I’m a pretty ‘frequent camper’. I guess if Camping had a reward program, I would be a Platinum member by now… We typically use tent or sometimes(very rarely) cabins. No RV or camper at this point. We stayed here in the units 15 – 30 area and used a tent site. What I liked about this place: * great view * a few trails around * great lake though water were freezing cold * I don’t do fishing but there seems to be a lot of that going around * clean toilets that are very well maintained * drinking water available and very accessible. You never have to walk too far(or drive). * no store on site, but there’s a store 5 min. drive away. Reasonable prices for most items I needed including wood and ice. * very reasonable fee What I didn’t like that much: * for tent sites, there is no access to site with the car. You have to park and walk to your site and there’s not even enough parking when the campground is full. * no public place for dish washing * no showers * some sites do not have shade at all If you come here at summer, shade is a big factor unless you have some means of providing shade. Some sites do not have shade at all but some have very good shade so make sure you take this into account. Sites right at the lake are gorgeous, but they are farther away from the parking lot. This is a factor because there are bears in this area and you do have to store all your food in the car every night which means carrying your coolers and food boxes all the way up and down every night/morning. The sites are pretty big and all have a picnic table and a large firepit. However, most of them cannot accommodate for more than one large(8 – 10 person) tent. They can fit 24 – 6 person tents(depends on size) or one tent and one screen tent etc. So keep this in mind for ‘multi-family’ camping. Sites however are pretty close to one another so you can always use adjacent sites if you’re camping with another family. So — *for the price* this is one of the best sites I have ever been to. However I don’t mind paying a little more for a place with showers.

I love me the outdoor and everything it has to offer! Pros: Special tent only sites Level and graveled camp sites Large fire pits Views of the lake Trail around the lake for bikes or feet, gorgeous Fishing — if you are into that thing Cons: Toilets — for some reason they were rank by 9am each day. I’ve got a pretty strong stomach and i almost lost it one morning. CHILDREN — apparently being 40 minutes outside of Ft Collins means all the breaders gather, with their kids, bikes, corn hole, toys, etc — and the idea of a quiet camping trip is out the window. Once outside they have no quams speaking loudly. No quiet talk, or the ability to keep one’s voices under control. The map appears to have the«road» right next to the campsite… bring something to wheel your gear. It’s not far to enjoy the view, but was a surprise how far it was from the car! I had to knock off a star due to the caliber of people that stay here. We did a weird stay — sat and sunday night vs the normal fri/sat. Apparently if you book 3 campsites you freel you can let you 2 – 4 childen per family scream incessantly, yell to each other across the whole camp site, ride their bikes thru your site, play corn hole or some traveling bocci ball thing thru the whole camp ground and expect you to be able to enjoy yourself. Heaven forbid you tear yourself away from your game of wizard something or other to determine where your children are, what they are doing or to have then refrain from screaming — gotta love how water is like a loudspeaker to spoken word… oy! Alas — i would probably go back, just for the peacefulness(like sunday when the loud families take off, or when you take the trail around the lake).Or there are RV sites that are not on top of one another — so you can have your car and tent and view and not too much of a generator noise in your ear!
