I moved back into Red Bluff after three yearrs, and was pleasantly surprised to see that Dollar General had moved into the old Holiday Market. I usually shop here to avoid the maddening crowds and long lines at Food Maxx. As for the prices… about the same as Food Maxx, except for maybe a couple of items. This is NOT a dollar store… There have been a couple of hiccups though. One day when I went in there, the food coolers had all broken down, so they had all of those areas cordoned off, so any cold or frozen food was unavailable. I bought one of those canned hams… to make sandwiches out of… and when I opened it up, it was totally grey and swimming in congealed yellow grease. In the trash it went along with the 8.00 I spent on it. I also had a loaf of what I thought was fresh bread, mold over a day after I bought it. Cashiers are friendly enough. This store is passable only to avoid large crowds, and they also carry a few hardware and houseware type items.

This store is ALWAYS clean the EMPLOYEES friendly knowledgable AND approachable. They have a variety of everything u need and EXCELLENT prices! easy entrance/exit and available parking. The bathrooms are always locked must ask for a key but i prefer it like this cuz the restrooms are spic n span. U can not«try on» any of the clothing items they sell but the have an excellent and easy return policy. Theur produce is always fresh did i mention how friendly the employees are… thats why i keep going back!
