I went to Dr. Adams for a simple mole removal. The mole was on my face, so I had a lot of anxiety about having it removed. Dr. Adams’ easy going manner really helped make the experience easy and pain free. The office staff was very friendly and professional. I will definitely return to this office and have recommended it to others.

I’m not usually a poster on this site but felt compelled to respond to the post by Jennifer S. My husband has been going to Dr. Adams for a few years now and I can’t say enough positive things about him. You are right Jennifer, he does give a FULL body search when looking for suspect areas. He is very thorough. Isn’t that what you would want? My husband also has a history of melanoma and had a very bad scare about 7 years ago. Dr. Adams wasn’t his doctor but is aware of his history. He fully examines every inch of skin and removes anything he thinks could be a potential problem. He is mindful of what our insurance will cover and always questions how much they will pay for pathology because he doesn’t want to get us too deep in debt at one time but also wants to be diligent and complete in what needs to be done. I have gone to many of my husband’s appointments with him and find Dr. Adams and his nurse Tommy, friendly, respectful and extremely competent in their chosen profession. They are also both willing to go the extra mile to get procedures and prescriptions approved by our insurance company, which hasn’t always been an easy feat. I am not, however, a big fan of Lassen Medical Clinic. They can be rude and disorganized, but once you get over that hurdle Dr. Adams is worth the trouble. I have recommended him to friends and family, who have also been fully satisfied and happy with him. I’m sorry your experience was so bad but would have to guess that either you or he was having a very bad day because what you have described is not indicative of anything I or my husband have ever experienced with Dr. Adams. As an incidental side note, we are also Bay Area transplants. We’ve been in Cottonwood since 2005 and good doctors are very hard to find. You really missed a golden opportunity to have a stellar dermatologist. Speaking from experience, I would recommend that you avoid Dr. Kraffert’s office when looking for a new doctor. Good luck with your skin and your search for a doctor that works for you.

If I could give this place a negative star I would. I have a history melanoma and moved up here from the Bay Area and was looking to establish myself with a new dermatologist. I saw Dr. Adams for my initial appt. and was hoping to get a referral for a pet/ct scan. The appt with Dr Adams was unnerving to say the least. I told him about my past history and cancer diagnosis and that I was looking to follow up with one more PET/CT scan for piece of mind. He told me I was going to have to remove all my clothes for a full body check and when I say full body I mean he wanted to look EVERYWHERE. I let him now I wasn’t comfortable with that at that time. He then proceeds to tell me he would order me the scan but they don’t always work. A previous patient of his had the same cancer diagnosis as me, was having the scans and end up dying, so I should just get my bucket list ready. I was horrified. I left his office in shock to get some blood work done and was told my results would be ready later that day. After being told by the Doctor there are no guarantees in life I would have thought he would take my case seriously. I waited a week with no call before I called to talk with the doctor about my blood work, he was at lunch but his PA got on the phone at told me everything was fine. I said my blood work came back okay? He didn’t know about my blood work and then tried to play it off like hmm well I can’t tell but this level looks okay, this level looks alittle high. Exasperated I said please have the Dr call me back. Never heard a peep. It gets worse– so during this time his office must have ordered my Pet/ct scan and had it sent to St. Elizabeth’s. Some how my emergency contact persons info was given to St eliz as my contact info and they started leaving cryptic messages on my sisters voicemail. She calls me in a panic thinking my cancer has spread saying omg are you okay the doctors keep calling me about you– NIGHTMARE. I get that straighten out only to be contacted by my insurance company a week later telling me that Dr Adams and the stellar staff at Vita derm have sent my scan order to a office outside of my network and I would have to pay twice as much if I went to the appt. I have never been to a Dr that didn’t take the time to make sure their referral fell inline with your plan. I called multiple times after that to complain about the care I received and to please have my order sent to MD imaging, to no avail. Run from this place, drive away to anywhere but here!

I like the Lime Light for skin! Costly but I liked the results. Very nice Staff! Ok… here I go: Hair removal I am not happy with. I spent twice the money per TRT for hair removal multiple times with dismal results. I went somewhere else: 50% $ less and dramatic immediate results with one TRT. In addition, there was little discomfort with someone else, where numbing cream with Vita did not reduce pain during trt. From what I am told, the other business I went to, there laser was specific for hair removal, and not a multipurpose laser? I do not know for sure exact or making claims, but what I do know trt elsewhere was completely different money, pain and result wise!
