Marty’s BBQ #2 on Wheels plates come with your choice of two sides. For the Large BBQ Plate, Jerry and I went with Baked Beans and Onions Rings so sweet, crunchy, and amazing that we didn’t even use ketchup. Hands down, the onion rings were my favorite side of the items we sampled(and this was after a twenty minute trip from the food truck back to our house). The chopped BBQ was tender but not lean enough for our preferences. The vinegar based dip had some pepper flakes scattered throughout and accented the pork without overwhelming it. Jerry and I were sharing everything. He cut the chop in half from the Pork Chop Plate. We took one bite, looked at the each other, and said, «We should have gotten the 2 piece Pork Chop Plate!» Not exactly hidden, but listed innocuously in the middle of the plate and sandwich sections, you’ll find the 1Pc and 2Pc Pork Chop Plate as well as a Pork Chop Sandwich option. Lightly dusted with seasoned flour and fried, the pork chop was golden and crusted on the outside and impeccably tender and juicy in the middle. We got a little carried away and ate it with our bare hands. There was no foolin’ around with a knife and fork. Our two sides were French Fries and freshly made Cole Slaw flecked with color from carrots and red cabbage. Marty packed our Chicken Sub to the point of overflowing with scrumptious chucks of charred white-meat chicken, grilled peppers, sautéed onions, mushroom, and mayo. The sesame seed roll literally would not hold any more. For an additional $ 2, you can make it a combo with Fries and a Drink. As we unwrapped the Double Cheeseburger, I think our eyes widen to twice their normal size. Trust me when I say I had no idea the burger would be this big. I don’t want to dampen Marty’s Double Cheeseburger sales, but a single would have been plenty if you’re using it as a chaser to the Large BBQ Plate, Pork Chop Plate, and Chicken Sub. The double burger was hand-pattied, and Marty must have huge man-hands. Covered in cheese, slaw, homemade chili, mustard, and onion, those juicy bad boys were a towering food lover’s dream to behold. Or… Have your burger your way with lettuce, tomato and onion if that’s more your style. For our full Food and Brew Review«The Pork Chop Express», visit .
