Brisket quesadilla, pulled pork sandwich, smoked meatloaf sandwich, chips & queso were the items our group ordered. Nothing short of fantastic! The smoked meatloaf sandwich was AWESOME! The first day our friends came they were out of queso but today they had it. Flour tortilla chips and queso = happy girl! If you’re in Red River, eat here! Forgot to mention, Blue Moon on tap. Yum!

Within walking distance of the ski area. Looks like a bar/restaurant. Good food. We had the brisket sandwiches. Good waitress. Not pretentious at all.

Would probably be great during ski season as you have a great view of the main ski area. Hubby said«this is the best food we have had up here ever!» Will definitely be back! Friendly & prompt service. Good tv’s for games(1 big screen &2 smaller screens at the bar) good classic rock music on our visit. Pulled pork nachos were outstanding!!! Delicious salsa as well!

For starters, they were out of what both my husband and I originally ordered but it took the waiter nearly 5 – 10 min to come tell us that. Waiter not very attentive even though the diner was practically empty. The bar-b-que sauce wasn’t my style and my second choice… the sausage… wasn’t all that great. Overall experience wasn’t what I has hoped it would be.

Place was nearly empty and still slow service. Ordered sliced brisket sandwich and wife ordered chopped brisket. After about 5 min. waiter returns to tell us they are out of brisket and pulled pork. So that leaves ribs and sausage. I got the burger and wife got the sausage. They were average. I won’t be back.

I’m surprised by the negative reviews as well. They have a smoker out front. The BBQ sauce is great. This place was recommended by the information center and we are glad we went based on her recommendation vs Unilocal because I wouldn’t have gone since the rating was so low on Unilocal.Give it a shot if you’re in the area.

I’m giving this place 2 stars ONLY because they had 312 beer on tap and it’s my husband’s favorite. This place would be better off closed. The food was mediocre, the service was sluggish and forgetful, and the kitchen staff looked busy, but nothing was coming out. The waitress was new and she was nice, but she obviously wasn’t well trained. My husband got his beer first because the bartender was the only wait person there old enough to serve it. My child and I had to wait another five minutes for our non-alcoholic drinks. We ordered chips and salsa as an appetizer. They are not made special, just regular store-bought chips. We never got them. When 15 minutes went by after we’d gotten our drinks, we asked our waitress about the chips. She said, «The kitchen staff is super busy.» Really? How long does it take to grab a handful of chips and throw them in a basket along with some salsa? Seriously, that’s just ridiculous. Chips and salsa should come out with the drinks. After waiting another ten minutes, our food finally came out. I ordered the chicken tenders, which come with homemade potato chips. My husband got the beef brisket sandwich. My child got a grilled cheese sandwich. My chicken tenders were not even hot. They were tepid, as if they’d been sitting out for several minutes after being fried. They were actually on the brink of being cold and I nearly sent them back. They were also bland and tasteless. My husband, who has experience working in restaurants, said my tenders were probably frozen and from Cisco. His brisket tasted like it had been made the day before and reheated in the microwave because it was a little mushy. The beans that accompanied his sandwich were way too spicy. The grilled cheese was dull and boring and even my child wasn’t all that interested in it. Our waitress asked us if we wanted anything more after she cleared our table. We asked for a to-go box. We got the box, but we waited an interminable time for the check. It was so long, that our child began to cry from exhaustion and drove off a family waiting to be served. The only redeeming factor in this tired looking, run-down place is the potato chips were just slightly better than average, and even then, they needed a little salt. The restaurant is owned by the same people who own the adjacent Playhouse, which offers roller skating, pool, ping pong, and video games. Seven of the games there(which is about half) were out of order. Do the owners even care? Look, I know Red River is a tourist town and that business is almost a given because of it, but at some point you have to start acting like you give a damn. This place is screaming for a renovation/demolition.

We went in to eat. The place was dirty, and the service was terrible. We got our drinks and the coffee was cold. I don’t mean it wasn’t hot enough for coffee. I mean the coffee was sitting there for a long time w/the burner turned off. They went back and microwaved the coffee rather than make a new pot! The Coke was the color of watered-down iced tea. After that, we decided to not even try the food. We just paid and left.

I am really surprised by the negative reviews here. We loved this place. We visit Red River at least twice a year and discovered this place on our latest trip. My folks tried it first and raved about the barbeque. All of us came back to have lunch and had a variety from the menu. Mom & Dad has the BBQ combo plate, hubby had the pulled pork, and I had the burger. All were really good. Hand cut fries are my fave. We showed up another night to pick up a pizza and they had the UFC fight on so we stayed and hung out for hours, and we had attentive service and the best darn fried pickles — thin and cornmeal crispy. Pizza was huge. The chicken tenders were pre-made and frozen but again those tasty tasty fries. Late in the evening the locals came in for drinks and to watch the fight, so I figure if the locals dig it, it must be good! This place is definitely a return visit when we go back.

I gave it one star because half a star. Isn’t available. We wanted breakfast. they served the entire restaurant breakfast, two other tables. Not us. Okay we tried to order lunch. Nothing was available. If you want our money for mediocre food and bad service have something to serve.

Why does this place have a menu when nothing on the menu is served? No breakfast, no soup. Coffee was stone cold and ice tea was weak water. Waitress was not all that bright, had to ask for cream 3 times. Stay away from this place.

We were the only customers in the place yet had VERY slow, forgetful service. Out of our party of 4, 3 of us were missing the sides and had to request them. It probably did not help that the server was texting behind the bar. My chicken cheese steak was cold on one side and warm on the other and the main comment from every person about their choices was«it was nothing to write home about». However the prices were reasonable, but you get what you pay for — A mediocre lunch and lackluster service.
