Great BBQ, large portions, a bit pricy but worth it. Only two negatives — the corn bread (the first impression presented food wise) was dry and just blah. The ice tea refill notion — great idea but my empty glass remained so way, way too long. They have mid-​week specials, a happy hour and great food (in general) so I’ll be back. Just really hope they figure out how to make better cornbread before I do…

In my opinion this is the best barbecue in the Hudson Valley area. Not that we are a barbecue hotbed here, but there are several restaurants that are pretty good and Max’s beats them all. The plates are very large and reasonably priced. Personally I love the cornbread, collard greens, and cheese grits. Pulled pork and brisket are very good. Wifey’s salad was excellent.
