The willows dinner has been slow. 42 min after take order. It was the kitchen training.

I love this place, I always get an omelette in the morning with garlic, Cilantro, onion, spinach, mushroom, and Swiss cheese! It is excellent every single time however my only critique would be that the potatoes are often burnt and rather flavorless but I do enjoy drenching my whole plate and the crazy cause hot sauce. I’m really glad that this place is going nationwide although I am a bit concerned about the quality being diminished. I wish the best to this business and I will continue to be a customer as long as the food is great!

It’s decent for breakfast, ok for lunch, not so good for dinner. Service is always good.

Had lunch here. Nothing really special. Had a turkey sandwich(The Gobbler). It was ok. The fries were limp. Even if they hadn’t been, still would get 3 stars. The service was good. Would I come here again? If I was stuck in Redding again, I suppose so…

It met my 3 star expectations. My work group drove all the way up to Redding for a learning off site and we went to Black Bear Diner due to its proximity to us. Keeping this review short: I ordered a BLAT, a bacon, lettuce, avocado, and tomato sandwich. The bread was overly toasted and stale, bacon was tough and overcooked. Fries were not fresh, hence I didn’t eat even half. Still edible, but that’s probably because I had such a crappy breakfast that morning. 3rd star for cheerful and helpful waitress.

asked for toasted bread instead of biscuit with gravy. bread was not toasted. asked to reheat chicken apple sausage and waitress returned with same sausage not heated. waitress brought me dry toast, gravy on the side. The cooks may be busy but do a bad job here.

This is the only place I ever want pancakes and bacon from, oh my it is amazing… Their hot cakes are fluffy and have a sweetness to them that can only be found at Black Bear Diner. The bacon is the best bacon ever! It made me look at bacon in a whole new way, and any other pig I eat will pale in comparison. We showed up on a Sunday at 9:30am and it was packed, However because we were a two top we got right in! It took a half an hour to get our food, but again that all melts away like that butter did on my short stack once We dig into those flap jacks. Our sever was fast and friendly and what I really liked was she was a good table reader, we had our payment on the table before we even received our breakfast and she went above and beyond by not only asking if we wanted to pay but took it up to the register to complete the transaction! My wife and I only wanna dine at Black Bear!

Super awesome service! WOW! Totally did nt gt the menu @ 1st… it’s a friggen newspaper… genius! IKR! Rofl thr are lk mad items to choose from and crazy awesome mega portions that will feed half the homeless in Redding! It’s ridiculous. The biscuit alone is the sz of a grown man’s hand! Thr ws NOWAY Jose I ws gtng that far into my meal! I ordered the egg white and apple chicken sausage scramble w fruit. It ws lk the sz of regular sz dinner plates! Insane. Altho it ws super yum the portion sz ws crazy HUGE! The diner itself sports a «cabin like» lodge theme and the majority of the diners were more on the mature side of life and obviously nt overly concerned w maintaining Jessica Rabbits figure. All in all — grt experience and I’d totally recommend digging in!

No issues here. The sausage and eggs were done just the way I like them, they kept my coffee cup full and checked on me just enough to make sure I had what I needed. Opted for the homeade biscuit. Holy crap that is a big biscuit. The service time was good. Nice atmosphere. Come with an appetite. The portions are generous. In general: This is a popular chain restaurant that has a good business plan in place and uses the same formula at all locations and it works because there is a consistency to how they do things. That is why this is a popular choice for many. Good job. Thank you!

My wife and I come in for dinner every so often. The service has always been very good. The quality of food is very good, for the chili size. Hard to find a good chili size. The portions are light for the price.

This place has good food and great customer service! I thought that the cornbread you get was fresh because it was warm, but then I saw them microwave them– which isn’t bad, but just in case you were wondering, that is why they are warm! I have loved everything I have gotten here except the meatloaf. It had carrots and celery in it, which I did not like. It seemed like it had too many vegetables. I thought they would be chopped up in small pieces so it blended well with the meat, but they weren’t. The prices are also a little steep for the portion sizes.

Allison was great! We were really craving items that were not on the menu, and Allison figured out a way to make it happen perfectly! Super friendly, fast service, and appreciative management!

I don’t know what it is about Black Bear Diner but I love it. I have been to no joke, six of their locations in two different states. I like the large menu with healthy options thrown in. The food is your typical diner– breakfast/lunch/dinner food. I had the Acupulco Scramble and it was good but I was still hungry afterwards. That is my fault for going off the healthy options and I am a runner who eats ALLTHETIME. The flavors are not mind-blowing, but the food hits the spot when you are on a road trip and are exhausted and starving. The service is good, and the bathrooms are always clean! The cute bears they sell are fun too.

So, when it comes to diner food this is the spot. It’s not quite a traditional diner, it’s got a northern Cali country twist. Food is bomb when it comes to the scale, serving size is pretty much huge and the service is super fast. Crazy cheep, deff a good spot for after church, early morning b-fast, or damn I’m hella hungry and on a budget super low key.

Food fantastic. We both had«a little less» Pot Roast. It’s plenty believe me. My only complaint about these places. It’s cold in here! Most people have their coats on eating. Turn the damn heat up! It’s winter! In Federal Way, WA it was the same last week!

I discovered the Black Bear Diner in my home town of Federal Way Washington. I stopped in to check it out with my family for breakfast and we’ve been back many times ever since. I think it was around our second or third visit that I noticed that the menu has a list of all of the Black Bear locations and as it turns out, there are a ton of them all up and down the west coast. I am especially pleased to find out that my family and I can enjoy our breakfasts at Black Bear while on our usual Disneyland vacations. Yay! I’ve eaten at Black Bear for breakfast, lunch and dinner and had many of the menu items and so have my family and everything that we’ve ever ordered has been delicious. The fried chicken, the burgers, the club sandwich, the pancakes, the chicken fried steak and eggs, you name it, we’ve loved it. The only thing that we haven’t been a fan of is their enormous dinner roll. It looks cool but when we got ours, they were hard and dry. Not appetizing. We always opt for the cornbread muffins instead because those are dangerously good. This weekend, I had a parcel that I had to deliver on Monday in LA so I hit the road and brought my daughter with me. We ended up in Redding by the morning and my daughter said that she wanted to eat at a real restaurant. No fast food. I took the next exit and low and behold, a Black Bear diner! Of course it was my first choice and I told her how good the one back home is. We were not disappointed. This Black Bear has the same friendly staff, the same quality dishes and the same atmosphere of the one in Federal Way and I’m guessing that no matter which location I visit in the future, the experience will always be a good one. Don’t forget to grab a peach cobbler or a berry pie on your way out. Black Bear diner is as good as it gets in your classic American diner. I’ve yet to find a contender in this arena that can do it as well as they can. See you there! Thanks for reading.

Prime Rib special $ 14.99 with a Clam Chowder starter and killer corn bread. Background music was loud enough to enjoy but not to the point where you are yelling. The staff is quick and hustles(Allison was an outstanding server). No sooner did we finish the starter and our plates were quickly whisked away to make room for the entrée. Prime rib arrived with side of perfect veggies cooked with a little crunch but not soggy. Mashed potatoes were slightly chunky with semi thick tasty gravy but not watery. Horse radish and a cup of prime rib juice for dipping. WHEW! What a meal, time for a nap |^o~Zzzzzz

I knew it wouldn’t be long until I found another positively delicious dish here again, and until recently I hadn’t any idea where in Redding I could find a good southern dish. Yep, BBD is the first and only place I’ve encountered that serves up some great chicken and waffles(accompanied with a side of green beans) — a dish they added to their menu recently. The chicken was encased in crispy batter while the waffle was soft, buttery, and sweet — a great combination of sweet and savory flavor! Hopefully, they’ll keep going with this theme and offer up candied yams or collard greens and, for dessert, sweet potato pie for the ultimate experience!

Stopped in for dinner on our way back home to Sunnyvale from Oregon. Very nice inside and friendly staff. Very clean inside and music playing not to loud. Got our order in and a short wait for our meal. Hot and very good. A great please to eat.
