based on empirical evidence. We ended up having Energy Docs do our home performance upgrades at the beginning of the summer and we couldn’t be happier. We have already weathered the harsh Redding summer with our new system and we are amazed at the difference between what we received the second time around as compared to what seems to be the«used car salesman» standard of the HVAC industry. I was completely sold when I received my August 2013 bill and it was $ 207 and the same billing period for the year prior was $ 653 and the kicker was that we were able to cool our house to a comfortable temperature and keep it there. The other amazing thing is that in our two story 2200 sq. ft. home, there is now no more than a one degree variance from one point in the house to another, whereas before, there was nearly 10 degrees difference between downstairs and upstairs. Lastly, besides the aforementioned benefits from using Energy Docs and their scientific model to save you money, is the fact that the owner and his employees are genuinely good people. They showed up on time everyday, were efficient, clean, hard working people that were a joy to be around.
