We joined this CSA primarily for the pick-up location, which is in Woodland-in-Waverly off Craighead St. We paid $ 500 for 7 months of weekly local produce and were definitely pleased with what we received. It was a little tricky when we got veggies we’d never cooked(some we had never eaten) but it pushed us out of our comfort zone and into the local flavor of Nashville. Things were repetitive in the beginning and end of the season– we have LOTS of potatoes, parsley and garlic. :) Overall, we definitely received our money’s worth and are pleased to have done this. I’d recommend joining a CSA to anyone… if not this one, then one that is convenient to you as you’ll need to make a commitment to pick up the food weekly. One of the great things about this CSA is when we needed extras of things to can, Allan and Jeff were more than happy to provide. I have tons of pickles, canned salsa, beets and frozen pumpkin for the coming winter months. Be sure to check out their newly vamped website as well, there’s tons of good info on it.
