Old Crowe Farm

I think my favorite two Old Crowe farm critters are Philip the glossy black barn cat and Maddie the little 14-​year-​old house cat. Jim and Jacqueline will introduce you to them all — goats, hogs, roosters, livestock dogs…
Old Crowe provides an opportunity to learn about and live a little of what organic farming and sustainable living are about.
I’m still waiting for the strawberry jam to be surely set before dipping into it — but we already had a blast with Jacqueline learning hands-​on about canning basics including food safety. I liked fishing the filled jars out of the hot water bath with a jar lifter.
The guest accommodations are elegant, the community real country, hosts Jim and Jacqueline so willing to be of help, including with special dietary restrictions: Yes, although we don’t eat pork we wanted to visit this heritage hog farm and they still made great breakfasts for us.
