I enjoyed this place. My friends and I make a trek out to Red Bank every year to see Kevin Smith’s ‘Secret Stash’ shop, and we had some time to kill to grab food and drinks before heading home. I found this place to be reasonably priced, with decent food. It’s a dive bar, but a pretty cool dive bar. You’ll see all sorts of New Jersey related — Springsteen and Bön Jovi, stuff hanging all over the walls. We will definitely be back in the not too distant future.

I love dive bars! This place is a great example of a well established one in red bank. The food is great n the beers are cold!!! $

Dive bars can be fun but not a classless one like Walt Street Pub. The long time bartender/wait staff are moody and oft times nasty to the staff. While expectations of dive bars are generally low, I refuse to spend money in a place where the bartender ignores you for nearly a half hour and then acts as if she’s doing you a favor when waiting on you. I’ve witnessed the same bartender(«barmaid» is way too kind a description of this person), treat others even nastier. As there are exceptions to every situation, there are one or two staff members that know about good customer service. Fortunately, they are in the minority and usually move on to better, classier and respectful places. I avoid this place like the plague.

Stopped in for a late Saturday lunch. Tina, our server, was charming and gave great menu recommendations. The nuggets were good, chips freshly made, and beer selection lovely. Will return.

Great spot for buffalo wings, cold beer and watching sports. No attitudes here, just good times.

I’ve never had a bad time at Walt Street. Stop in on the occasional Saturday for a few drinks. The bartenders are always friendly & helpful and the food is always fresh & tasty. The place attracts an eclectic crowd, providing some entertainment for the people watchers out there. Will be sure to return.

This place has low expectations as it is, being a divey hole-in-the-wall sort of spot. However, being ignored when you sit at a bar is unacceptable. If a bartender makes eye contact with me but doesn’t greet me or at least put down a napkin, that’s just plain rude. To top it all off, my boyfriend and I ordered two appetizers from a bartender that didn’t write down our order or input it into the computer. As a result, our second appetizer was totally forgotten. Once this was brought to the bartender’s attention, she offered to buy us a round of drinks. I explained that we didn’t have time for drinks due to having tickets for a show at Count Basie. The bill came and there was no discount whatsoever. Thanks for nothing.

Kopy kicks butt. That is all. Come when he is working and you won’t have to wait on a drink. Although he is not as cute as the girls that work there.

I’ve been stopping into the Walt St. For years. Never had a bad experience. I had about a half hour to kill before my train today so I stopped in for a beer. Went in, ordered a beer and drank it outside in the sun. I went back in for another and the other bartender served me. I walked in with my empty from the first, she carded me(I’m almost 37), and looked at me like I was crazy. She gave me the beer, but said«I should put it in plastic.» She then took 1 dollar out of the 4 that I put on the bar, walked over to the register, came back and said«That’s not going to do it.» I pointed at the rest of the money on the bar that was the price of the beer plus a tip. Her reply was«You have to drink that and go.» I’ve been drinking and tending bar for a long time. I’ve been overserved from time to time. I’ve never been cut off before I touched my second beer.

Tonight was almost the worst service I ever got! We ordered 2 burritos over an hour and a half ago… 2 burritos. It is cinco de mayo but it is not busy in here. Now I know why. This place used to be great… Too bad

If you don’t mind waiting 1.5 hours for your food, go ahead. Their kitchen must be drastically under staffed. Once we got the food, it was good. The wait was just ridiculous.

Food was good. I ate a buffolo chicken salad which was good but the ruebans looked amazing. Crab fries were tasty. It’s a dive bar but very clean.

I normally visit this bar frequently and have a great time, however tonight was extremely different. There were 2 girls and 1 male behind the bar. The girls were busy running from the bar to tables and trying to rush to accommodate everyone while the guys seemed to take his sweet time getting from person to person. He continually shot dirty looks at people who were«annoying» as I heard him call them. He was wiping his nose and spitting in the garbage and never washing his hands before coming back to serve people. Absolutely disgusting! I will not be returning because of his demeanor and actions tonight.

Was just in town for one night on business and really just wanted a good burger. Saw somewhere that this would be a good place to get one. I was there on a Monday night and there were two other people in the bar, both middle aged men who were just there for a beer. I order the burger and fries and the bartenders were both friendly but not pushy or excessively talkative. The burger came out without too long of a wait(but I was literally the only order so that’s no surprise) and it was great! Perfectly cooked and juicy and big! The fries were just the standard crinkle cut but no complaints here. Overall it seemed like a locals bar, and I’m bummed I couldn’t go on a night with music to see what it would be like. The food options looked good and the burger was great. If I’m ever in the area again I will definitely stop by again to try something else off the menu.

I was there for a business party after work. Terrible! Terrible! Terrible! Terrible customer service!!! I was called«drunk» when I told the male«bar boy» to please not speak to me like that. After he insulted my girlfriend and I, after I asked for my check and he reassured me in a very degrading manner that he was just the help… There is a shorter blonde, short haired, bartender who was completely out of line, stuck up for him and who was very inappropriate with her daily words. I will never go back due to the crappy experience of the employees behind the bar. You do not treat customers like that! Very unprofessional and classless!

I’ve been to Walt Street numerous times in my life and amazingly, I never knew they had a dinner menu. I ate here tonight for the first time and was very impressed with the food. We tried the Cajun tuna poppers and they were fresh and delicious. My friends both had Mexican dishes while I had a traditional chicken sandwich. Everything was great. I will definitely have to go back to Walt Street in the near future and try something else on the menu.
